I like this idea sounds fun and a bit different from the standard 8 man team affair
-
So far I've had no real problems with the zombies in general. My dark/kin corruptor did seem particularly week against them.
Its very much a case of certain power sets do better than others. -
Thats exactly my point were only on the second official day of the event and people are complaining that they havent managed to get X badge or havn't seen a invasion yet give it time atleast give it another couple of days before brakeing out the pitch forks.
as to camping out all day for a event who says you have to i certinly dont i keep my eye out for one while im on but im not sat in zone 24/7 waiting and i've still managed to catch 3 (one after another) -
How can you say its failed there's still plenty of time to come face to face with the undead.
-
I've been on and off since about 10 and cant say I've seen so far on villains
-
The Key to surviving zombies seems to be to keep moving if you stand still they start to pop out the ground and aggro on you (not fun if your squishy) but keep dashing about only stopping to unleash a attack seems to work well.
-
Has any one else noticed the number of NPC that mention something about a strange plague or feeling ill i wonder if its a reference to the Zombies
-
still not working (for me atleast)
*edit*
never mind working now -
Cant say I'm loving your suggested replacements tho i will agree that the anime armour is a naff and should be replaced with a more anime styled armour and the current anime armour should be added as a standard costume

I know this has probably been suggested a few times before, I couldn't find one on it so sorry if it is too repetitive.
Ok if the pets for MM's are somewhat difficult to make customisable how about if they are altered based on the MM's origin. For example, A Ninja MM, for mutation origin: a sort of dark lizard ninja pack of creatures, for science origin: Cyborg ninjas, for natural the standard ninjas, for tech: Ninjas with sort of high tech equipment night vision goggles , laser guided arrows or such like and finally for magic spirit ninjas sort of ghostly versions of standard ninjas that perhaps hover. And for bot', it could be stone monsters for magic, standard for natural hovering high tech types for technology cyborgs again for science, gorilla like creatures for mutation and the like all using the same basic model just altering the clothing and skin dev side not player side, anyway just a strange idea that I was pondering.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this would still have the same problems as strait forward pet customisation plus it would have the added problem of players wanting to be one origin but have the pet model of a different origin. -
(I hate legal arguments there so dam confusing)
Right not sure how similar this is but a while back Paypal opened up a EU division and all that was required to move from US account to EU account was agreeing to new terms and conditions.
Now surly there was data protection issues involved with that move and if its just a case of getting users to agree to new T&Cs that should be easy anuff you have to agree to the current ones every time you log in any ways. -
oh right not been to the RP section for a wee while

There's no Asian servers any more from what i understand City of hero never went down all that well in the East possibly because it didn't have that grind for leet gear element that many of the big MMOs have (wonder how it would do now what with purple sets and inventions)
-
To be honest this isn't the same discussion (kind of any ways)
What Liz is suggesting is that they combine the server list and so throw open all the CoH servers for every one regardless of who they pay there subs to. At most this would require a global name change there would be no need for character name changes unless the player decided to hop server.
I'm all for this idea. it pretty much solves every ones problems, more potential people to team with, more slots to create alts on, it doesn't brake up groups of friends and even the legal issue may be some what muted if subs were still payed to the relevant territory. -
Im sure posi or some one mentioned a Serverles idea was being looked at but my search fu fails me.
though this warning from lighthouse concerning server transfers dose kind of touch on it
[ QUOTE ]
IMPORTANT! Customers who are interested in taking advantage of the Character Transfer service should know that it is possible in the future that we may make changes to the game that would remove the need to Transfer servers. One example of such a change would be a server-less game configuration where all players can group with anyone, without the restriction of which server they play on. We are not committing to this server-less configuration, and in fact there are no plans to implement a server-less environment this calendar year, but because we are charging a fee for these services, it is important that our players understand that the possibility exists. We want to be very clear in this regard so that those who do decide to make use of a Server Transfer, when it becomes available, understand that they may not need it in the future.

/Sonic Masterminds

Those will never happen, unless they remove all the debuffs.
(FF is only def, but has no debuff whatsoever).
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont see why not poison and dark are almost all debuff the above sets are just a mix of buff and debuff -

why are ppl still discussing about a merge, there something called a global server.
if they implanted just one global server, any problem with merging servers or anything els would just blow away.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, sort of - the "problem" of all the people saying they'd leave if toon name clashes meant they'd need to rename would certainly be blown away as they all cancelled their subs.
Server responsiveness would be blown away too; Freedom alone can barely handle its current population - how well do you think a global server would do if it had to handle Freedom's population and that of all other US and EU servers combined?
[/ QUOTE ]
with servers made for the 150.00 players, it's not weird they don't spent more money on a server then needed.
but if they take one strong one, one that can take at least 40.000 players, then it's a lesser problem.
they cal always begin with one server, having a second one is an open option but not yet necessary.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its not quite that strait forward getting a better server would cost more possibly a lot more as computer equipment doesn't tend to increase in performance equal to its stated power or cost for that matter as a example
a P4 4ghz PC with 8GB of Ram is not four times as powerful as a P4 1Ghz PC with 2GB of ram. Common sense says it should be after all the hardware is double but its not really because things like software place there own limitations on what the hardware can do. and its even more complicated where servers are concerned -
i believe they are actually planning the implementation of a single global or serviles environment i would assume if they were doing this they would have some kind of way around the duplication of names (some kind of invisible character perhaps) i would also assume they would have some way around the potential server melt perhaps ones could be spanned across multiple servers to lessen the load or something
-
I would like to see a hero side MM variety as at least then we mite see more primaries given to villain MMs as to a AT name what about tactician
-
That shouldn't effect VEATS tho as they don't use shields
-
Cant say i've ever had a real problem with consume though if there was going to be changes made to is i much prefer the idea put forward by Stupid_Fanboy and then refined slightly by BillZBubba on the US boards.
this
[ QUOTE ]
completely rework consume as a pbaoe end draining slow and/or immobilize attack.
It works thematically, it would increase mitigation and it would allow us to utilize burn more effectively.
Through concentration, the Fiery Aura reaches out and leeches heat energy from all surrounding enemies. The heat is returned to you as endurance while leaving your enemies shivering and slowed if not immobilized due to shock.

Ok i'm going to regret this but i'm going to assume your not troll and treat your post like the uninformed thing that it is.
so
you say

champions online its COX 2
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong cryptic don't have the IP any more there for it cant be COH2 also champion online strangely anuff uses the champions RPG background so will bare no relation to CoH and its background
[ QUOTE ]
same company
[/ QUOTE ]
true but that go's for nothing its just a name almost every one who worked on CoH moved to NCNC
[ QUOTE ]
more expirence
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong our Dev's have been with CoH for a long time some of them (most?) sine day 1 while COs Dev team have really just started
[ QUOTE ]
more budget
[/ QUOTE ]
are you sure? i cant find any links for either "champions online" or "city of" current budget care to supply some so i can take a look
[ QUOTE ]
alot of improvemnt
[/ QUOTE ]
I cant really comment on this as while i feel I'm pretty familiar with CoH and what it has to offer me as a gamer i only have some very bad looking videos and a list of supposid features until I've played it i couldn't say. I can only assume your in the champions beta and so can directly compare the 2 games
[ QUOTE ]
why do you hate cryptic?
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally i don't hate cryptic hell if it wasn't for them there would be no CoH this doesn't mean I'm gonna instantly abandon CoH for something that's unproven
[ QUOTE ]
ncsoft just keeping it alive
[/ QUOTE ]
really? are you sure? NCsoft have the lions share of the Devs that made CoH the game it is and they have been expanding and improving on the game constantly its under NCsofts ownership that the Dev team has expanded (unlike cryptic where it was reduced to only 14-15 people) so if anything the bye out is good for CoH as its getting money injected into it
[ QUOTE ]
i don't hate ncsoft i mean i fill sorry for them about the money issues that they have
[/ QUOTE ]
Ncsoft aren't having any more money troubles than any other publisher or company for that matter. True they laid of a few people that will be missed but this was part of a much larger reorganisation of how NCsoft do business in the west.
[ QUOTE ]
but cox cant survive this 2 new games
[/ QUOTE ]
i believe one of the 3 super hero games will fail but i don't believe it will be CoH it already has a strong user base who enjoy the game while the 2 new games are both unproven add to the fact both appear to be aimed at the console market, Now i don't know about any one else but i certainly don't play a console game for months on end (definitely not 3-4 years). Hell your lucky if a console lasts 3-4 years there was already whispers of a new Xbox last year and considering that the 360 came out in 2005 i wouldn't be surprised to see a new xbox the last quarter of 2009 or first of 2010.
All in all yes ill probably try CO but i rather doubt it'll capture my interest like CoH has and ill definitely not be trying DC as i think it looks horrid
finally a question
Is your name Jack? -
not sure aboy a full human what about just a torso and maybe a head ?
-
As the -KB from Kinetic Crush is a set bonus it'll be present regardles of weather Repel is on or off
Also it's just occured to me that if you dont fancy repel you could instead take electron haze and slot it the same way giving you the same -KB bonus
