Quote:The third build is for whatever you wanna do with it, honestly. It was given to all players to allow for an alternative, non-Incarnate-dependent build without screwing up a player's already existing two builds, but it doesn't mean you HAVE to use that build when you SK down.I thought the third build was for when you play lower than 50.
When I SK down, I just use my primary build that has the Alpha slot. It doesn't work, but I'm used to how the power management goes with that build, so it's easy for me to adjust. 'sides, I don't have the funds to work up another purp build. -
I should be here, albeit a bit late perhaps. Toon TBA.

Quote:Bit of a thread necro, but a useful one.Now that I'm aware of this, I'll probably try to do it that way and be paying closer attention to it for now on though, but either way.. I don't think either one of us would go crying and booting people from the team like the OP experienced. haha
I decided to pay attention this week to pylons first vs pylons last, and seeing what the Hami did. First few days, we did this standard: Wipe each Rikti mob and their pylon, then when clear we moved to the mitos.
With all pylons down, the Hami nucleus seemed far more "free" with its AOE attacks once we started attacking the mitos, from blue to yellow to green.
The last few days, I asked the teams to leave the pylons up last, to test the theory that their design is to aggro the Hami while remaining allied to him, resulting in a no-attack scenario with the Hami unless he were taunted or attacked.
This held up very well to scrutiny. On runs where the pylons were left up in their entirety, we were able to drop the mitos quickly and without interference. The most recent run I did seemed like to break the rule as the Hami aggro'd a scrapper, but this was due to Against All Odds (a self-buff/AOE taunt aura) being up and his passing too close to the nucleus.
Other than that scrap catching aggro a few times, the "pylon last" runs went very smoothly, with no AOE blasts from the nucleus to cause us issue. -
Well, put THIS one to bed. Profitable work too, plenty of shard and cash opporunities, and in one instance, a single purple drop (a good one, too).

Ooops. Guess I shoulda taken some pix.
Our two runs were 56 mins and 49 mins, I think? A few of us did another two runs tonight, and I slept thru the last one... woke up to Tax from J-Force walking around me in RWZ...
The two runs were riddled with bad luck. One player quit accidentally, another had nasty instability, we got bugged on the Rider mish, forcing a team rebuild... -
This. Still, I'll be hitting my server cap on Freedom with the next vet reward, so I need to start thinking about where to scoot my "backup" 50s that I roll out only for particular occasions...
*eyes Champion, they're good people* -
My condolences to you and your friend for your loss, Luna. Be there for your friend. We'll be here.

Is the Noble Brute swipefest still an option? I haven't tried that since '05.

Quote:My first thought was to sketch out a timeline of your badge rankings during your relationship. It's actually kind of sad that I will never be able to adequately express to her what it means that I give up opportunities at badge hunting for the sake of spending time in her company. God I'm such a total nerd.
...my second thought was, that would probably be your last date.
Maybe you don't need to express quite so much. -

Quote:Already got 'em. It's a tricky explore badge duo. You have to be earing khaki slacks and have your Lackadaisical Aura slotted for Ennui. This guy's house has 2 exploration badges on it!

*Great picture, btw.*

Quote:Y'know, USCI had a link last night that covered this tactic... I think it was copied from the badge-hunter boards?...For those who don't know, how do we get the nukes? I understand Shivans and the HVAS...
Heck, explain them, if you could, for folks who don't know, please...
You can get all 3 nukes from the Warburg PVP zone. All your pertinent info, including how to get them, can be found at this link. -
Didn't need it, but glad I could help.
'course, I managed to get two shards off that one mission, so it was a win/win!

Quote:You're a badger. WSTs aren't going anywhere. Your GF may disappear tomorrow. Do the math.I just had to go and get a girlfriend right before the Strike Pack came out... I've only done 4 strike targets so far.
(Wait a second... why am I frowning?)
...I'm sure Arcanaville could calculate your chances rather neatly? -

Make buying it a temp power. $15 for a single-use click power that you can use on yourself; or $15 for a one-time activation that you can use on someone else.
No market presence, keep it purely from donor to receiver. -
Quote:I kinda agree with BC on this. If the team is freakin' awful, my worst time is still around 45 mins... fair teams for me have averaged 35 mins, with sharp ones approaching the 20 min mark, even as a PUG format. There's an eye to the team build, of course, but it's hardly restrictive. The overwhelming majority of Kahn TF's do *NOT* get done in 20 minutes. It gives 30 merits. That means the median completion time was datamined at way the hell over 20 minutes (more like 90).
-
Well, durr. Lemme rephrase.
How many times a day did you run it for the Kahn and/or STF to get it? Which one were you focusing on more? What was your ETA on your runs? DId you pug it, or did you keep to a private team with this as a goal?

Quote:My secret?I'm curious what people use for inspiration for their character names. I've been kind of stuck since Going Rogue went live - there is a particular powerset/costume I'd like to use, but I can't think of a name that fits the character/costume/backstory. And frankly it's becoming a bit of a problem, like some horrible kind of writer's block or just flat out obsession. I haven't been able to make any other characters, because I keep fixating on that one. And it's reaching the point that thinking about the Character That Refuses To Be Named leaves me feeling physically ill. And I'm not asking people to name the character for me - a friend already suggested several names, some of which were probably fairly good. I rejected them all because of some vague sense that if I don't pick the name, the character isn't really mine somehow. To the extent that any character in this game "belongs" to the player.
What I'm looking for, I guess, is how other people get past being blocked on a name. Either because they've got the perfect costume/powerset and can't think of one, or their perfect name turns out to be taken.
I get the power set, and I try to think of names, read in the voice of the announcer from Mortal Kombat, or the guy who says "QUAD DAMAGE" from the Quake games. The cooler it sounds, the more likely I use it.
I'm not joking. Try it. Use "Black Dragon" or "Heironymous Flame". Then throw in the mean chuckle from MK2 that he gives, and it gets better.
The idea here is to not fuss of if it's "perfect", but rather if it makes you soil your pants of how awesome the name sounds for how you want the toon to be played.
Cerulean Skie. Gun Father. Blackest Light. Law of the Bullet. Lord Autumn. Jonna Hex. Supreme Soviet. Ultima Ratio Regum. FATALITY.
I swear, it works, every time. -
My pleasure. That'd be on Champion though. Smaller server, but good people, to be sure. Enjoy your prehistoric bionic roleplay there.
