Perhaps not morally; then again, that's a matter of perspective.
Aesthetically, Darth Vader fans across the world disagree.
Again, that's really a matter of perspective. Every well-written villain is the hero, so to speak, of their own story. It's sort of in line with my statement a few lines up. -

Quote:I'm starting to wonder if anyone reads all the text in this game.I'll finish them only because I want to see it through to the end. But the writing NEEDS to change. Villainous plots CAN succeed without demanding Heroes lose almost all higher brain functions and common sense, devs.
Also, anyone who did it Redside. Do we know WHY they wanted Alexis dead? Was there any reason given?
1) Wade needs her blood because it's similar to Statesman's.
I assume he just needs the blood of an Incarnate or something similar, and Liberty and Statesman were too hard for Wade to trap, since States is Big Time and Liberty is currently empowered by the Liberty Belt...or, perhaps it would be believable that Blitz could capture Alexis. Wade may have other methods of capturing Liberty or Statesman, though the latter may not be as feasible since States is Big Time.
I'm pretty sure he's going to combine Alexis' blood with the Power Intensifier he stole from the Midnight Squad; or rather, Wade's next pawn is going to get a transfusion of her blood and they're going to use the Intensifier...you know, right before they explode or something as dictated by the dropping of other shoes and such.
2) Wade has been watching a lot of Criminal Minds recently and believes that the death of a close relative will make Statesman emo out again like when his wife Monica died. To be accurate, though, States only did that because Recluse purposely sent flowers to Monica to mess with his head a bit, I can't remember how exactly that worked.
It's entirely possible that States won't fall for the same trick twice, even through his grief.
3) Wade wants to estrange Manticore from the rest of the Phalanx because of his secrecy involving, and the magnitude of his failure to protect as a result of said secrecy, someone so close to the Phalanx. I think people have already picked up on this, though.
Points 2 and Points 3 are really to create a sufficiently distracted and divided Phalanx to enable Point 1. -
But they're terrible, as implied by their current Security Level cap. Unless, of course, Justin's been holding back the good equipment.

Where's Steelclaw for this thread?

Quote:According to the official Underground Guide,My understanding is that as long as you are behind the War Walker you should be fine.

...or, well, you get the idea. -
Quote:Yeah, my memory doesn't work so well sometimes; you ask Prometheus about the Well after completing Keyes and he does say that the Furies act on the Well's behalf while it's snoozing.Talk to Prometheus and ask him about the Well and the Furies. He'll explain the somewhat complicated relationship that the Well and the Furies. He also says that the Furies considered Cole murdering Praetorian Stefan Richter a trangression most vile to them and thats why the Talons are after him. He also explains how the Well changes over the time its "asleep" and the Furies are unchanging in their beliefs. Also while the Furies considered Richter's murder a transgression, the Well didnt care about it when it chose Cole as its champion

Quote:You've got it backwards: as I understand it, the nature of Incarnates and in fact the contemporary era of super powered beings as presented in the first book was superior to what had already been planned, and the ingame canon was changed accordingly. Note that at that time, however, that no one had decided that the Well (or whatever exists inside of it, as the case may be) was sentient. If the books that came out are canonical at all, on Primal Earth, the Furies were allies of Marcus Cole and came back to Paragon City with him after he got his powers. Maybe in Praetorian Earth, he did something to betray them back then and they're pissed? And yeah, I know, I doubt the books are a reliable source, just something to think about.

Quote:Brainstorm's gig is experimenting with super powers. Creed's gig is, as far as I know, still experimenting on the Infected. They may be mad scientists, but if they don't focus on the goals they've set they'll never get anything done. :PDoctor Kane was just as "hilarious" a character as Doctor Brainstorm. In fact, now I'm wondering why they had to make a new mad scientist for this. Why didn't they use Doctor Brainstorm, or give Doctor Creed a new job since they changed Mercy?
I think it would be more appropriate to ask why Dr. Vahzilok wasn't running the place, if you had to ask. -
Quote:I don't recall any part of their background saying that they punish those who defy the Well of the Furies, or that they even work for the Well. I was looking for that little bit specifically the whole time I was running First Ward.I finally got around to playing through First Ward (first time since it came out I was on a character the right level range) and I really liked it but I have one question. Why would the Furies, who punish oathbreakers but more specifically those who defy the Well of the Furies, be after Cole when he's the Well's champion?

I'm not comfortable that the argument presented by the OP hinges entirely on the accuracy of comparison between WWE and Paragon Studios with regards to their marketing strategy, their product, and the demographic they serve. The first category was discussed compellingly, but the latter two...
EDIT: Actually, what is the argument, precisely? Just so its clear. -

I think Zwillinger said something being 'very very disappointed' if anyone made Final Fantasy clones. And you wouldn't like Zwill when he's...disappointed.
Quote:I can't help thinking it should be bigger, myself, but I stopped and asked myself "why." My original requests were two - that the weapon be larger than the Legacy Broadsword for women, and I think this one is, and that the weapon when stood on its end be taller than the character wielding it, which this one looks like it will be. So why does it feel small even when it's not?
The answer is actually quite simple - the weapon is close to half hilt. That is to say, almost half of the weapon's total length looks to be hilt. This is a problem for a couple of reasons.
1. Proportionally speaking, having such a large hilt-to-blade ratio makes the weapon feel unbalanced and also makes it short. By putting much of the weapon's weight behind the grip, it makes it feel like less of a cleanly swinging weapon, and by putting the grip so far forward, it makes the weapon feel shorter than it is.
Ideally, I'd like to see weapons with longer blades and about that length of hilt, as a weapon's length is really mostly measured past the grip if the dominant hand. From the right hand forward, that sword is a little short.
That weapon is probably proportioned about as practically as can be for an oversize chopping weapon that needs to be wielded fast enough to mince tiny Rikti Monkies.
Quote:2. The weapon doesn't have enough blade
Quote:In fact, I'd like to see a weapon that, when stood on its end, brought the gripping hand up to the character's shoulder level, if not higher. -
Mobile Artillery doesn't show up in Sutter, but War Walkers do. I haven't seen Mobile Artillery ingame for any content outside of special events, though I'm sure they'll show up sooner or later. Outside of Sutter, there are War Walkers in Tina MacIntyre's arc with the same powers as those in Sutter and the Incarnate Trials.

Quote:You're right, I could run the arcs with no sound. But that would be boring. You can run the First Ward arcs without sound. It isn't really necessary for any of the missions and there are no voiceovers that I can remember.
Quote:I predict two fights against Cole, one involving him forcibly trying to take more power from the Well than it wants to give him and being some grotesque, Angelic Templar-thing. May or may not get voice acted during the fight with insane rants like:
"DEATH TO ALL WHO OPPOSE THE GOD OF THE NEW WORLD!" -
