  1. Hmm, if u r leveling ur toon, maybe psy scream is usefull while u dont have PSW, then u will not use it, u just have to spam continously PSW...

    Bout Subdue, I wouldnt skip this power, you will have the option of catching runnin enemies with this power. Also it has a chance of inmob, nice animation time and good dmg for this set (considering it is ranged too)...

    IMHO, your attacks should be dart psi, mind probe, subdue and psy shockwave... Add drain psyche and maybe the sniper for the +rech and you are done.

  2. LR isnt nearly as good as PSW... just say u can fire off 9 times PSW per once LR... and it is psi dmg, and it is mezzes added, and has toggle drop...

    That said, earth/ would pair well with a secondary which deals best dmg, since it seems like the primary is control enough... I would go better for /psi or /fire if ur primary is earth/, but thats my opinion...
  3. Lets spread some speculation and opinion as well here...

    1.Earth/: (lookin at controller set) PvE wise seems very solid, a hold able at lvl1 (so u can center ur sooners picks at assault set), and almost all his powers do -def, which is a great improvement for earlies teams, where accuracy isnt very high. In controllers, it is known as very good control set, but low dmg... Thats exactly what we need as a primary, so I can see it working really nice.
    Skipables: crystals, the AoE inmob and maybe earthquake if it gives knockback (not if it is knockdown as i though it is)

    PvP wise, it has very nasty -def buffs, but u know what?? U need to hit to start stackin debuffs, and it checks smashing defense (which is the only defense we will face in pvp), so it will be hard to hit in high lvls... Also the hold has above 2 secs activation, which is harder and slower for stackin... It cant compete with mind (1.1s) or fire (1s) holds, imo...
    It has a ranged stun, but AoE, which means an accuray penalty...
    It has a gem: quicksand. Properly slotted, it can slow to a crawl an enemy, and the best thing is it can be made perma... And in lvl6 (wow)...

    My opinion?? Good for Sirens and low lvl pvp...

    /elec: PvE wise, this set can have sleeps in their attacks attached, and lot of -end. Well, it will not be the best hitter, but it can give some very usefull tricks... Still there are some many sets better (i think), but maybe it isnt a bad one... If Lightin Rod is in, OMG, but I seriously doubt it...
    PvP wise, it will depends all in the self buff lvl16 it has... If it is BU, it will be really nice... If PB still good for the sapper dom born: PB + Shortcircuit + PS = 0 end on enemy... that hurts...
    If they give CP (conserve power), then no chance to play it for pvp I doubt it could works since in pvp it is better to do dmg than to drain enemies... Maybe usefull in a team pvp, not sure...

    Overall, im not very satisfied with these sets, I would have liked more others...

    Lets see how devs do it finally, and then we could start oficially the speculation with some data

  4. Also, teenies and twenties are hard for doms, they start pwnin at high lvls...

    If that is the doubt, keep vines.

    Personally, I would go to other power, but if u have to choose between these 2, go for vines.

  6. Well, let me give my opinion.

    All this kind of powers (I mean AoE Holds powers) are more a panic button than an offensive power, and when I press it, I like it working. Do u have another panic button?? Do u mind to dont have a panic button?? I dont mind to die, that fills my fun bar (yeah the dark brown one, over the xp).

    More things to think: ur secondary dont have PowerBoost. I use to take out these kind of powers if I dont have PB to support it, I dont need a big mob hold for 15 secs and then all turning to me angry... If u can kill them before the 15-20secs, then go for it, but usually isnt time enough, even for permadoomers (wow, what a nice name...)

    IMHO, plants/ have more than enough control with seeds, carrion, the pet and a big +recharge

    Could we know what u want to get in ur build instead vines?? Maybe we can discuss what is more interesting for you, and give u best feedback.

  7. Hmm, not sure where u readed 25% is enough for permadom, but Im affraid u are wrong.

    Check the thread bout 'PermaDom' here in Doms forums to see a link to a guide of how to get permadom.

    PS: Just a number, u need roughly 70% +rech with hasten on top.

    Can u put the same IO many times in the same power?? I dont think so (no at least with set IOs).

    Also it is a proc, It would be pure random... Despite of the good/bad to have an attack in a MM is...

    PS: Ive heard this IO is bugged, actually some ppl says it is autohit. I can assure it isnt autohit in PvP, not sure in PvE.
  9. IMO, u shouldnt roll a dominator thinking since starting in permadom... U should play it, not gimping ur build using most important powers and only when u hit the 40s, and have the enoughs slots necesary to permadom, respec ur toon and go for it...

    Remember that to hit permadom, u should have:

    1) Lot of money. Even more.

    2) Being lvl 40 (or at least, very late 30s) to have enough slots to put the sets u need for it.

  11. I usually solo on relentless with my domies when I get stamina... Domies are fast soloing, and usually, safer than others ATs.

    PS: btw, seeds is the lvl8 power in plants/
  12. Talkin only from PvP point of view, I feel illusion/ would work best there... A fearing pet, some pets for more dmg, an invis power, and all of them checks psi defense...

    Thats why I suggest illusion/.

    Ah, to the ppl who says that is not a dominator set, we dominators build domination faster with the secondary, I dont need anythin else than my hold and maybe another power to spam in my primary set

    PS: only from PvP wise this comment.
  13. This build seems a lil gimped as starscreamer stated before...

    1) Wormhole must be 6sloted ASAP. U can place there an stupefy set if u want a +rech set.

    2) Impale will be ur big hitter till ripper. It needs more love.

    3) 6slotin health and only 4slots in aid self makes me cry loud... really loud... dont make me suffer so much

    4) 4slots in stamina seems a bit overkill...

    well, in general, this isnt a build that I would do for any of my toons, I would try to hear starscreamers advices.

    Permadom numbers

    I totally missed this thread, Im happy Paj answered it linking to permadom guide (<3 _Brev_'s guide btw)...

    I just want to share u 1 though: If u think it is overkill 6 slotting hasten, think more in the amount of % global +rech you are earning...

    In numbers, ONLY the LotG:+rech can offer better performance to that... with only 1 slot u get 7.5% rech... No other set can offer u 6% rech for 3 slots.

    Without speaking that it is very much cheaper 3 common IOs than any set that can compare...

    Think bout it, to have higher window to press domination/hasten.

  16. It sounds good, maybe like a bonus of this kind: (the buffs are for all the members of the team)

    2 members on a team: status resistance/protection
    3 members on a team: +% resistance all dmg
    4 members on a team: +% health regen
    5 members on a team: +% recovery
    6 members on a team: +% ranged defense
    7 members on a team: +% accuracy
    8 members on a team: +% dmg.

    Yeah could work, but Im affraid this would make even more the 'fill my team plz' tells we have actually

    Although it sounds like an idea to involve all ATs in pvp.
  17. Although I agree, I just cant understand why devs have to 'buff' all ATs just becoz blasters get psi blasts...

    Wouldnt it be much easier dont give blasters psi blasts??

    Anyways, I agree with the idea of a buff or anything to meleers, although here I can see many issues with this buffs:

    1) Spines Scrappers would get that bonus?? They r deadly

    2) Stalkers are deadly actually, should they need a buff too??

    Overall, I agree with the idea of makin sumthin to make all AT's viable, although always there will be some builds that are 'better' than others, since all sets are different each other.

  19. It seems like we dominators gonna get earth control, which I dont like much, but it isnt so bad... I would like sumthin like 'Dark illusion', a similar set to illusions, but with some changes in F/X and swapping group invis with anything from dark set... that would be nice...

    Well, i liked the idea of a gadgets primary sets, part of /devices and part of /traps... that would be nice too...

    As the secondary, my bet goes to electricity assault, mixed of defender and brute powers... Which in fact I wouldnt like for a secondary...

    Maybe an archery assault?? I highly doubt it becoz its hard to go melee with an arrow... Maybe a dark assault, mixed of brutes/corrs... dunno, the secondary, I would like it would be an unique set for us alone

    Overall, seems really good this i12.

    If u are lvling ur toon, then yeah, becoz if not, u will have a harder travel to granite.

    Even when u are in ur 40s, I still usually dont go to granite if:
    a) U are soloing.
    b) U are not in troubles.
    c) U are regening faster than the incoming dmg(yeah, regen is what stones do best outsides of granite).

    Consider the downsides effects of granite armor, they are hards if you are alone.

    If not, If u gonna use ur brute always in big teams, and u never gonna play ur toon alone, then stay always on granite, but that isnt my toon.

  21. Many things:

    1) Barrage has a longer animation time. U can build fury faster enough using brawl/boxing/energy punch. U can save a power there. In ur fury building chain try to put 1 endrdx (brawl sloted with 1 endrdx).

    2) Also, get at lvl4 fast healing, untill u get QR and stamina it should be more than enough to defense urself soloing. Basically, swap MoB for FH, u will be longer fightin, and the difference will not be so big.

    3) When u get both QR and Stamina, ur slotting should be 2ACC, 3DMG, 1RECH.

    4) Not takin vertical movement travel until lvl47 is a bit hard, IMHO... Moving in grandville will be hard without it :S

    5) If ur not goin to fly travel, then get hurdle, u will be faster jumping with hurdle, and also u have taken SS as ur primary travel power...

    Asides this littles details, the build is pretty solid for me.

    hehe, the very first toon I rolled was The Defuser, a grav/psi dominator that had lost his arm defusing an atomic bomb... really nice story...

    What i saw from teamin with that toon is that TEAMS LEARN... I mean, the first time I used WH in a mob, the team went confused, like 'ey, wheres the bad boy i was punchin??'.

    Then I used in the 2nd time, and the team started to see whats the point of doin that... Something like 'Ey, if this dominator packs the enemies in a wall, then i can use my AoEs better...'

    Then after a mish u notice that all the team is awaiting, watching a corner, for u to open with wormhole...

    That is dominating...

    PS: be patient, grav/psi is a late bloomer, if ur team dont understand u, go for another team
