Does it look that way if you step away from the furniture? The first image is hard to tell any detail in (due to size/distance) except that it appears as if you are too close to the furniture and it is clipping through your body.
The second could be the same issue, but it's a bit difficult to tell due to the size/distance. -
And they also don't generally mention closing exploits in patch notes, so if that's all that was done, there wouldn't be any.
-
Patch notes are generally posted a bit after the update.
Patience. -
Quote:Really? That's not what you said earlier. Thanks for the input all. I was actually trying to be a little funny. It made me laugh to think that a fire farm doesn't trigger it so I was laughing wondering what in the world could trigger it. I am not asking for any actual exploits, just smiling about it.
Quote:Yes, but what are these said exploits. I guess I am saying that since a high xp farm is not considered an exploit (by the nature of MARTy not being triggered), then what the heck IS the exploit? It seems it would have to be pretty major and pretty awesome. (er, I guess I don't mean awesome, or do I?) -

Also, /bug doesn't get a response generally. It doesn't go to the same group that /petition goes to.

Quote:I never said anything about it being "purchase only". That's your misinterpretation.Ohhhh, boy. The forum and chat explosion over making bug fixes purchase-only would be legendary. Especially since they'd have to add new code just for segregating people into "fixed" and "broken" status.
It wouldn't even have to cost any Paragon Points. We already have an item in the Paragon Market that costs 0 PP.
Don't try twisting my words to say something they aren't saying. -

Quote:They could keep my monthly allotment for a year as well as my free server transfers if they would fix all of those. There is no point value for those, though.
Though I would personally shell out 2400 points if it meant every typo/spelling mistake in the game got fixed.

I'd consider it a small price to pay. -
Log in on another character and file a /petition about the Stuck character. Give the character name, server name, and even the zone name might help. They'll move the character to a different zone. You could even skip the /petition and file the report from the Support page.
Please note that CoH Support now has it's own page at https://support.cityofheroes.com/ -
My hope is that the next things added to the Market are bug fixes.

Just as an FYI, this was happening sporadically on TF's/SF's well before Time Manipulation was released.

Quote:The point I was making in that tangent was that while I'd tried various types of nuts and learned to appreciate their differences while I was younger, as I got older one of them became one that I liked less than I did when I was young. Tastes change over time. Preferences in almost anything can change.
Part of the reason I no longer enjoy Brazil nuts as I did when I was younger could be because Brazil nuts contain Barium and Radium. I've had Barium for several medical tests so it could be that I'm picking up on the Barium in the Brazil nuts and my brain is associating the nuts with the discomfort of the medical tests. I've also been subjected to various radioactive substances being used in tests.
Who knows why people's tastes change. I've used several versions of Windows now, and I definitely have my favorite features of a few of them. In some cases, a feature that I liked very much has been improved on in newer versions of Windows and I now prefer that version of the feature over my previous favorite.
Similarly, I can appreciate the differences in some of the Mac OS versions I've used at times (I can recall using OS 8 and OS 9 before OS X came out, and they are very different in many respects). I can also appreciate the different distros of Linux that I've used in the past and even differences within the same distro as newer versions and kernels are compiled. -
A few things about installing the game.
The new "staged download" is a relatively good idea for new players as this lets them get into the Character Creation stage faster than having to wait for the entire game to download before starting. However, it is horrible for people having to reinstall due to a problem like a hard drive crash or even just an upgrade to a newer computer.
Since you have to wait for Stage 4 to finish before being able to get into the actual game world, it's going to be much better if people start semi-regularly backing up the installation folder to make reinstallations quicker and easier so that they can get back in the game.
The process then would be similar to how we've done quick updates for years, start the installation, stop the installation, copy the files to the new installation folder, Update (or Repair) the installation to get the most up-to-date patches.
As for the capability to switch between Windowed mode and Full screen without restarting the client, that is a new feature in Issue 21, a feature that's long overdue. -
Quote:DarkGob is correct. I was quoting his post and misread forum merge as server merge.Yes, and TJ was right -- he was responding to another post that mentioned the server merges (which had absolutely nothing to do with the FORUM merge). The vBulletin change and the forum merge happened at the same time (7/27/09).
Still, my wording was technically correct in that it did happen before the server merge. -

I have a few other boards I frequent. 3 of them run vBB. I've never had a problem on those boards with being logged out.
I'm logged in on 1 of them right now in a different browser just looking at new threads from last week. I last logged into that forum in April. -
I look forward to you getting a new power supply and being able to upgrade your graphics card.
I still get amazed at some of the things I see since the Ultra Mode updates. -
*offers Judads a cheek to kiss*
No, you don't get to choose which one. -
When I was much younger, my grandparents almost always had some trays around with various nuts in them. I learned to appreciate the tastes of several different nuts I'd have never tried at the time.
Similarly, I've tried Macs using a few different Mac OS versions. I can appreciate some of the things they do very well, but get frustrated with some things they don't do as well. Since some of the programs I really like are Windows only, I'll stick with Windows. The few programs I've found that weren't natively written for Mac OS but were instead a port of a PC version have had too many problems.
Tangent: When I visited my grandparents and tried the different nuts in the trays, I found that I while I already loved pecans and peanuts, I loved cashews and walnuts. I though Brazil nuts were OK but not among my top choices. The older I've gotten, the less I like Brazil nuts. -
I really don't think it's the map pack causing it, or else more would see it. I still thinks it's more likely to be the custom icons.

Quote:That was pretty much my attitude as well. Several of the guys I worked with were playing various MMO's and I never saw anything that would entice me to pay a monthly fee to play a game.Early MMO attitude = "PAY for a game after I've bought it? And keep paying? That's stupid."
Then a co-worker ran across a magazine article or mention of City of Heroes and showed me the site. Seemed intriguing to us both, so we signed up on the forums. I mostly lurked, especially after the announcement that the game was being redesigned.
I don't remember if it was late 2001, or sometime in 2002, but I do recall it being in the early days of the forums.
I still didn't want to pay a monthly fee to play, but kept being intrigued by the concept of the game. I got into the beta and it hooked me so I decided I'd pay for a year and see how things went. My buddy got into Beta later and after launch we even got another co-worker to join us. Two others from work tried it but weren't as serious about it as we 3 were. They jumped ship quickly when another MMO launched in the fall of 2004.
I'm still here. My friend left after the multiple regen nerfs (Thanks Jack) and took the other with him to the 800 lb. gorilla of MMO's.
I've been trying to decide for close to a year if I was going to renew when my annual subscription came up due to changes in the direction the game was going. After participating in the I21 Beta, I've decided to renew for another year.
You're stuck with me.
EDIT: Adding to what Nuclear Toast said. I have no idea how much I've spent on the game or related activities. I've been to two NCSoft events in Austin, 4 CoH specific events in the Bay Area, annual subscriptions, purchasing each and every box set (except for the two elusive DVD Collectors Edition sets of CoH and CoV), a few boosters, a second account that is basically only activated on free weekends for SG invites with a few monthly subs by Time Card (currently subbed to purchase some items with points before going Premium), several purchases from the Wentworth's stores at the two HeroCon's and more that I'm probably forgetting. As far as I'm concerned, it's all been worth it. Especially when it involved time spent with friends I've made in the game. -
Quote:Yep, that's the very add-on that I don't want to lose. I haven't messed with the portable version and don't really feel like messing with it. At home, I have no need to update to a newer version of FF. At work, I have one machine updated and one that isn't so I can read the forums during imaging, installs, lunch, etc.I use the portable version of FF3 to peruse the forums so that FFvB still works (FFvB is broke with higher levels of FF, and changing the compatibility line doesn't fix that). And Lazarus works with FF3, too.
The vastly superior ignore function is worth sticking with the older version of FF for me.
EDIT: For those that don't know, the FFvB Ignore feature not only blocks you from seeing the users posts, it blocks it when people quote their post so you don't see it then, and it doesn't give the little line saying they posted. It really really really ignores them. -
