Urg i know i'm not the most wordy person in the world but some of the post in this thread just leave me plain confused.
But i just cant resist posting something so here go's
Like many have pointed out already IO sets are used a lot by the PvE community my and they are far from useless personally I've slotted my stone brute in such a way that i am able to move around with rooted running at the same speed a normal toon walks at this allows me to be very mobile in combat and so decreases my fury degradation allowing me to do more damage and so lvl faster without the IO sets i couldn't do this. On my invul tank (lvl33) i have it slotted for maximum defence and resistance to the point where i can stroll from one end of PI to the other and ignore the hits landed on me this again would be impossible without the IOs i have slotted both because i can slot acc/end redux in a single slot so reducing the number of slots i need in attacks and also because the set bonuses allow me to push my resistance/defence higher also i have no need of unstoppable so i have a free power pic and less down time.
Perma Hasten is still possible on some toons depending on what IO sets you have access to. -
Well I've faced one claws scrapper that i didn't know before entering pvp admitedly it was a while back now but then i don't PvP a great deal either.
Also if your designing a pvp toon i suppose there's things to take into consideration such as the fact that claws is leathal damage and so is at a imediat disadvantage when compared to the likes of fire. So i would imagine (maybe a pvper can confirm/denny) that when creating a pure PvP based toon they'll look for the best powers available to there desired AT and it'll be these power sets they'll pic so its not so much a case that claws is week just that there's better options out there for creating a pvp scrapper. -
No I've never had a claws scraper i do have a claws stalker tho but unfortunately haven't got high enuff to get Shock wave yet but i am looking forward to it.

And again they have not decreased claws over all damage they have only decreased the damage of slash a power which they have also decreased the animation time of so it effectively dose the same damage
according to the numbers in game slash will now do 82.58 damage unslotted wheres before it did 82.6 so damage has dropped a hole .02 not a huge drop really is it and while I'm at it Shock wave has went from 62.6 to 65.69 so its had a increase of .09 that looks like a over all increase in claws damage out put to me not huge one but its still a improvement. also shock wave is a cone so claws has lost some damage on a single target attack but gained a greater amount of damage on a attack that can hit multiple targets.
Of course my numbers could be wrong as i'm not very good with them but if there correct claws has came out better than it was. -
Yea that's something i would like to see combos shouldn't i feel be viewed as duel blades "thing" but instead should be looked at as the next step in improving the existing combat system.

So far I'm liking i13 i even like the Patrol XP as it allows my more seldom played alts to get a nice we XP boost when they come on but i can see how some wouldn't like it so maybe there should be a on patrol button or something so you can toggle your self in / out of on patrol mode.

If i'm reading them correctly shock waves damage scale went up by .01 so that's a damage boost to shock wave is it not?
Slash's damage scale went down to 1.32 so that's had a reduction but its also had its recharge reduced
So if i understand correctly Slashes DPS should be the same as pre i13 and Shock wave should cause more damage than its i13 incarnation so is that not a over all damage boost. especially as you should be able to chain slash better now? -
That's it stupid thing only good for decorating the base I would hardly call it a Buff and one buff hardly seems like a good reason why dominators should get less benefit from buffs granted to them specially as there more likely going to need the full benefit of something like fire shield when compared to a brute who already has some lvl of shielding.
Also i notice it says all buffing powers dose that mean things like hasten? if so has i13 killed the perma dom? -

Surly Dominators aren't a buffing AT other than the healing tree thing they don't have any buffs that buff there allies and there self buffs are no different from any melee or ranged damage AT (i realise domination is better but domies start with lower stats)
So surly they should be a Melee or a ranged AT? -
I cant think of any that you've missed of the top of my head tho force fields and energy could both exist in either the science age or the Sword 'n' Sorcery category quite easily as there pretty generic.
You mentioning travel powers tho did get me thinking we lack a set based around super speed ala Flash, Quicksilver, Zoom (possible time control), Inertia, Speed it is currently kinda doable using superrelexes and the super speed travel power set but there's no real melee set that gives that impression of fast combat where your landing a succession of week blows very fast.
also some form teleportation set in a similar vain to night crawler again yes its kinda fudge able using current sets but nothing really represents the way night crawler would combine his teleportation and gymnastic abilities to over come his opponents. -
Been giving the whats not in game yet question some thought and so far all i can come up with is some form of time manipulation how it could be implemented in game tho I'm not sure it could be done as some form of "Armour" set where the user can see partially into the future and so avoid incoming attacks or can rewind time so to rez but really that kind of thing can be covered by super reflexes or energy aura. It could function as a control set but again gravity some what has similar effects to what i could come up with.
One thing that could be done tho looking at the current powers is they could expand the power types over more ATs so radiation melee, radiation armour/aura, radiation control, dark control, dark assault, radiation assault, weather control (control version), plant melee, plant armour, Plant creatures (for MM), maybe a elemental blast / melee set. but again most of the stuffs already there in game in some form its just a matter of Dev time to do all the work and balancing. -
Some kind of Chain / blade dominator set is pretty frequently suggested both EU and US side so i imagine its only a matter of time.

Very true and that had occured to me and should also where posable be rektified so maybe some steampunk ish inspired swords and bows for nemisis not sure if a rikti bow could exist tho.
and of course every one would benafit from more costumes. it would even go some way to placate those who are looking for faction specific costume parts -
But what are those powers we have most of the basic ones already the current "spandex" powers in game cover energy(unspecified,radiation,electrical,negative), fire, ice, gravity, earth,plant manipulation, weather manipulation.
also the devs have said in the past that they've looked at implementing things like shape shifting (difficult to do and make it look good) size/density alteration (again difficult to implement) they also tried to do a water blast set but it looked bad so it morphed some what into what we now have as energy blast.
What "spandex" powers do you see as missing from the game? -

well Requiem is a nictus so its entirly posable that his plans or the plans of those he truly serves go far beyond those of the original fith colume.
Also the Shivans are only fragments of a far greater creature maybe thell finally manage to pull there self more togeather (shivan GM maybe?)
But i find it hard to conect the Shivans (fragments of some kind of world devouring creature) to the nictus the nictus seemingly want to controll the earth but Shiva seemingly just wanted to eat the earth -

Cheaper yes probably though theres allways the chance that if like the GvE pack it actually worked out cheeper to bye the full thing than to bye the upgrade because you were getting 30 days free play time.
Also never underestimate the need for costume partsjust because it looks a bit OTT all together it doesnt mean that individually once mixed and matched with the existing costumes they wont look completely kick [censored].

To be fair such threats aren't really much of a deterrent if some one wanted to do it just look at movie and software piracy.
But for something that's very niche there's little point and it would never receive official recognition in the same way mids (or similar has) so would possible be viewed as pointless. -

Your complaint tho makes no sense what your basically saying is in your opinion there's to many power sets that use weapons and not enough that use flashy effects. But you seem to be missing rather huge point up until recently a mace was a mace you couldn't make it into something else it was just a mace, while energy melee could be anything from glow generated by your super high tech power fists to the physical manifestation of your chi so there had to be multiple weapon sets just so they could represent those few heroes that wield some form of weapon there had to be a sword set and a mace set and a axe set all there doing now is finishing of those sets by giving them a suitably matching secondary in the form of shields but there also giving the player to create that captain America inspired character. I'm quite sure we'll see more sets soon (i know i have my hart set on a radiation melee / armour set) but it takes time to develop a set.
As a side note a short probably incomplete list of heroes and villains that use/have used weapons
Thor - War hammer
Valkyrie - sword and spear
beta ray bill - Hammer/mace type thing
Wrecker - Crowbar
Thunderball - ball on chain
Vandal Savage - Has used a variety of weapons over the years
Ra's al Ghul - Depicted several times wielding a sword
Zorro - Sword
and I'm sure there's more. Something i would like to see the Devs do is dive more into weapons we have the basics but lets see more fantisful weapons things like ray/plasma/photon guns (vaugly touched on by robotics MM) the witch blade, soul blade/caliber, even the electric hammer that was suggested in one of the poles basically weapons that would grant a mere mortal powers -

As the Mac game and the PC game are in fact the same game and aren't going to be on separate servers could i just bye the Mac version of the game and apply the game code to my account in the same way i did with GvE? -
