Stop the Impostor known as Kris Kringle from ruining Christmas! He and his evil misfit toys are wrecking havoc across Paragon City! You could face his Machinations, Plastic Wonders, or his dreaded Flesh Dolls! So gather a few friends, because although he may look like a jolly old elf, this Satan Clause is no pushover!
For a limited time only!!! =D
I'm in like Flynn. -
Quote:The 4channer in me read your subject originally as "'An Hero' Post", FYI.I quit City of Heroes.
No, really, I did. A few weeks ago, I told some of the people closer to me that I was quitting, sent my feedback quietly to a red name, and even reevaluated my budget now that this $15 a month as freed up. One of the last things said red name told me was "I hope that you find something in a future Issue that can bring you back." I politely told them something akin to "Ya right" and resumed closing up shop.
Then I read the Issue 19 notes in detail on I19's launch day.
"Character switching without logging out? Cool, now I can mix up my play styles in one sitting more easily. Nifty, if I were staying."
"Power Animations? Well, Marcian, the only reason you didn't pick supernatural powers was because it bothered you that all characters used the same animations. So, that opens up whole new power sets for you."
"Incarnates... so now my level 50 is relevant again. Wait, and the story makes him stronger than Statesman or Recluse!?"
"Praetoria got fleshed out some more!? Didn't I just vent that there was no auto mission generator? Did they read my mind!? You said you'd only use Seers for good!"
-----
In all seriousness, Issue 19 handily takes care of the vast majority of the reasons I'm quitting. I knew the update was coming for a while. There's a difference, however, between hearing something will be happening soon and actually logging on and having said options laid out before you.
I tried to leave, but they keep me in. Again and again. I can only imagine that I20, in all its shrouded secrecy, is going to crabshell us with some incredible other feature that keeps me in the game.
Good job, Red Names. You all collaborate on a fine project.
LFT?
I'd say welcome back, but hey, you never left. Get back to work, you. -

Quote:I gotta say, this method helped me cinch it in one shot. Don't bother with the other methods, this one'll give you the least amount of headache. If the target bind isn't helping, try using the option I mentioned above (/optionset ShowVillainname 1). That should help significantly. You'll see their names right through the fire from down the hallway.

I'm in for this. The usual, of course. I'll try to be more on time this run.

Quote:And that's EXACTLY why they're doing it, Aura. It lets them gauge what outlets work best, at what time. And, again except for the people who are NOT ALLOWED to log into twitter or facebook, because their company bans it.
So basically they get not traffic from those folks.
I would say they need another channel to give these away in, one which is more available to more folks. I know this seemed like the year of the facebook and twitter, but many companies STILL BAN access to these sites outright. -
Quote:This made me laugh like Agent Smith in my office this morning. Thanks, Schismatrix. Now my boss knows I'm freakin' nuts. But i thought the game had established that Aarons will almost always find a way to get himself defeated in any potentially hostile environment. This "fix" contradicts de facto canon.
"One of the base's power cores is unstable!"
"Which one?!"
"We're not sure, the fluctuations in the power grid just appeared!"
"General Aarons has drawn his pistol. Follow him!"
"And tell the hospital to prepare to treat the General. Again."
General Aarons is sort of like a suicidal canary.

And, people, there are 10 more days of chances. If you don't get it at first, try again. They're freebies.
People ask why they don't just do X, Y or Z method for giving them out, instead of what they're doing with the social engines. The answer? They're finding out which one nets them the fastest response, so they know where to put their energies for 2011. It also drums up activity on the social sites. This benefits NCSoft as much as it benefits you. -

Quote:First week or so, take it really slow. If your body says nap, then you nap. If you sneeze, brace yourself. At some point, your scars will feel like they're suddenly on fire. That's good. It's your neurons firing up finally.I'm trying =). I have good days and then I have days like yesterday when it just hurts. Of course having a cough/sneezing fit didn't help matters. That *HURT*. It caught me off guards, and I didn't have my abs braced, and it felt like I pulled a few things.
Today feels like a good day. I haven't dozed off yet and it's 9am. :smirk: -
Muse: Thanks a lot for offering your seat for the Megamech TF for me. Tell me who you want dead, and it shall be done.

Wow. I feel less bad for having tried 20 minutes after I saw the alert come through... Sorry, Sapph!
-
-
ACH! I was all set for this today, and then I set up a meeting from 2-3pm to train my new engineer on our ticketing system... halfway through the training, I see the blip come up on my Chrome tweet alert...
I very nearly stopped the training to jump on it. I didn't.
I regret that. :P Every NA code used... bah, humbug! Waiting for day TWO!... -
Quote:Correcting an adjective there. Respec'ing is a harrowing experience. :P I hate it, it's why I very rarely, if ever, do it.Turg is lazy to try it because he actually claimed all his Veteran respecs as he earned them, so he's possibly got like 8 respecs to burn through just to get the badge. /e tantrum ensued. haha
And yeah, since the vet respecs seem to be last in the pecking order, it wouldn't take as long to do as we initially thought. Still, I figure this: It will probably become available at some point in the future. I do have need for building at least one respec on an alt build, so I might try that once. I hate the idea of burning up respecs for a badge though, so if I do it it'll be with an actual design goal in mind, and just killing multiple avians with a single projectile. -
Snow Globe has a suggestion of one problem location. What got me on this badge was the north bridge in Neutropolis. Be ridiculously thorough.

-
Quote:Actually... I think Doc Turg just might qualify for at least one, if not all three. I don't think I've ever gone to Galaxy City for a respec (I used /respec every time I had to do it).Supposedly, if somebody didn't claim their respecs way back in the day, they can apparently earn those other 3 badges on the other side. That would make the total 1201. Whether or not anybody qualifies for that is doubtful, but I guess we'll see.
Wanna help me on a run tonight? -
Quote:I read the same posts last week. Seems like the holy grail for the fix.I had this same problem and found this solution online that worked for me.I am pasting it below but it originally came from here:
http://forums.amd.com/game/messagevi...hreadid=140886
"my problem solved;
"solution was to clear out the Windows GAC (Global Assembly Cache). In Windows 7, you can browse directly to "C:\Windows\assembly". Sort by "Public Key Token", then delete everything with the Token "90ba9c70f846762e" (ATI's key). You'll obviously need Administrator privileges. No reboot needed either. Reinstalled CCC and it ran perfectly!
The GAC lets you share DLL's that are the same version number. If it's in the GAC, any installer will NOT install a new DLL - it'll use the one in the GAC. If the GAC DLL is corrupted, you're majorly SOL.
When I reinstalled the CCC, it took longer to install then it had before. Presumably, this was due to the installer copying all the correct DLL's to my hard drive. And no ATI DLL's have made it back into my GAC.
Uninstalling CCC, and then:
1. Check that (Program Files folder )/ATI Technologies/ATI.ACE is empty
2. Check (Windows folder)/Assembly folder to see if there's any files with Public Key Token of "90ba9c70f846762e" (Sort by Public key token to get a easier view). All these tokens should be uninstalled by right clicking and uninstalling.
3. Check that (Document and Settings)/(User)/AppData/Local/ATI/ACE is empty
4. Reinstall CCC"
I copy/paste from another forum and I want to share, thanks..."
'cept that my \assembly folder doesn't contain token references with that name. =/
I'll fuss with a few things tonight...
Phedra: Thanks for the tips. My malware scanner of choice is MBAM (new version is out, btw), and I gave the system a thorough scrub (nothing found) when I started investigating. The CCC issue seems to be a common one, and as HyBeams noted one with a potential solution... if only I had the same circumstances that the fix seems to require...) -

Explain, "pack"? Badge-hunter and CIT both support Issue 19 badges, and Vidiotmaps has their map pack updated for Issue 19 as well, if that's what you're referencing.
-
Quote:Going on that presumption, I'd say the current count for primals (at this time) is 1198 badges.Personally I really don't count those as other badges. They are just a different name for the same thing. I do think it was silly of the devs to do that though.
1260 badges
- 4 Praetorian-only accomplishments
- 52 Praetorian-only achievements
-3 Praetorian-only Accolades
(-3 respec accolades from opposing ethics)
Final count for a Primal toon: 1198 badges (includes Passport, Bug Hunter)
Sound right, or am I missing something?
