As an example you might be familiar with Enos, I respec'd Maker into Aid Other when he was in the 30s I think, dropping Repair, and it was much, much easier to manage that way. Also lets you help the teammates in a pinch. Repair unfortunately doesn't do that for you.

Opinions vary though, as you've noticed. So take this as just one option if you're really stuck for power selections or slots

    Hmm...da Maker has Aid Other...

Well...da Maker IS pretty bad [censored]....

You have given me something serious to consider DH...something serious indeed. *puts on Monocle and Tophat* Serious indeed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol Well I dunno that I'd declare Maker to be a bad [censored], but I appreciate the compliment, sir! Maker is more of a utility guy. I play him when I'm looking more to play a support kinda role instead of leading the charge. And it works well for me in those situations.
  2. If you use a teleport room for your meeting room, you can use beacons as your zone monitors in that manner. Saw that in a base once actually. I can't say for sure if placing them uses energy or control though if they're not in use.
  3. [ QUOTE ]

My other point about attack chains was that you do not always have to be attacking. A little gap here or there is not the end of the world. You should have enough mitigation with your holds to not have to worry so much about a brief moment of inaction.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The way I see it, there are already powersets and ATs that cater to people who like to stand around waiting for something to do. We didn't need Doms turned into that as well.

It just didn't feel as aggressive to me when slowed down. That's not exactly a dominating stance IMO.

Technically we *may* be getting Thermal.

Also heard rumours that /Sonic may be in the works...

Oh, and Pyromania makes one crazy as hell. Just take the TF2 Pyro for instance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Don't you tease me.

I've been wanting /Sonic for MMs ever since Thugs/ came out.

    Please don't tease me...

Are you still waiting for that Super Strength stalker too?

Oh I'm one the select few. One of the select few that Castle would like to shank in the back when no one's looking.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think I might be on my way to getting on that list at the rate I'm going over in that i15 thread. >.>

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, yes there are few us going WTF? But again I think the point many are missing is this is an AT REVAMP, not a buff, not a few changes, but the complete re-design of an entire AT. That's going to ruffle a few feathers, no matter how well (0r not) its done. I'm trying to stay calm about it..but overall its' leaving me a little cold.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, you're right, and to be honest, I'm pretty much done caring about Dom changes at this point. Playing Doms was fun while it lasted, but I'm not interested in this new direction of normalization. And I'm not interested in seeing people complain that my beef is solely about PSW when it isn't, and I've stated as much over and over.

To me, it feels like an entirely new AT now really with the emphasis on everything being heavier and slower. Changing everything so all the sets are more alike is the approach that was taken for PvP as well when Castle decided to fix that, and I was against that as well, so I shouldn't be surprised that his idea of fixes is incompatible with my own.

I'm just continuously amazed at the ability he displays for alienating some of the player base in the hopes of possibly drawing in enough to take their place.
  7. lol It's funny because it's true!

Someone needs to make a costume for "We Did Not Intend-Man" now

    Edited for a typo >.>
  8. We all have different views on that idea. I figure if they're dead, I don't need to control them.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Rage could probably use a nerf as a standalone power, but Jab, Punch, and Haymaker should really be buffed simultaneously if it was. They're pretty lame as standalone attacks.

Not that it will anytime soon. I wouldn't mind it having a look though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please don't ever, ever, ever suggest anything like this ever again. Castle's idea of fixing all the Dom powers was to double their recharge time and Endurance use (or more) to go with a damage increase. He's in favor of making heavier, slower attack chains it seems.

Don't give him the idea that this would ever be a good idea for brutes.
  10. We all go through that from time to time there, Doc. No worries.

Of the 4 SoA, Fortunata solos the best. Not because she kills the fastest. It's more because she has the defense, mez protection and CONTROL to counter most things you can see when you solo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Who cares about control when the target you face is dead? I understand where you're coming from, but controls or no controls dead is dead regardless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Death is the best debuff/control there is.
  12. I forgot one important note there -- make sure the room you choose can accept defensive items or the slow field is a no-go.
  13. Are you referring to the grey counters being used as the floor of each story of the barracks? If so, they're listed under "Desks" in the Base Editor. Should be among the first dozen or so items from the left in that menu.

It was 16 before. Again? Where's the note or are you one of the "select few"?

The Brute: A ten ton bowling ball on a flat stretch of road. You can push it around, but it takes a while to get the ball rolling. It damages cars and squishes yappy little dogs, but isn't all that impressive. Then you come to a slope in the road and it takes off, picking up more and more speed wiping out anyone and anything in it's path.

The Stalker: a ten ton bowling ball suspended twenty feet in the air. When someone walks underneath, BAM! Then you push it around for a little bit kinda like the brute, except there's no slope to roll down. They did however leave you the crane. You pick it up again, and BAM!

Two fun and valid playstyles, two fun AT's. The brute is rolling cloud of destruction. The stalker is the precision assassin with a ST nuke. Up to you which you like better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow. That may be the best way of describing it I've ever seen. Got a good laugh too. Two thumbs up.

Excuse me while I go wipe the coffee off my monitor now...
  16. My first MM to 50 was my Bots/FF, after attempting a Ninja/Storm. The Nin/Storm made it to 22 and has since been deleted. The Bots/FF is very forgiving to learn with and once slotted is practically unkillable. Keep everyone bubbled and you'll be providing your teams a level of mobile fortification and fire support that should probably be illegal.

Please don't make the mistake of Ninja/Storm right off the bat.

    >.>

    Seriously. Please don't.

  17. My recommendation is that if you're going to share the recipes, you might as well craft the enhancements and store those instead. You can put 100 in each enhancement table.

Alright so here's the deal, as the title suggests I am new to Doms. I was toying around in mids today and realized I have no f'ing idea at what I'm doing and could use some help in the form of advice, sample builds, etc. I rolled a Grav/Elec dom (mostly for concept) and would love to eventually slot sets into him, make a perma-dom out of him, and PvP. Any aid in this would be much appreciated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do whats fun and just to tell you perma-dom soon will be worthless with I15. Right now none of us truly knows whats going to happen with doms and what soon will be the best way to slot one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

Seriously, Doms on Live and Doms on i15 Test right now are two very different animals.

I'll take VEATs over Khelds anytime, including the run up to 24.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't like it the first time, but the second and third 1-24 Soldier runs I did were really fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My first experience to 24 was a Widow, and she felt like a /sr scrapper on steroids to me. Was a very nice, smooth run, teamed or solo.
  20. For Widows (haven't leveled a Spider much yet) you're essentially getting a Stealthed toxic-DoT claws/SR blapper (possibly with Psy powers on top of that) that is all but guaranteed to make its teammates better in every way. What's the downside exactly?

I'll take VEATs over Khelds anytime, including the run up to 24.
  21. Each Slow Field covers a 1 square area. I believe they're crafted on the Advanced Worktable or Advance Forge. Each one chews up 200 Energy and 10 Control though, so remember to account for that in your planning.
  22. There is indeed artificial gravity generated by the station.

As for backgrounds, windows, and stuff like that, I plan on at least one "room with a view" such as it were, done by building a room within one of the larger blacked-out rooms. That's the plan for the airlock/hangar room at least, and I'd like to have an office that looks out into space as well, done the same way.
  23. Thanks! This base is still on the smallish side, I know, but it has plenty of room to grow, plenty more that can be done to enhance the ideas I have started there.
  24. Here is a link to a slideshow of screenies for the House of Heroes Satellite HQ on the Virtue server. It currently sits on the Small Secure Location plot (12x16).

Just about everything for the base was earned by Prestige generated from my own toons, other than about 82K from the only other current member. I've tried to maximize the space available to me and provide a nice mix of functionality and decorative elements to create a space that will provide both practical use and RP space for all members and coalition allies.

For more information, feel free to ask.
