  1. Very cool list! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see what else shakes loose. Now, if I weren't disconnecting constantly, I'd be playing some of these!
  2. You're 18.5? Hmmmm. "City of Ho Ho Ho, or A Claus in Paragon," can give you a light-hearted romp through a lil' of a level or so. Three missions, levels 5-20, with Outcasts, Trolls, and a toon who's a dead ringer for Santa Claus. Try it if you like. Arc 18775.
  3. You might like trying my "City of Ho Ho Ho, or A Claus in Paragon," arc 18775. It's levels 5-20, fairly fun, three missions, and, I'm told, has that good kooky old school Christmas special vibe to it. Go save Santa from the Outcasts and Trolls today!
  4. One thing I've noticed for a long time is that after you republish an arc, if you want to make more changes, you'll want to search up the arc again (click "My Creations" and then search again, just to let them all flash up on the screen). THEN go in and hit Edit.

It seems like every time I've finished an edit, republished, and then immediately gone back to edit more without hitting "search" again that it wouldn't keep my changes in there properly.

    Or maybe I'm just paranoid.

    Disconnecting

I know complaining doesn't really help matters. I know that it doesn't win friends, influence people, solve problems, or get me any closer to figuring out what's going on. I know there are solutions being discovered--new video drivers (mine are the latest according to the manufacturer's site, but they're also about a year and a half old or so at that), a network cable run instead of a router (the likeliest fix, it seems, but not possible to do this from my bedroom to the far side of the living room), a command line prompt specifically, it seems, for Intel sets (tried it in desperation, despite not having an Intel card; it didn't work with my system at all). . . .

It's been, what, over a week since i-17 hit?

I only have one little post to say, and then I'm done talking/whining/complaining/moaning about it all. It's not in anger. It's not in frustration.

I just want to be able to log in to a zone without zoning taking two to three times longer than it used to and, if I don't zone successfully, disconnecting completely from the Internet and seeing that lil' red X over my Internet thing in the task bar.

I want to be able to move around without the same.

I want to see a netgraph that looks normal for once without spikes of red and big rectangles of green that look like plateaus.

I just wanna be able to play one of my favorite games again. I feel like I'm being punished for something I haven't done or have any clue how to even go about fixing feasibly if I can. =(

    That is all.

    Good night, everyone.
  6. "1.3 GB of RAM at the bare minimum."

I have 2 GB of RAM on an oooooold machine.

    This cannot be good.
  7. Still reading, here, and eagerly waiting your play of PENGUIN Part 2.
  8. Thought about that, myself. . . but I've got Ultra Mode turned off and graphics set to "Performance" instead of "Recommended." Any other suggestions?

    Disconnecting

I eagerly jumped on the game this afternoon on getting home. . . and I'm still getting disconnected from the 'net.

Any words on this problem or solutions for it? Like others on this thread, I had no problems with my connection pre-issue 17. I just want to play again.
  10. Justice went boom again. Sad Tubby.
  11. Heh. Funny. Like others, I'm showing up through 96 months on my Account Info page. . . .

But I guess I'm good to go on finally unlocking these freebie rewards I got about 9-10 months ago through a bug? Or not?
  12. Is this City of Heroes' way of telling me to get back to grading rough drafts?
  13. Justice went boom. I'm one badge away from 5 merits in Talos Island, too. . .

    Sad Tubby.
  14. Not only shields but also left-handed pistols seem to be problematic. My Tubbius Regalis character is a thugs/devices mastermind character; if his left hand pistol is set to anything BUT Legacy Semi-Auto, it doesn't show the pistol in his hand, and it registers as invalid.

    Just a heads up.

I'm in a very similar boat. Several months ago, one of my characters erroneously received the Vet Rewards up through month 42--and no others of mine did. I'm currently showing 18 actual, real, earned months of rewards on every other character of mine. Like Inokis, I'm wondering where I stand regarding this matter.

    Disconnecting

I find myself getting constantly but randomly disconnected not just from the game but from the Internet at large, now, with COH up. Sad Tubby. . . . I never had this problem before Iss. 17.

Update in response to MaestroMavius, below: My girlfriend's been playing on her computer (some kind of laptop running Vista; I'm on an older desktop with XP), and we've been running off the same Internet connection here at the house. So, with regards to Maestro's friend's suggestion, I don't think it's the router not keeping up. This happens whether I'm on by myself or whether she's on at the same time.
  17. I'm facing pretty frequent, random disconnections from the Internet, now, but only when COH is running, after this patch. What gives? =(
  18. Good evening, folks. So, I'm up to 7 of 8 arcs published, and I thought, "Well, maybe I should just break down and put 'em all into one post, now," so folks have all my stuff in one place if they're curious.

So here we go! One note: there are recurring characters and rivalries throughout the seven arcs, so it helps to play them in sequence, if you want to know the full extent of the Tubbius Experience!

Many of these arcs have been reviewed here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=144170&page=7 . One of the arcs mentioned there has been deleted, and two haven't been reviewed as of this time, but MrCaptainMan does a great job of breaking them down.

If you want to post on THIS thread (as in my thread, the one you're reading now!) regarding your experiences, please feel free to do so!

    1) City of Ho Ho Ho, or A Claus in Paragon (18775): This is the one that started it all. It's up to the heroes to rescue Tubbius Claus, a Paragon City official who appears to be Santa Claus himself, from the clutches of Manuel Pistola, a rogue Outcast leader with an axe to grind and a Troll under his thumb. 3 missions: levels 5-20. Outcasts and Trolls.

    2) PENGUIN (29205): Originally an arc that was designed just to make use of a fun-looking character design, this has developed into a trilogy of its own right. Explore Crey Biotech's PENGUIN Project and its ramifications on arctic and Antarctic wildlife. Meet the mysterious Waddle, who is quite possibly the cutest character in all of the AE. Guest appearance by Tubbius Claus. 3 missions: levels 30-54. Crey and Winter Horde.

    3) This Costume Contest Sponsored by Tubbius (101933): Tubbius Claus makes his second full arc appearance as he tries rescuing heroes so he can hold a costume contest. However, he can't bumble his way through the rescues without your help. More allies than you can shake a stick at, but how can you pass up Santa, a mutant kung fu chicken with boxing gloves, Waddle in a guest appearance, a professional wrestler, and MORE? Return appearances by Manuel Pistola and Graatak the Troll! Introduces Tubbius Regalis--Tubbius Claus's evil twin? clone? Praetorian counterpart? 4 missions: levels 1-54. Council and Winter Horde.

    4) PENGUIN Part 2: Waddle's Revenge (302196): Waddle returns in a full assault against Crey Biotech! A researcher ends up a frostbitten corpse. Villain groups hunt the foremost survivor of the PENGUIN Project across town--but what is the penguin hero's motive? And what is FISHIE? Introduces Toxin, a 5th Column agent with an as yet undisclosed past. 4 missions. Levels 30-40 (first mission) and 30-54 (missions 2-4). 5th Column, Crey, and Security Guards.

    5) Fox Hunt (334049): Tubbius Regalis returns and calls you up to stop the Family from attacking the bank where his holdings are held in Paragon City. When one villain goes hunting down another, heroes get involved, and one must follow the clues through a web of gangster intrigue. Introducing Zealot and The Fox; guest appearance by The Paragon Bomb. 4 missions. Levels 5-40. Family, Custom gang members, and Security Guards.

    6) Hammer and Sickle of Paragon City (351727): Two former Soviet agents turned heroes, American Hammer and New York Sickle, have gone missing on what should have been a routine clearing of a 5th Column base. Find out what happened to them, learn how Toxin of the 5th Column ties into everything, and help your heroic contacts stop a plot by the 5th Column to unleash chemical warfare on the Council. Guest appearance by Manuel Pistola! 5 missions. Levels 30-54. 5th Column and Council. Contains an Elite Boss.

    7) PENGUIN Part 3: Waddle to the Big Top (402239): Waddle serves as contact and ally in this mission, winning a ticket to a free circus show and stumbling into a Carnival plot to control the masses using. . . cotton candy? What does Waddle think about that? 3 missions. Levels 30-54. Carnival of Shadows.

That's it for now! Play away! All I ask is that if you rate, rate fairly and honestly.

    Thanks for your time!

  19. PENGUIN Part 3: Waddle to the Big Top (402239) is LIVE! Have at it when you like, MCM.
  20. Ahhhh, MCM is one honorable, awesome dude.
  21. You can always go back and play mine, LJ.
  22. Slade here might be right, y'know. Maybe there's stuff going on in the background we don't know about?
  23. Will definitely think this over, Zamuel. I'm pretty sure you've run some of mine already, though, right? Wrong?
  24. MANY MANY thanks, Eva! That's exactly what I needed to know. The "Stop working on published arc" threw me for a serious loop, making me think it was equivalent to unpublishing the arc. I've worked very, very hard to get the ratings up on my currently six arcs, and I didn't want to lose any of them. Thanks again! I'd rep you if it were possible.
  25. A couple pages back, someone said that a fix would be to delete all the arcs and have folks republish the good ones.

I'm not buying it, personally, but it raises a question I've wondered about for a long time.

Very often, my published arcs get a LOT of tweaks and adjustments that the locally saved copies don't get. In fact, I've got really OLD revisions of various published arcs but not locally saved copies that match the latest republished revisions.

Is there any way to get a local save of a republished arc that doesn't wipe out ratings?

Sorry about the off-topic nature of this post, but it's something I've wondered a lonnnng time.
