That sounds about right... but I too am not sure for the same reason. Also, it would seem to make sense that Praetorian characters don't unlock any epics since you STILL couldn't make one in Praetoria. I believe it is safe to say you will need to level a character in both the Rogue Isles and Paragon to get access to VEATs and HEATs (respectively).
-
It's also possible that the difficulty level is set high on purpose so that it can be gradually nerfed down. I think if they had gone the other way (making it a bit too easy), there wouldn't be such an out pouring of people making comments and it would be less likely that groups got buffed. Of course, some folks would complain if there was a setting so that CoH spat out money while you played... but that is beside the point.

Too funny.

I think that if people didn't know the AI for enemies was required to ride the short bus by now... there might be an issue. After all, if you throw a boulder at an enemy and hide, they ALL pile up on you fighting each other to be a little closer. How smart is that? -
Quote:I do this... EVERY TIME (it seems like). I don't know what my problem is, I am running up to the moat, I know it is there... I suddenly become a moron and jump... and mere moments after tapping the spacebar I think "oh crap, I am going to land in theĀ" SPLISH! "not again.I know the feeling...that bloody moat in the middle of Nova Praetoria gets me every time. While I could easily clear it with my Primal Earth version character, my praetorian always hits the wall on the other side, and the wall is just high enough that I can't jump over it out of the water with ninja run and so thus must usually revert to using the jet pack, or swim to the side and go around.
*sigh*
I swear Emperor Cole put it there to laugh every time someone splashes down in it....and come to think of it, it is pretty funny.
Touche Tyrant, Touche.

Quote:This is KEY!Wiki mentions:
"IMPORTANT: MNU files must have at least one line containing a carriage-return at the end of the line above the first "Menu" entry. It can be blank, a full comment, or just the comment tag (//) or any number of those lines otherwise it will not function."
Unclear in the OP's pastings whether or not this was already taken into account in their file.
I had everything else RIGHT when I made one up... but deleted the comment lines since I didn't think I needed them. As soon as I put them back, it worked flawlessly.
OH, another note: Popmenus don't like to bind things. I don't know why, they just don't.
Also, to make the macro this: '/macro Dark "popmenu Sanstone"' or '/macro Dark popmenu Sanstone' should work.
(Edit: This all reminds me that I need to edit my PopMenu to add [Shadowy Presence].) -
Quote:I like the idea... but am opposed to an "opt in" option, say in the menu.I like the idea a lot. So I'm all for it.
But I think adding an 'opt-in' of some sort would be a good idea. That way people that prefer not to mess with something like this wouldn't be bothered.
However, one could set up the system in such a way that it would be possible to avoid the "Vendetta" tagging you, but it would have to be an in-game reason. Maybe after you acquire a defeat badge a new "Contract Killer" enemy mob could spawn... if you kill him you skip the Vendetta, otherwise he reports back to the enemy group... and it is ON! -
Why not something like "Hidden Agendas" then? It is far more direct. Using something like "Shadow Shift" to my mind would be a show about some darkness based character, or literally about shadows, and the things that may change within them.
While I can see what you are getting at... I don't think getting symbolic in a title is really the way to go. A title needs to immediately evoke something that the reader/viewer can tie to the premise, or at least something related. Exceptions lie in situations where you are deliberately deceiving the viewer for the sake of plot, or purposeful non sequitor titles.
Name five good shows/comics who's titles are allusions, or purely symbolic representations of the premise.
A good example of a serial type show that has an evocative yet indirect title would be Tales from the Crypt. Immediately, you know the show will be somewhat macabre (from crypt) that it may involve stories (tales) and that those stories will likely be macabre (from). None of the segments in that show were related really (okay, there may have been one or two "to be continued" ones, but I don't know) yet the title still reflects the entire idea of the show. -

Maybe I am mistaken, but Control sets aren't exactly known for their damage... (with a notable exception). And I LOVE [Jolting Chain] I think it is one of the better and more innovative control powers out there.

A good place to ask that question about creating a costume would be in the Costume Re-Design thread linked to in my sig.. HUGELY helpful costume-loving folks 'round there.

Nox and I will be designing an AE arc in the very near future (in fact he may have just started it) that will hopefully set things right... in a manner of speaking. I am not giving any hints, but it should allow us to feel right with the world and our hero-ing path.

Agreed. I can't see that word outside of a religious context... which I think would be at odds with gaining a following and/or the actual stories you plan to do.

Quote:I disagree with you A LOT... but this here is certainly NOT one of those times. Not everything in the game has to be about maximizing rewards, or getting the most exp per second, or number crunching till everything is perfect.
It reminds me of when I would run TFs with my friends on a character who had outleveled it... and got 0XP for my trouble. But it was fun, because I was doing it with friends, and we could laugh about the various trials and tribulations along the way. Obviously, some people's MMV. -
Quote:...which is why I hope the sets like Traps and Devices and Ninjutsu get some options via Power Customization to look more Mutanty or Magicy.I think I explained away my own point before you had a chance the moment I mentioned Power Customization...Quote:It would be a whole lot less restrictive than demon summoning, and I support it.
I withdraw my objection if and only if the various weapons are given customizations that lend themselves to Mutanty and Magicy origins. -
Quote:Yes, I blame the current Batman as seen in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, for my homosexuality. Movies that came out years after I did.Wait, what happened to the research that says the media (movies and such) are turning guys into effeminate pansies and gays... Are you trying to tell me Batman is gay?
-
The other option would be to wait until existing characters gain access to Praetoria and street sweep level 1s in Nova Praetoria...

I'da been PISSED were I in your shoes, guys. In fact, I would have probably requested my money back, said screw that, and bought the game online.
This crap about the 20th sounds sketchy to me, considering the oficial launch date everywhere, as far as I know, was the 17th.
I would be very suspect about them changing the date for what looks like no reason. I hope they aren't giving you guys the run around. -
In other words, Skarmony, you can revert to the original colors of any of these icons by navigating to the directory in which CoH is installed and then finding:
./data/GUI/Icons/Powers (I am not at my home PC to double check, but I think that is the right path.)
And then manually deleting the files there that you wish to. For example, the Electric Control ones.
If, on the other hand, you meant you want the original colors... but with the Symbols Vanden used, well, that is something I am unable to assist you with. -
What this NEEDS, IMO is a drop down legend in the search window so people know what the "F" the colors actually mean.
I have no qualms about this improvement aside from that. -
I think that would be a good combo.
I shall have to play my MA/Regen... he's a Level 40 now. I really hope the changes have positive effects on him.
