  3. Just wanted to say thanks for what you do here, and what you've put together....some really great bang for your buck in that budget build!

    All the best,

  4. Well first....ewww at all the folks attacking people b/c they are inconvenienced by the change. There is a vast difference between someone responding to an announcement and how it's impacted them vs responding to someone else who commented on the original topic, just for the sake of berating them or minimizing their frustrations. Sometimes these forums should give credit for Troll Class 101.

All that said, my biggest issue with this...and it may help save face here, is what exactly was the issue? If too much iXP was being granted, big deal? It's only a few days long and let's not forget that iXP has been screwed up the past few weeks giving very poor returns b/c of a glitch. Or the fact that we've been having to wait an inordinate amount of time to even start a trial until the most recent fix. If that's the reason this was postponed, super duper thumbs down.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to shift the time as needed and make my own schedule to an extent, but I could certainly understand the frustrations of those who have had to maneuver schedules and will now lose out on the new event due to the inability to shift hours again so quickly.

Could we have free server transfers this weekend instead? That shouldn't require any massive adjustments and would seemingly be an easily implemented compensation?

A game may just be a game, but the time and effort you put into planning for it and playing it is valuable....can't minimize that.

Great job! I wouldn't have thought it possible, honestly. Props to you!
  6. Edit: I'm a super noob. Had it in Scream, not Shriek. :: hangs head low:: That's what I get for respeccing at 11 at night and trying to test stuff out.

  7. Congratz!

    Care to post your build?
  8. Which version of Psy blast are Corrs going to get? Blaster? Def? A hybrid?

    ZOMG.
  9. I used to have the same problem on a Win XP 32-bit install with 4GB of RAM and on a Win7 64 install with 4GB of RAM (just upgraded OS, same hardware). I was on a Core 2 Dual Core CPU at the time with a Nvidia GPU, but I don't think that is relevant to the crash. I've since upgraded to a Quad Core Phenom with 8GB of RAM and I rarely, if ever, crash (same GPU).

For what it's worth, I've had multiple copies of the game running on this machine for 3-4 days before and each using 2.3-2.5GB of RAM by the time I closed them, still working fine. This was with the old launcher and the new NC Soft app, no differences in stability. I'm confident having that extra RAM cushion has made CoH much more stable.
  10. Hey all!

I'm running a cheaper version of this build at the moment, but this is what I'm saving up for and slowly piecing together. Any suggestions? This will be the most I've ever spent on a toon, but it's proven to be so much fun, and I seem to faceplant much less.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Also, that's a pretty cool build. I don't know that I could bother putting the +2 Mag Hold proc into Ice Arrow, though. They seem to work best in AoE powers, like EMP Arrow, where they have a chance to work on multiple enemies.
It's useful for when it procs to stack enough mag hold to actually freeze that boss. If you're tech origin, you could just use your taser + Ice Arrow to do the same thing. The taser also has a useful spot on my power try for igniting OSA without having to use any of my other flamelicious goodies.
  14. I have one (of the Defender variety) and it's one of my top 10 favorite toons, out of 70+ on 4 servers.

I usually go Flash/Poison/Glue/Acid/Disruption -> Full Auto/Flame Thrower ...and most of the stuff is dead. I also went Dark to use Soul Drain and that really starts to put the hurt out with all those debuffs in place. The redraw isn't as bad as you'd think since you layer the debuffs first and then let lose. I can farm the wall easy peasy, solo almost any mob type without *too* much issue. I usually just toss out the debuffs when teaming with a large group to help the steamroll go along.

It's the perfect mix of debuffs and AoE, for me, that makes the toon so much fun. I feel like I contribute much more than an Assault Rifle blaster, for example. I built for Smash/Lethal/Ranged def (all around 28%). Flash Arrow's -To Hit puts me at the happy place so a luck makes me good for most situations. I also went cardiac and with Tough/Epic Shield I'm near the Defender Res Cap for S/L.

TL;DR - Good combo. Redraw not as bad as you'd think. OSA is awesome.
  15. Hey all...I have a crafted [Shield Wall: Teleportation Protection, +Res(All).50] for sale on Freedom. I'm a bit iffy about in-game email since I lost some loot I had sitting in my inbox for a few days, so I'd like to do the sell on Freedom.

Asking 2.0B for the IO ...or trade + influ for Glad Armor 3% Def + TP Prot ....

    Thanks,

    @TheXor

What exactly did you post your build for, then? I don't mean that in a snobby way...just curious what feedback you were actually looking for.
  17. This is what I had planned for mine, before I rerolled a Fire/MM. My focus was on capping S&L Def (without Maneuvers/ or the PvP IO), and having a decent +DMG boost and some Regen, while at the Blaster HP Cap. I went a little overboard on the KB prot b/c of the occasional Zone PvP...every little bit helps.

If I could suggest anything to you, I would definitely include the rain power (Reactive Proc is amaaaazing in those). I would also minimize the focus on +Rec when you have a power that fills your blue bar up every 20 seconds. That's my .02 influence though, lots of folks here are better at "mids maff" than I.

  18. I have an Archery/Energy blaster (first 50!) that I adore...it plays completely different than my DP/Devices, for reasons outlined above not worth repeating.

I will say that the DP/Devices isn't nearly as weak as some would make it out to be (with the lack of Aim or Build-Up) if played tactically. I usually drop gun drone around a corner (defiance boost) stealth into a mob, drop trip mine (which also gives you a nice damage boost via defiance...at this point you should be near 70-80% +DMG) then hit HoB. You have the mitigation of the bomb explosion, nice up front dmg as well as all those extra ticks from the nuke. I solo on +1x8 with mine, and that combo + the cone attack for the bosses is usually enough to wipe the entire mob with the incendiary rounds, and of course the drone helps. An occasional ST hit is needed for higher con enemies, obviously.
  19. Draggynn - Good call on the SF:3%, I'll be tossing it in tough. On the endurance issues, between accolades, cardiac tier3 alpha and PowerSink, I should be more than fine. I will probably drop the last proc in FR and put a generic recharge IO in it's place to have it up every mob on those steam-roll teams.

I started putting Acro on most of my squishes to shrug off a hold, and it's made me enjoy the toons more since I'm always aggressively charging in and tossing debuffs down first thing (when I play with my local group of 2 or 3 other squishes).

Go forth and...yell at things, and blow them into walls. Err...yeah.
  20. Here's my planned build....probably around 1B. Cheap (compared to most on here) but fun/effective. Energy Def + Energy Res on these new trials is quite handy, when the 9CU's to-hit doesn't go over 9,000 that is.

On a corruptor, I'd go with the same plan - except I'd probably use a temp jetpack to fly slightly over their head (the controller can AoE immobilize stuff forcing them to be at range, I assume more mobs would get to melee and be a threat on a corruptor). Another option would be to go Leviathan for the AoE immobilize, I suppose - it animates slowly, but the lion's share of the damage is done by the reactive procs from your rains and you're bound to have downtime with the only two fast recharging AoEs you have being fire ball and fire breath. The corruptor only gets to about 50% S/L res, so it might be needed to either use both green and orange insps, or get the Rebirth +regen destiny and some orange insps.

The above paragraph being, of course, complete theorycraft. I don't have a fire/cold corruptor.

Wow that's interesting....Anyone have a video of something like this in action? I'm trying to imagine that reactive fire proc in multiple rain powers, and it seems like it would be amazing.
  22. Spinning backwards in the air doesn't amount to squat when you get a few looping KB attacks in series....not to mention the status protection you get from Acro that will let squishy AT's shrug off a hold. A single 4pt Karma/BoTZ IO doesn't equal a base mag 9 KB prot either (Acro).

I think it's a neat suggestion, OP. Too bad it'll probably be implemented, though.
