  1. Just caught this but Power Boost wont work on Ice Shields 'cause the buffs offer resistance, as well?

Kinda weird that Power Boost works with Envenom and that has a resistance debuff in it.

Gonna check up on that fender forum then. That'll be a first for me.
  2. As dominator's domination bar increases much quicker I suggest brute's fury rate to be increased as well in a pvp environment.

Brutes, IMO, doesnt much help build fury hardly at all even fighting between 2-3 enemies. With Tankers having such high hit points Brutes can use a quicker damage boost to help even it out.
  3. I may be late to show up tonight. Fill my spot if I'm late.
  4. I think you'd have more fun with Ninja/Dark. I know its pretty successful in both Zone and Arena PvP.

Zombies has a leg up with resistance to slow movement such as caltrops, quicksand, tar patch, etc.
  5. There is several people that has completed MoLRSF runs but not rewarded because temp powers were unintentionally used -- its safer to disable temp powers.
  6. Regular run as in using nukes and shivans?
  7. If you can get familiar with moving your pets around comfortably you would improve your survivability and your pets greatly. Someone had made a Thugs/Poison and visited RV quite often going through respec after respec trying to improve and finally asked what powers I took and those that I dropped.

Even with the same build he still struggled but I tried to advise him to keep his pets seperated from him and not clustered together to get the full blunt of AoE attacks.

Many experienced PvPers will target pets first and not straight for you. Just havin' 1-2 pets knocked off makes a big difference. If you can afford or put up with it you may want to drop your travel power for Presense Pool to avoid such cases as I picked up Leadership, Medicine, and Fitness.

Fitness is pretty obvious why I picked it. Aid-Other helps heal pets in between fights. Heals more than Alkaloid and less endurance.

Picked up Leadership for Assault to reduce Taunt effects and the extra damage boost -- and Tactics to pick up stealthy foes and ToHit for the Tier 1 and 2 pets.

I picked up Black Scorpion's Webnade, Power Boost, and Web Cocoon. Really good -slow -recharge -fly powers stacked together with Neurotoxic Breath.

From the top of my head I didn't pick up Antidote, Poison Trap, and Elixer of Life as I spec'd my build for PvP. But, it does really well in PvE, as well.

As I said before if you really wanna do well I urge you to get comfortable with using Goto command. However you figure it out using binds or the pet window interface. I've had several people ask me to send binds for them but personally I use the pet window to move pets around. Sounds ridiculous but its wicked easy.

If you cant figure out the binds then I'll somehow explain how I play with the pet window.

    Good luck
  8. Nobody likes slotting Membrane Exposure Hamis in Mind Link?
  9. Sucky. Its resist is almost comparable to other 2ndaries. I have nearly 28-30% less resistance in PvP over PvE.
  10. /Storms are tricky.

I would keep my distance with pets spread out behind me.

I would open the fight with Paralytic Poison to drop Hurricane before he can touch me with it and set his pets off to attack me.

Neurotoxic Breath and Webnade to stop him and pets completely if he doesnt have Super Speed.

Bruiser would be already running up as I use Power Boosted Envenom and Weaken and refresh the slows. If Lightning Storm is underway I would summon Gang War to help mitigate the damage and end drains and by that time I would leave BG Mode and force my pets to target the MM.

Getting hit with Hurricane is prob the most worrisome part of the fight. If it hits the pets or myself Hurricanes effects lasts a good 8-10s from -range after gettin' touched from it and all my pets end up rushing into melee range (which is what I never want).

I dont use Noxious Gas very much unless its necessary.

/Storm although is good for PvP, as well.
  11. Sign me up. I'm up for anything. I'll prob take my Mind/Psi just in case. Can check towers and arm bombs in tower 1 and 2 safely if tech is in Lab. Grab codes in Vindicator mission, as well.

    @Trance
  12. I dont think I ever got to know you well but maybe we'll get to team some before you depart later in the year. I understand as many people do. Keep in touch!
  13. Fire/Kin is extremely active. Strong heals, endurance drains and buffs, and damage buffs. When your pace slows the team slows down. You're pretty much the driving force that keeps the team moving 2nd from the team's brute or leader. Its a risky build to play with as you'll be drawing alot of attention to yourself from stray aggro. It does decent solo play but it shines in team play.

One thing is that teammates are going to assume they will have Speed Boost throughtout the entire duration on the team. It doesn't last a whole lotta time so you'll be refreshing the buffs every 1m 30s between mobs and can get quite irritating if you're not used to it. I grew to hate my Fire/Kin by how overwhelming it can get sometimes when ya feel ya dont get a break especially throughout a task force. As I said before, very active build.

I never been too comfortable with it in PvP but I've seen Elec/Kins do rather well in a pvp environment.
  14. Sorry 'bout your brother and wish ya the best. I dont play blueside but g'luck.
  15. Didn't notice you didnt take Neurotoxic Breath but I would take it. I usually open a fight with it. Keep Paralytic Poison as ya need a mez to drop offensive toggles quick like Force Bubble, Hurricane kinda effects. I'd try to keep Web Cocoon and Web Envelope just for the -fly -slow powers. It works wonder keeping enemies from getting away (least those without Super Speed).

Dueled a fire/storm. Office map was embarassing... 0-5. Lightning storm was everywhere it seemed.

Fought tech lap, was a little bit closer 0-2 no inspirations (per my request). Got a kill on me in last 20 sec.

Seems i've found my weakness. storm ftw.

Still think i could take a psi

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you can mez him before hurricane hits ya should be fine. If you get hit with it and mez him the effects stays on you for a good 10s -range -acc or whatever. More than enough time to get hurricane back up. I dont think ya have any kinda mez effects 'cept from Dark Servant or patron mez.
  17. I PvP with a Thugs/Poison in RV on Infinity. Seems fine to me let me know how ya fair with it. I dont have Tough, Weave, or any travel powers. Its spec'd entirely for PvP. I'd slot more slots in Aid-Other if possible. It heals more and cost less endurance than Alkaloid. If ya run into smarter enemies ya may wanna try to get Presense Pool in there to keep enemies on you and not take down your thugs.

You shouldnt have ANY trouble with anyone 1v1 and 1v2 (most cases).
  18. Subdue does significant more damage than Dominate. I wouldn't skip that either.

I have PvP'd with both a Widow and Fortunata. I think Widow does well but I liked my Fortunata build better. Spec'd for ranged defense on my Fort and destroyed squishies quick but takes a lot more work to drop Scrappers and Tankers. In a passive role on a team in a pvp environment I picked up Hover/Flight for range damage and out of of melee range and only worry 'bout range attackers (had much success with it)

I have a 50 mercs/poison, it's alright except for the whole "if they have SS, they run" thing. Mercs is a little better for stopping runners, but the fact is that if they want to get away, there's not much you can do.

You also HAVE to take mace, for powerboost. I can't imagine not taking PB on a /poison.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Landing a PB'd Envenom is an off button for Elude or defense-oriented builds

It's far more effective to confuse the MM, though, because then all his pets will turn on him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Question. Back in the day, they only turned on the MM if they were in aggressive mode. If the MM was in BG, they just sat there if they got confused. Is this not the case anymore? They attack the MM even if in BG mode?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The pets will not attack unless ya have some kinda damage proc to set them off in the mass confusion. But, if ya just mass confuse them they won't attack each other unless ya follow up with an attack to set them off until the MM puts them on passive.
  21. I actually PvP quite often with a Thugs/Poison on Infinity. Kinda retiring him though as I been experimentin' with other PvP builds that are not MMs.
  22. I'm sure I could give you a good fight with my Thugs/Poison.
  23. That would be a lot easier. Erm, my mind is a lil sketchy already.

1st Round against Ice/SS (I think it was SS) Tanker (1)
    2nd Round against FA/SS Tanker (1)
    3rd Round against Regen/Blade Scrapper (1)
    4th Round against Bots/FF MM (1)
5th Round against Regen/FM Scrapper (Draw)

FFA match Shard (1K), I got (2K), and Ethan got (3K) in 10m

    So I guess I got 4-1-1
  24. There any way to post the outcome of everyone that participated? I didn't get a chance to pay attention to everyone else's results from their matches. Like wins, losses, and draws from everyone else or who was matched up with who? (if not its cool sounds like a lot of work)

It was a lot of fun, btw. I prob will be retiring the MM and use something else for PvP. Great job organizing the event.
