    100% agreed.

PBAoE and / or "Affect My Team while they're within X ft" would have been the way to go. As is, playing a 'buffer' ...

*Ahem* Isn't for me. Let's say that.

I would gladly pay for a base booster pack...and I suspect many here would as well. That way the devs turn a profit and can justify spending time on it.
I'm not a base builder, and I 100% support this suggestion. We've done the five origins - now do player faction boosters!

(Although what goes in the Marketeer and Farmer booster might be worrisome...)

I don't disagree, but that's why I put the "max # per run" in my suggestion, so that even if you "park-farm" (for lack of a better term), there's a "most" you get that way.

Yes, you'll get some park-farmers, but now all task forces are run-able, to all sides. Seems a pretty good deal to me...?
  4. What I don't get, is why not a "live" calculator?

If they think "# Merits / Min" is a good formula (maybe it is or isn't, that's not my point), why not award the Merits at the end based on how long it took?

Speed runs remain possible, but are not longer the "best" way - speed runs of 2-3 'Forces would probably be the best way to wrack up Merits in a short time, though.

Yes, you'd have problems with "parkers", who join then sit to rack up the Merits, but I bet some sort of "activity detector" or "max value" (or both) cap would help with that (...and isn't that roughly the same as speed farming anyway?).

    Just a question.

  6. Hello!

Messed with /bind quite a bit, love it.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way with target_custom_next (or another command) to target the next (...and therefore, previous...) ally in your team listing?

That is, I'm targeting Person 2 on the team, push this button, and be targetting Person 3 on the team.

I know there's "teammate", and the _next slashcommand, but that's by physical proximity, which is only "eh" for useful.

    Any suggestions?
  7. I know!

I was in the middle of a costume contest, too.

    One I might-a won.

  8. I'm pretty new, so I offer my suggestions with a pinch of salt.

But this game does not lack for an economy. It lacks *compatibility* of economies.

I think a lot of problems with Merit Rewards - in both directions - are suddenly solved if you can (1) buy/sell them on the market, or (2) sell them (on an individual basis) to Merit Vendors.

Make every Merit worth, say, 25,000* to the Merit Vendors, so that someone who runs a TF can just convert it straight into money.

Similarly, MA tickets should be vendorable (for maybe 100*, though - they're substantially easier to come by!), and able to be sold on the market.

Once you can buy random-rolls on the market (buy 20 Merits, get a random-roll), their true value will become very quickly known.

[Blah blah Vet Rewards, blah blah blah. Yeah, that's a problem, but it wasn't my idea to get Merit Rewards as Vet Rewards.]

    * - I made these numbers up. Values would obviously be hotly contested...

  10. Hey, all...

I'm mostly comfortable with Binds, and can create interesting setups for myself (semi-random battlecries, getting keys to do what I want, etc).

But I have a new dilemma.

My Significant Other and I have decided to share a character for the first time (both of us hate levelling up Healbots, but like having one available to play, if a team requires it). Problem is, we both use radically different control techniques; I use the Logitech G13, while they use the keyboard. And our keys are all different, too - I have Tab pull up the map, while they have Tab target the nearest enemy, f'instance.

Now, I have set up a Bind that alternates between our settings; that was easy. The problem is, on the second iteration - whenever I try to "switch back" - I get told, many times, that I have reached my maximum number of binds.

Has anyone here ever tried anything similar?

If I save a "blank" Binds file, where everything is set to "nop", before loading the player's file, will that help?
  11. Short answer - You can't right now, it's borked.

Long answer - The system doesn't accept the "<" or ">" right now, for various reasons that, frankly, remain a little obscure to me. There's some not-very-good workarounds for this, but, well, they're not very good.

Further details are under "known issues" on the ParagonWiki.

    ...sorry to disappoint.
  12. Aww. Sadmaking.

At least there's a (chunky) workaround.

Well, on the upside, if it's happened before, that increases the odds of there being a solution. Hopefully.

Anyone have any suggestions? Do I just need to "give her time" to logout, or something, or do I have to contact someone...?

    Or just cry, maybe?

    Virtue Redside

Hey - anyone out there on Virtue Redside tonight?

I got disconnected from the mapserver and crashed to desktop, and now my Mastermind can't sign in - although all my heroes can.

(...I don't have another villian to test...)
  18. Alright, I've read the guide on this, and fiddled with it, but to no avail.

I know about Binds, and loading binds, and so forth; I'm down with that.

But what's the format for Petsay to get my pet to do an emote?

I can get them to *say* stuff - but I was them to, for instance, cower in fear.

I can /petsaypow Zombie e afraid ... But then they all say "e Afraid", which is not quite the effect I'm going for here.

Any suggestions / advice much appreciated.

    Procs

    Hello, all!

How can I tell if a Proc is going off? I have Scirocco's Dervish: Chance for Lethal Damage, and I'd like to know when my 20% pays off.

    Thanks in advance!
  20. The only group in the game I find truly sinister and villianous is the Vazhilok (sp?).

Seriously, they kidnap (or brainwash) the seriously ill and steal their organs. And bodies. And maybe their souls.

Like, sure, Arachnos wants to take over the world blah blah blah and they better be stopped, but it's Vazhilok that - if I were a Paragon City citizen - I'd actually be *scared* of.

I think they deserve higher-level and / or more content than they have, and to be turned into a serious-and-significant force for Ebil.

Uh, what about Task Force respecs?

Can I have all three Task Force respecs waiting-to-go, and still claim a Vet Respec? ...or can I only have one Task Force respec at a time, as well?

...PS, thanks for the quick answers. Strong community around here, and that helps a lot.

    Veteran Respec

I just got my 9-month Vet Awards, but I can't figure out how to cash in the respec(s).

The character(s) on the account don't show a respec when the start up... ...so...

...so, essentially, how do the Vet Awards respecs work? And who / how do I talk to if I don't seem to have 'em?
  23. You and I teamed up to do the Freakolympics arc through Oroboros, about a month-and-a-half ago.

I was Martial Mirth, a jester with dual blades and a genuinely awful sense of humour.

Because my memory is damn awful, I don't remember your name. I remember you were (in-character) a college student, and concerned with getting the Freakolympics done in time to resume your studies.

...hopefully, you find this, and send me a tell or something when you see me online. I'd love to team up again.

And that's where my Disbelief-O-Meter starts going off.

There are a number of heroes that don't care about such things as Civil Liabilities (...or Liberties...) in the face of Right, Truth, and so forth. At LEAST one such hero would keen on to Crey. At LEAST one such hero would spill the beans, upset the applecart, and trigger a landslide.

Maybe not Superman, f'instance. But Batman. Or, god help us, Lobo.

But the world of City of Heroes (and that's part of the fun of an MMO, the ongoing world) should eventually reflect this / these changes. And maybe periodically, new content along these lines. Instead of an alternate dimension. Just, you know. Progress. At home.

IMHO, I think, in my opinion, Contents under pressure, No warrantee expressed or implied, offer void where prohibited.
