A different sort of question- all this talk about being able to run Ultra in "low", "medium", or "high" modes...what will the interface be like? If you had a weak card, would it let you attempt to turn it on in a high mode? What would happen if you did? No video at all?

Quote:If you were a super-IOed defense-heavy tanker with few attacks, what do you do with your doppleganger? Dance?Assuming the AI was even reasonably smart, the AV would have your powers, your abilities, about ten times your health and double your damage. You'd have ... an insp tray. Oddly, you might have an easier time defeating your AV doppleganger if you were an SOed low level Blaster than if you were an IOed level 50 Scrapper.

Quote:If you have the option of 'returning' attachments back to the sender, it might make more sense to return the 1 inf, then report the spam. If everyone did that, it would fill up the spammer's limit of 20 emails-with-attachments faster than they could physically hit the 'delete' button. You say that like it's a bad thing...
You'd basically be getting paid to click two buttons "take money button" and the "report spam" button.I wouldn't mind that heh...
Sure it'd be 1 influence but with their energy/time, they might send ya 1 million by the time they stop -
Given that any CoX 2 would presumably run concurrently with CoX 1 for a time; how about the ability to transfer characters between them? Preferably both ways, although mapping from 2 to 1 would presumably be more difficult than 1 to 2.

Quote:People I know have been using a simple rule, and it seems to help even with PUG's, once explained:95% of the Tarot buffing I see is in one of two forms:
(A) Randomly hitting people, especially low-levels, as they mill around Ms. Liberty
(B) Everyone Tarot buffing each other before starting a mission/TF and then promptly forgetting to ever refresh it except for sporadic re-buff flurries where half the people waste their buff on someone who still has it and then forgets to try again on someone else after it refreshes.
In short, I wouldn't worry about it. I've never asked, been asked nor seen anyone else really ask for it. It's just a nice perk but nothing anyone really invests much effort in.
When on a team, always use the Tarot buff on the person below you on the team list (bottom person buffs the top person). Avoids duplications. If anyone throws a buff at a later point, everyone else knows whom they are supposed to buff without needing to ask around.
Someone gets designated as the 'second-buffer' if anyone doesn't have the pack, which is infrequent. -
The problem I had with fighting Lord Winter without being SK'ed to 50 is that his summoned critters seem to be summoned at the level of whatever he's aggroed at. Since there was always at least one 50 around, my non-SKed mid-30's characters were getting shot by purple-con Northern Lights.

Quote:Presumably, the idea is that players don't want to 'finish' a floor only to have to run back through an empty level to get to the same elevator they started at.I always did wonder who keeps hiring the architect that thinks it's a good idea to make elevators that only go between two floors, and put them on opposite sides of the building.
Could solve that by making the maps into loops, so you end up near where you started. I've seen plenty of real-world office buildings with cubes/offices on the edges and a solid block of conference rooms in the center, effectively forming a loop.
Or put elevators at both ends that can either access any floor, or at least let you choose between 'up' and 'down'. Possibly include clues on one floor that let you access the floor with the main objective on it, and you've got to randomly pick floors until you find it. Real office elevators can have access-controlled floors with cards, codes, and such. -
Quote:No snow in Seattle either--just lots of rain as usual. It was especially cold a few weeks ago though. Rain is a good I think. It moderates the temperature. Cools things down, warms things up.
Well, we can *see* snow in the mountains...but then, we can see that all year. -
Quote:Had that happen once as well. The Northern Lights and Lord Winter being able to spawn camp the rez point is really lame, but I've only had that happen once so far.
Otherwise I really like this event.
If everyone stops trying to rez, will they eventually wander off? There wasn't enough left on the timer to really tell. -
Last night (on Triumph) we had a run with a very annoying problem: Lord Winter ended up standing inside the 'hospital' area; my Empath would die again before standing up from the previous death.
I guess there really is no way around that...if the hospital had drones, it would be too easy to drag him into them. -

Just had something odd happen, don't know if this is a bug or not:
In Port Oaks, on Victory server. Winter Lord appeared, nobody else around to fight it. Found it hanging out in the piers near the Arena. Just for laughs, I decided to lure it into the drones. That worked, and they killed it.
Then, the large present/portal to Lord Winter's realm opened. I went through and ran around (did not try to take Lord Winter by myself). I did NOT think that beating the WL with a drone should have triggered the portal- I was only kidding around. Is this a bug?
For that matter, I thought he was not supposed to spawn in Port Oaks at all? -
If you can get a friend with a non-targeted area-effect attack to join in the mission, you may be able to get it dealt with quicker than waiting for a GM.
Agreement on how nice it would be to have a /mobunstuck command, though. -
Just because there are a huge number of Invidia 8800's out there: any idea if those will be able to enable much of Ultra Mode? Even if it's just for walking down empty streets on a low-population server?

This is a real silly question, but:
With the FPS on, there is the frame rate number, then another set of numbers in parenthesis, something like (17m/m). What do the parenthetical numbers mean? -

Quote:Anyone have any clever tricks on how they organize their trays or the powers within the trays?Just click on the tiny little plus sign at the top of the power tray (far right, past salvage tab). To close extra trays, right click in them. You can also shape them.
Or did I just open up a big can of worms? -
Quote:King's Row usually turns out the same way- the big fights tend to be on the street in front of Blue Steel, not on the plaza around him, because of the drones. This is done in order to have an invasion for the players. Stand in the plaza in front of the tram between Bastion and Luminary to fight, and the police drones take out everything they can; there's little that will destroy your enjoyment of an invasion more than the third or fourth time you get a Rikti/zombie down to about 5% and have a police drone defeat it, swallowing all the XP and rewards in the process.
Always amusing when a truck drives through the battle. -
I must have lucked out last night in the Hollows (Triumph server). Got all four banners and the GM in a single event with the same character. Was not aware of any planning, just followed the mob when one went down.

Some of the first PnP characters my brother and I (we're twins) wrote up were twin energy projectors; they were vulnerable to each others SFX (badly missed shots were painful). They also had a single "combined" attack that did 150% the active points either could throw alone (had to stand together and both make a to-hit roll against same target, or attack fizzled).
