Quote:Clan Turgenev is doing surprisingly well with the newest member of our tribe. Our dog, Thor, has taken to rather cutesy guard duty of the lad when he's feeding or otherwise in a bouncing chair. He'll even occasionally groom the boy, but he has to sneak around us to do it.Congrats! I hope that the Turg clan is doing well with the new addition!
Speaking of which, shouldn't you be sleeping while you can?
...and, well, I'm used to no sleep from having to do on-call work for IT. So, I've been toughened up for the job... by my job. XD -
Hey, quick verification: If I were able to come, it'd be solo. The baby's still too young to travel, and that means Lady Turg will have to mind MiniTurg were I to come.
So, no +1 for me, and I'm a maybe (pending visits from family over the next few weeks for aforementioned MiniTurg). -
Quote:...I think I only tossed that out in December (while cleaning out the wife's room as the nursery), so sadly, I'll have to use my Summit 2011 badge instead. Torroes did a great job on those, didn't he?I have to run this by the better half, but I should be there. I'll be wearing my name tag from the last D&B get-together, if I can still find it.

First: If it had to be someone from canon, it should be Hero 1. Recently recovered from Rikti control (via your first Incarnate arc), he's essentially the "perfect" fit for Statesman's replacement. He's got the raw power and skill to add another angle to membership for the Phalanx.
Second: I really do like the idea of Sister Flame. However, if that means she can't ever play that toon again, I withdraw that support.
Third: Either way, I'll offer this by way of self-promotion.

Statesman has fallen.
Dark powers rise.
Mot awakens.
The Well of the Furies hungers.
The Storm is upon us.
One man, steeped in ancient magick and steadfast will, is ready to bear the burden. For today, for tomorrow, for ALL tomorrows, a beam of light to burn away the darkness, forever.

We'll have more details on that in the coming months, but suffice it to say that your character has a chance at making into the official game lore as a member of Paragon City's signature supergroup. Statesman has fallen.

The Storm is upon us.

I can assist in this, although your times really don't mesh with mine (I'm usually 10pm-12am for a gaming window). Hrm. You might want to mesh this with the Freedom Horde (run by E-Man and Luna) for a wider variety of players. Most of them are badge-minded and might be willing to participate as well.

Must bleach eyes now. Thanks, Lucky.

Keep it real in 2012. Cheers, my merry band o' murderers!

Quote:Oddly enough, sunsets are nice in Crey's Folly too, just when you enter the zone, staring down the west avenue with all the industrial buildings in the distance. I wouldn't necessarily BASK there, but yeah, the fumes in the air make particularly lovely sunsets. The first sunset that really caught my eye was way back on my first character. My brother and I had entered Talos for the first time, coming in via the Skyway gate, and we were doing some exploration. Both of us being newbs didn't have any travel powers yet, so we were just jogging. It was during our jog up the long over-water highway towards the main island of Talos that the sky was becoming very orangy-red while off in the distance, the towers of Talos were faintly rendered. It brought to mind a melancholy post-apocalyptic feeling where we were the only ones left around in the world.

Quote:Yes; if you don't have it already, I think it can be purchased in the Market. I'm honestly not sure WHAT you have to buy there to get access though...I need the Going Rogue system to go there, right? Or was it something else?
*EDIT: Oh, derp, you're VIP. Take your toon to Pocket D and use the Praetorian portal just off the dance floor to get to Studio 55. -
Here's one from the April 2004 beta books.
When two non-teamed players would take down a mob, the person who did the most damage was awarded the full XP value. More importantly, the verbiage in the combat logs went something like this:
Quote:...that didn't go over too well.X and Y both attacked Hellion Damned, but Y gets the experience for doing more damage. -
The night skies in Praetoria are far superior to anything in Primal. For overall effect, I like the night time view from the great lawn of the Nova Magisterium.

Quote:I'm going back to PR's original post, since this is where a lot of the catfighting originated. Here's a wacky idea, if someone sends a tell asking to join up with you, why not invite them? You were soloing and now you're teamed. Do you really care about their grammar skills or presumption? Do you feel that a random lowbie is an unconscionable burden upon your shoulders? If you're just taking it easy and soloing while you do something else you could say "I'm taking it easy and soloing while I do something else. Still want to join?" They might.
I almost always invite anyone who asks because if nothing else it's nice to have an audience for my badass spawn shredding.
The point of CaptainMan's post wasn't that someone asked to team with him. It was that, when he declined, he was snapped at by the asker. People's support of him is predicated on this contention: Not necessarily that he was soloing, but that someone gave him a stink for soloing.
I think your POV needs to adapt to this reality. Your perception of the thread was "lol teemin sux". It's not an accurate view, but one that you're basing your entire argument chain on. -
Quote:I deadpanned the prude comment. You shouldn't take it personally. If you read my post aloud, in the tone of Sheldon from "Big Bang Theory", it would elicit the "audience chuckle" soundfile. As a former guild leader once quipped, "I followed that with 'lol', so you had to know I was joking when I said I'd tear off your skull and use it as a cereal bowl."Now, see, calling me a 'prude' is personalizing the issue. You are 'calling me a name' rather than simply talking about the content of claims. It would be as if I were to point out that your overreacting multi-post prong of attack culminating in name-calling makes you a 'jerk.' But I wouldn't do that.
Call me a jerk if you like. It's all good.None of this helps your original contention, however. Marketing's holiday post in light of the full ERSB definition remains intact and appropriate. Let's keep our eye on the ball here, ZM.
(And this IS a great way to waste time, I agree. Thanks for making my work week pass that much faster.) -
Quote:1. Welcome back to the fold.Ah, another 3.5 hours then?
Dammit! And I thought this was an EU based server!
Thanks for the welcome, dude. Played CoH/CoV a long time ago and thought I'd get back into it with a new char with the Freedom update!
Loving it again so far!
2. The EU servers are still accessible; the ones you'd want to use would likely be Union or Defiant. You can use ANY server, but for the regional assignment, those're the ones that will be best in tune with your schedule.
Freedom does have a fair contingent of Euro players (for a while we had solid French and UK crews, and the Brazilians are still active from what I see). I'd start on your regional servers first, and check the forums there as well to see who's doing what. Some of the other servers also have extranational contingents (for instance, Justice is the unofficial Australian server).
You can read up on some of these tidbits here:

Anyway, welcome back, and get used to the weekly maintenance schedules.

Quote:Pffft.I wS soloing yesterday doing some arcs and I got a tell reading "can i join ur team pls?"
I responded "sorry, I'm soloing right now".
The reply "ur selfish. Let me join u" came back.
I Didn't bother replying to that.
Soloing is selfish now?
Lol
Eco
"Do you love me?"
"whut"
"You wish to join my team. Do you love me?"
"uhhh sure lol"
"I love you too."
*send invite*
*joins team*
*enters mission*
*kick teammate*
"I have commitment issues."
EDIT: In the spirit of full disclosure, I have zero issues with random teaming, so long as the person is asking for help with their run. But Cap's would-be cohort who sent the jerkish response demanded something sublime and elegant in response. -

Quote:You may include me in the list. I'd dig meeting up with the Capitol Gang again. Aett set up a blockbuster meet-up in early 2009, and the rednames have stated (quite a bit since our unsupported M&G) that they'd be happy to send swag our way for attendees.Hey all,
Liberties here, second in command of Exalted's Obsidian Syndicate...
I decided I really am jealous of the Players who got to go to the SDCC and the Player Summit, so I decided to do something about it. Arundel Mills Mall, near Baltimore MD, and Washington DC, is near my home, a fairly large mall, and has got an awesome theater... so I thought we might do a Player Meet & Greet out at Arundel Mills, and if I get enough people signed up I will take out a theater there for the day and have them put us a Super Hero Movie or three on if nothing else.
Mostly this is a chance for us to find who haven't had a chance to fly across the nation for various reasons to come meet the players who live in this area, network amongst ourselves, maybe even make a few new friendships in and out of game. To give everyone time to plan things, I would propose doing this in February, 2012... exact date TBD... help me figure it out below folks...
Do you have other ideas? Suggestions on other venues in the Baltimore/DC Metro area? Events we could hold? If you come up with ideas they will all be considered, I just think this needs to be done out here on East Coast...
Devs, Zwill, if this could get some kind of support, we would love to have you come catch a movie with us!
So far the list includes:
Me @Liberties
Obsidian Light: @Obsidian Light
Spacenut
Aett_Thorn
Necrotech_Master
Elvnsword
...I'm lookin' at you, Black Pebble. -
Quote:Of course he does. Free will is predicated on a subjective analysis of the perceived environment and its factors, as known by the observer. Based on observed scenarios, the observer can make conclusions. Free will is not impacted by the angle of "truthiness", as the choice of action still falls upon the actor. Whether one can be manipulated into choosing an action they would not otherwise pursue is, however, relevant.Turgenev refutes Zombie Man because he believes that Zombie Man is wrong.
And if Turgenev's beliefs are not in Turgenev's direct control, does Turgenev have free will?
However, the perceived intent of your post decrying the extremes of Paragon Studios' marketing effort in accordance with the ESRB "Rated T for Teen" was fairly neatly debunked as falling within definition of their rating. Based on the original post, you are a prude.
