Quote:I quite like the Welsh national anthem - I can't sing it to save my life but other half (who is from Merthyr) sings it rather wellNow the welsh national anthem . . . . . . that i am ashamed to say to not have a clue about
Except the
gwlad . . .. gwladddddddddd
part hehe -
English is my native language but half the time I can't speak that properly
I can swear in Welsh and know a few other words, Cwtch being my fav!
I've got a bit of French locked away in my head from my school days but to say it is sketchy is an understatement
I doubt it counts but I know a bit of medical terminology from my work :S
I'm very jealous of people who can speak multiple languages, I've just never had the ear/tongue for it -
Some of my fav synergies are:
* Storm/Dark 'fender - as mentioned, you can stack multiple stuns (3 if you include the Dark APP) and has other good control and debuff options.
* Dark/Ice 'fender - you can have up 4 holds with this combo (if you include a APP) and with some great debuffs from Dark it is a brilliant controllerish support combo
* Trick Arrow/Ice 'fender - you can have up to 5 holds (inc. 1 AoE) if you include an APP. Similar to Dark/Ice in terms of a controllerish support combo but with a touch more damage than support (ie Oil Slick Arrow)
* Gravity/Storm 'troller - Grav's AoE hold works great with Freezing rain as it doesn't negate knockdown
* Fire/Dark Tank, Dark/Fire Brute/Scrapper - An interesting mix with two self heals and two endurance recovery powers. Can work really well and deal some nice damage
* Kinetic/Archery 'fender - Mainly for Rain of Arrows/Fulcrum Shift combo, works quite well with the Mass Hypnosis from the APP
* Sonic/Mental Blaster - I found this combo had some good AoE damage going for it
* Bots/Traps Mastermind - Just a combination with huge damage and huge support. You can softcap your defences without even trying on this combo and I steam rolled through most stuff using only SOs and the original three commands that MMs get -
I know you haven't asked about these specificly but you can also consider adding the Chance of Hold proc from the Immobilise set in your AoE immobilise. It turns it into something that may be worth spamming a bit more often. Not as cheap as the procs from the sleep and confuse sets though.

Quote:Couldn't have been the mutant pack as it was only the NA servers that went down. Was there a patch? I looked for patch notes and didn't see any.
Did the mutant pack go live? Any noticeable changes?
I assume it was just to do with some of the server problems that NA have been having recently. -
What you mean Ive been saving the purple ones for that AV fight with my other half for no reason??

1) How often do you PuG instead of grouping within your SG or friends?
Rarely - Now-a-days I prefer to play with my friends as we can have a laugh and I am actually quite shy. I occasionally PUG but generally that is for TF/SFs that are advertised on server event channel.
2) How often do you group with friends and fill the rest of the group with PuGs?
If Im a leader and I know no one else from SG is coming then I will fill a spot if I get a tell asking to join. I will actively search for people if filling gaps for a TF. I know other people from my SG will happily fill gaps for a general team and will search them out.
3) How often do your PuG members do what you feel needs to be done without being told to do so?
Most the time - sometimes I will "hold on I'll pull" or "watch for the mob around the corner" or "do we want to ghost" but that is stuff you would need to say on any team to be honest.
4) How often do you find yourself telling PuG members what you feel they should be doing (for the good of the current team/session)?
Virtually never - see above
5) How often do you find yourself adding PuG members to your friends/global friends, and if those lists are full, using other methods of remembering them?
Rarely and the star system
6) How often do you group with complete jerks in a PuG?
Not so much complete jerks although there are people that do make some ignorant or homophobic comments. I've been on some PUGs where the team just doesn't gel for whatever reason. I was on a team once where an argument broke out between the leader and another member regarding the efficiency of herding. This went on for 5-10mins while everyone was just stood around waiting so I made my excuses and left (as did other people!). -
I generally get the newsletter twice because I have two EU accounts active at the moment.
And I will say that having this email point to the US game was just a bit thoughtless but like NH says im not entirely surprised -
I haven't read the whole thread but want to respond to those that are "LOL getting your stuff back" and "OMG I want compensation".
This happened to me very recently and I petitioned with all the details. I had a very good response from the GM team regarding this. It was escalated to a senior GM straight away and within a week I had all the recipes that I had lost returned to me on one of the characters.
They even informed me that they were going to inform the dev team and an announcement would be made which they have now done.
From what I understand there are logs of what people send themselves each other so it possible to get your stuff back. -
Quote:Thanks for pointing out my mistake there - ive updated my listAren't you missing a 'Nine' from that?
IIRC it was Not the Nine O'Clock News - shown on BBC2 at 9pm when BBC1 usually showed the news. And if the old memory is working I think it was Rowan Atkinson, Pamela Stephenson, Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones.
So if you like that then Alas Smith and Jones may be worth watching. Amongst some great sketches it had a fantastic recurring item of Mel & Griff in head to head dialogue.
If you can't find the TV series there was an audio release of some head to head conversations...
Of course Rowan went on to Blackadder.
All I can currently recall Pamela going on to do was the excellent TV series of the book of the radio series of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy... which has to be seen/heard/read in at least one form.
Anyone know if hedgehog flavour crisps are still available anywhere?
Just my brain thinking faster than my fingers can keep up -
Definitely these two!

More recently, I'd suggest giving Spooks a try (though that's spy-type spooks rather than ghosties and ghoulies). Also Jonathan Creek - a crime-solving creator of magic tricks (by the same writer as One Foot in the Grave).

Jeeves and Woster

I would also recommend:
* Bad Girls - good prison drama based in a Woman's prison
* The Street - good drama series with different characters and stories
* A bit of Fry and Laurie - Stephen Fry's and Hugh Lauries sketch show, it is hilarious
* Butterflies - classic but funny
* My Family - people either love or hate this but I think its quite funny (particularly the first few series)
* Shameless - funny but quite dramatic
* Agony - probably one of the funniest TV series out there
* Victoria Wood Presents - great stories with Vicky Wood's brilliant humour
* As Seen on TV - Vicky Wood's brilliant sketch show
* Not the Nine O'Clock News - another brilliant sketch show with Rowan Atkinson and others
* Girls on Top - French and Saunders with Ruby Wax in a brilliant Sitcom
* Absolutely Fabulous - Another brillian sitcom by/with Jennifer Saunders oops just saw you listed this
* Waking the Dead - brilliant cop show looking cold cases
* Silent Witness - brilliant crime show focusing on the forensic team
* Gimme Gimme Gimme - another brilliant sitcom with Kathy Burke
* Dinnerladies - another brilliant sitcom with Victoria Wood
Ok I watch to much TV
Edit - and the UK does produce some good television!! -
Quote:On top this (btw great post UberGuy) set bonuses from Purple Sets stay with you no matter what lvl you exemp down unlike normal IO Sets which only go 3(?) levels lower. There are other ways to obtain high recharge, but purples are something that, generally, every build can slot at least 1-2 sets of, for which you usually get very large +recharge returns. That's part of why they're expensive - they're rare, everyone can use them, and a lot of builds can benefit from them. The same thing is true of LotGs.
-
I guess it all depends on what aspect of the toon will make it more survivable.
For example a toon that uses defence as its main form of mitigation would gain more from slotting IO sets that enhance that (e.g. Shield toons or Ice tanks) rather than using Purple IOs. The same could be said for other toons that have no defence and do not require lots of recharge, e.g. a hover blaster with a good attack chain soft capping ranged defence.
On the other hand some toons are more survivable if a certain power is more readily available so the huge recharge bonuses from Puples sets is more useful. The main examples I can think of would be an Illusion controller having Phantom Army out or a Fire Aura toon having Healing Flames ready or a Warshade having Eclipse available.
And not all Purple sets are that expensive. For example the Confuse and Sleep sets are cheaper than the others IIRC.
So I guess my 0.02inf is it all depends on the toon, the build and how they are played.
Edit - damn my slow fingers! -
hehe - you just need to share your Vodka NH!
Quote:Hell, I'm one of the DJ's and even I'm impressed with that line up, and that's after being live for just over a month.

I love Europe for loads of reasons:
* Real Chocolate (as someone as already said!)
* Great food (Schnitzel and Boxty are two musts!)
* Diversity, everywhere is so different and interesting. London is different to Paris is different Berlin is different Amsterdam is different to Helsinki.
* London itself is so diverse and completely random with so much to do and see
* Vodka from Scotland, Russia and Poland
* Comedians - I think we have some of the best stand up comedians in the world
*The Welsh - not Welsh myself but have always loved visiting there and my partner's family. Particularly love Swansea and the Welsh country side
To name just a few bits -
Those are all absolutely brilliant! I think the Sheep resistance one is my fav

hehe
Probably wise there will be pulling of hair and nashing of teath -
Quote:Oooo! Your getting busy Coin! Don't let the fame go to your head though heheIndeed! After the successful trial sets for the three above-mentioned nutballs, Kiko, Escalus and Mrs ?, we now have at least 2 more DJ's due to start trials soon!
Both Evil Janet and Frank should hopefully be filling the Sunday 6-8 slot and Wednesday 7-9 slot respectively and we are hoping tonight to see the first proper trial set for Night Hornet 9pm, now that he's sorted out his tech troubles
Make sure to tune in and support your fave member of the GGRRR SG!
And I thought I was the fave member of GGRRR *sulks* hehe -
Bring back the days of the original Power Rangers and the cartoons Thundercats, Transformers, Danger Mouse, Defenders of the Earth, Jayce and Wheeled Warriors, Alvin the Chipmunks, Captain Planet, Dungeons and Dragons, Muppet Babies and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Thank you for at least acknowledging some our posts Avatea.
Like I said over there I think its a good idea to have pre-order bonuses and I actually like the look of enhancements.
The bee thats in my bonet is that developer time has been used to create content for the game that the EU servers don't even have the potential of getting and thus creating a difference between the NA/EU games.
I just think its a bad prescident to set. -
Quote:You could be right GG - but Im just trying to figure out time frames and at what point these would have to be planned/designed/tested by the Devs and even before then the potential idea of exclusive preorder items being thought of and brain storming ideas of what these could be. In game items would have to be a joint Dev/Marketing venture.According to Black Pebble, this is a recent addition to the GR marketing plan, so it's unlikely War Witch would have known about it when she posted here.
Plus negotiating with Gamestop (or other retailers) wouldn't just happen over night (although War Witch may not necessarily be involved in that). -
Im on the moaning band wagon but War Witch must have know about these exclusive enhancements when she was posting in the EU gets shafted thread as the enhancements would have required to be designed by the devs as part of GR.
-
Quote:I am glad to see that you are promoting GR in ways to try and attract new Players. The 2 questions I have are:
A) What guarantee that a place like Gamestop (Which carries very little in the way of PC games last time I stopped in their store) is going to actually push and promote GR heavily, especially in their franchise stores.
B) What about the statement that was made that all in game items will be available through the special $7 pack to those that pre-purchased the game.
I'm not made about this at all, but from a long time player standpoint, that second question is a big factor, mostly because of a trust level that it instills in us. I understand that situations change, and I love the idea, but that second statement is where the biggest problem with a promotion like this comes in.
thanks for your response in advance.Quote:Is this the pack that we can upgrade by spending 10 more Dollars on?
