After the loyalty program name was revealed some of the writing seemed to appear to be on the wall. Also, I imagine with two more parts left that there's more going on here, than just metal mask guy taking the plunge.

Quote:Y'know, this would probably be a lot simpler if instead of saying anime, we just used cartoon for animated things and just specified where it was from. And Western isn't a genre, it is a setting. And superheroes isn't a genre, it is a type of character which really has no meaning since many superheroes have no superpowers, others do not have superhero names and outfits.
Really, there are no such things as genres.
Also, we have no way of really knowing if anything exists except in our own mind since all we have are unreliable senses to tell us about the world (or so we think).
But it is usually convenient to use social conventions of pretending the world really exists, that genres exist, etc when having discussions with others.
Granted, I consider manga to be comic books, just from Japan. So, what do I know? -

Quote:I see superheroes as broad as to includeThat's a terrible analogy, actually, because CoH is not about just one thing. That's like saying Super Hero = ONLY a guy in spandex.
That rules out;
- Power armoured Heroes
-Time Lost/Past/Future Heroes
- Alternate Dimension Heroes
- Barely Human Heroes
- Alien Heroes
-Iron Man, some Sentai/Power Rangers
-Vandal Savage, Cable, Bishop, Inuyasha
-Ichigo Kurosaki, Clea, Amethyst
-Not exactly sure what you mean here, but how about anything catgirl and or werewolf?
-Superman, a good portion of the cast of Tenchi Muyo
I'm sure the list goes on and on. But, hey, Comics Everybody! -

Quote:Ah, the clean sweep. Here's my idea and keep in mind I havent been able to run part 4 yet.
Personally, I think there will be multiple deaths among our signature heroes. I think Statesman is going to be destroyed quickly; his death being an inconsequential destruction to rattle the other heroes. Ms. Liberty rushes into battle to defend her grandfather only to be swatted away and killed instantly.
From there the Phalanx come together and ask the players on the TF to help take out an evil to big for them to handle alone. During the ensuing battle most of the members of the Phalanx are taken out and it is our characters who finally take down the mastermind and his evil minions.
At least, that would make the last 6+ years of my playing finally make me feel like I am a true hero and have my place in the CoH Universe.
I don't know, that's a lot of new trainers to put in. Too many unique characters thrown under the bus for the sake of the players? Seems a little too bold, for well, any game. I can almost see it though.
Statesman should be more than enough to put our characters at the forefront. -

It's fine, but it's a little too simple. The blend portion is too indistinct. She has cool unique pieces, but the undersuit itself is underwhelming, particularly as she's one of the first faces heroside when we load up in Atlas.
If she gets a promotion to Phalanx member, she should get a new suit. -
Quote:Plus, she'd probably get a new suit. (Seriously, she could use a redesigned costume regardless.) And she's probably the first "big hero" face we see in-game when we hit Atlas.5. Won't be Statesman. Too big. Well I should alter that a bit. It could be Statesman IF afterwards, they have Ms Liberty join the Phalanx. She would then be able to continue his work and finish up any unfinished stories that Statesman didn't, for example the fight against Recluse. This would add more depth to another character and really make Ms Lib pop.
Plus it would add another female to the group, since there is currently only 1 living female right now.
How cool would it be to be welcomed to Atlas by a newly redesigned Ms. Liberty who was now a part of the premier hero group in-game? I'd even go so far as to say she'd need a new name if she was going to get this sort of promotion. -
Rooftops of the Grandville Gutters section, I'm playing my undercover hero running around the Isles, I want to say this is shortly before we got the morality missions, but now I don't recall. I notice just to my right and stream of Knives of Artemis.
That's right, lady ninjas going rooftop to rooftop, in the middle of my patrol route. Which is also, rooftop to rooftop.
Naturally, a fight ensues on the rooftops. Just as I think I'm clear, a second patrol comes down on me and it's just me trying to stop a band of ninja ladies on the rooftops from their appointed rounds. (I have since found out that it's a set patrol route).
But, I need more of this heroside. The Tsoo are ninja-esque. I'd love to see patrols of Tsoo going rooftop to rooftop in Talos, But there's just not enough roofs close enough together to make it worthwhile. It'd have to be a zone like Kings Row, where you can ninja run, and jump, from rooftop to rooftop for a lot of the zone. And zone-wise, the Tsoo are solidly in the Steel Canyon/Skyway/Talos level ranges. Skyway could almost work, if they keep to the edges or the low central section. -

Quote:Also, shoot it in daylight.I'd suggest one of two things - either try to snag a screenshot in as high a resolution as your monitor will support then CROP it down to just the character, as opposed to resizing it, or otherwise download Fraps (it's free) and shoot a 30-second movie, then upload it to YouTube so we can see the aura in action. Maybe then someone will be able to identify it either as an existing one or as one they saw in Beta but never again.

Quote:You could always go all out on set IOs and make a kick-pancake blapper. Seriously, I've a friend that has one that stands toe to toe with Tyrant while my standard IO'd out MA/WP scrapper gets pasted.I'm honestly not sure what a good solution would be. I just know I want to use guns on a character who's not fragile by design. I'm not sure how that could happen in this game, but I keep wanting to see it
I have to say, I really like the idea of making them power pools(ancillary pools come way way too late even at 35) though, just so everybody can have short set of weapon options. Though, in these sorts of cases, I wouldn't say no to a bunch of weapon melee focused power pools to fill out the other end of the spectrum for folks that don't mind squishy characters. -
Speaking of which, I kind of hope they find a way to put those into the fire and ice melee options as well.
-
Superheroes. Super powers. My love of comic books, this includes manga.
As well as a broad range of options for power combos. -
Man, I completely forgot about muscular female arms. It'd be nice to also have left arm only as an option, as we only currently have right arm only or both arms or upper arms.

Quote:I think you still have to run through a safeguard first. So, 3 radios first.OK, good to know there's some arc content that can be played instead of the Twinshot arc. So I can just walk up to the KR contacts with no introduction? This will help me with future new characters, but I still feel sorry for new players.
Edit: fixed quoting syntax
