  1. Interesting. At 14 Reward Tokens you should be full on Tier 5 with one token to place in Tier 6.

    That's according to the chart at ParagonWiki.

    That information matches what I see in game when I look at the Paragon Rewards window. If you actually have 14 Tokens, Tier 5 is full with one Token left to place where you want in Tier 6.

    When you first receive your Tokens, it is supposed to automatically fill through any Tier that you have have enough tokens to fill and then leave the rest for you to place in the next Tier where you want. Basically, the left overs from filling the previous Tiers allow you the Freedom to pick whichever reward you want of the next Tier.

  2. Rajani, where are you travelling from? That can make a big difference in the decision of whether or not to drive. For me, it would be a multi-day drive to get there, so flying is easily the better way to go during the work week.

    Someday I'll map it out and figure out exactly how long it would take and approximately how much gas money I'd need for the trip.

    I think it's something like 30 hours drive time going through Lubbock, Albuquerque, Flagstaff and Bakersfield or 27 hours going through El Paso, Tucson, Phoenix and Los Angeles.

    To do that trip by driving I'd have to take off Wednesday through Friday and then Monday and Tuesday of the next week in order to not be totally bushed at the end of the drives both ways.

    That's a bit too much during the middle of the school year. The district is pretty nice on me taking days off, but not that nice. Anything 3 consecutive days and over requires a doctor's note or me taking actual vacation time. They won't grant vacation days during the middle of the year, so I'm stuck with flying.

    Slight correction here. The name of the venue is Dinah's Garden Hotel. Since they haven't given us a booking code, I want to wait until we are given that before I book my room.

    This time, I'm going to ask for something near the front of the hotel and not on the top floor. I'm also going to ask that it be a room with a view to the Koi ponds.

    I also need to find out who the Karaoke DJ will be and how to contact them ahead of time. I have questions for them.
  4. I've not had that problem either.

    However, you are incorrect in thinking that things happening in your browser shouldn't affect the performance of CoH.

    Both are using the same network connection. You may be flooding your network connection with something in the browser or some type of malware causing you to lose connection to the mapserver. There are quite a few things that could be going on in your browser that might be causing that behavior.

    Please, don't contradict yourself on my account. You clearly told him that only VIP's have access to Customer Service. In case you've forgotten, I highlighted it in bold text for you.

    Live Customer Support is a service provided only to Subscribers i.e. VIP's.
    You really should read that chart again. Premium in-game customer support is only available to VIP customers. Free and Premium customers still get support, but only through the support website by submitting a ticket there. The Live Chat support on that site is for VIP only as well.

    NCSoft and Paragon Studios are apparently defining "Live Support" as direct interaction either through a rep appearing in-game as one of the Police Drones and having a conversation with you to resolve your problems or through the Live Chat interface.

    All players have access to support through the support site, but only VIP have access to in-game support. That is apparently what they've defined as "self-help support" in that last part you quoted.

    Some of us have actually tested those support options and found that non-VIP accounts do indeed have access to those support options.

  8. You can use the same. Log in to your Master account on the NCSoft site, click the Create a Free Account button on the right side under the City of Heroes: Freedom logo. Enter the information for username and password and you are done.

    I know you can do it since I just did.
  9. It may also be that you have Windows set to use a Large font. Some of the built in Windows dialog box calls don't behave well with Large Fonts and will give off-screen buttons or off-centered dialog boxes.

    If you are still having trouble after following the instructions Gaia gave then you'll need to give a bit more information so we can help you.

    The easiest thing to do is to paste the output from CoH Helper into a reply here. If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, be sure to save that file to your desktop then right-click the file and select Run as Administrator.

  10. The Character Copy Tool is working again. I put a few characters in the Queue before leaving work and they were available on the Beta server when I got home. I've transferred a few since then with no problems as well.

    Of course, it isn't Friday yet so we'll see how long it lasts.
  11. Another thing to consider when trying to book your flight might be other nearby airports. I regularly check flights out of Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Corpus Christi when I'm flying to California. There have been several times I've flown out of Austin to Houston and caught a connecting flight to San Jose since it was cheaper than just flying out of Houston.

    Of course, the time to get to the airports in Austin, San Antonio and Houston are all relatively similar due to where my hometown is. Corpus is a bit closer, but I've yet to find a cheaper flight at the times I want. I've found cheaper flights coming in later, but not when I wanted to be there.

    I don't know what's within a reasonable distance from Philly, so I'll leave it to you to check that out. Of course, my definition of a reasonable driving distance is based on Texas driving. Other parts of the country seem to find my distance definitions to be rather odd.

    I'll echo Tony's sentiments about remembering to include the extra charges for bag checks when you look at the price. If I fly Continental and charge it to my Continental Credit Card, I don't get charged bag fees for the first bag (I've only ever checked one bag), but if I charge it to a different card I get charged fees.

    I'm still not really happy with Southwest over the way they treat "passengers of size" (this was the phrase I heard Kevin Smith use after his Southwest fiasco), but I may just fly Southwest this time strictly due to the cost in relation to flight times. Flights into the Bay Area (SJC or SFO) fit my plans and pricing, but the flights back that I'd like to take raise the cost well over what I'm willing to pay ($100 or so more before adding in the baggage fees).

    In any event, I'm planning on being in early Friday morning, getting a rental car again, hitting Schaub's for lunch then seeing how things go from there. I'm waiting for a definitive answer from Dramen about whether he's attending so that I'll know whether or not I'll need to look for a roomie. If Dramen is coming, I'm set, if not, I'll be looking for a roommate.

    EDIT: I didn't consider the drive from SFO to San Jose/Sunnyvale/Santa Clara/Milipitas/Mountain View/etc to be that bad since the airport has easy access to 101 and the traffic moved rather quickly both going into and out of the airport. Then again, I'm used to Texas driving distances.
  12. If it is a subject that hasn't come up before and that there is no answer for, it's very possible that it may take longer.

    At that point they would have to contact a supervisor who would likely have to contact someone else higher up. Since it involves something that would affect both NCSoft and Paragon Studios it may be that their may be discussions between Austin and California on what the policy is going to be.

    It's possible that the person replying to you has received an answer yet and may not until tomorrow (Austin is Central Time and it's now almost 5 PM) or later, depending on who all has to be involved in the decision making.
  13. Or it could be that the person responding to you doesn't have an answer to your question and had to ask someone else, possibly a supervisor, to be able to give an answer.

    It could be that no one there knows and they are having to relay the question to someone that would be able to make a decision and then wait for their reply.

    They have. There are several of the original masks that were in the game at launch, notably the numbered masks, that are no longer available.

    When the CoH and CoV lists were comibined and re-ordered, those parts went away completely.

    There are similar items available, but some were removed completely and never put back no matter how often it was pointed out.

    I'm not even counting the Malaise pants that were removed since they weren't supposed to be there in the first place.

    If you bought the Good vs Evil Edition, you did indeed start with 12 slots. GvE wasn't when CoH and CoV were merged however, it was just a box release with both games included. GvE was released with a DVD that was updated through Issue 7. It was released in September of 2006, well before NCSoft bought out Cryptic.

    If you only bought City of Heroes or City of Villains (or if you bought both and didn't apply the new code to the existing account) you started with 8 slots. All players were granted 2 more slots with Issue 12's release, which was also when they started selling additional slots. That is also when they started awarding slots as part of the Veteran Rewards and they made those annual slot earinings retroactive.

    NCSoft didn't buy out Cryptic until November 2007 and didn't fully merge the games until July 2008. After that, any purchase automatically got you both games or if you already had only one of them you now had both.
  17. Log out of the forums on the current account, log into the forums on the other account.

    The forum logins (and the copy tool) are based on your game account username/password. Since the two accounts have different usernames/passwords, they'll have different forum logins. You may need to create a forum account for the other game account.

    Not quite. If you re-read the first part of SailorET's post it makes it clear that when Issue 12 launched and brought us purchasable slots we also got two free slots which made the minimum number of slots 10, not 8.

    The most the OP could have possibly purchased for that server was 26, not 28.

    If a thread is deleted, especially if it is one you started, send a PM to one of the OCR team asking why it was deleted. They are never deleted without reasons.

    They will tell you exactly why it was deleted and often tell you exactly what section of the currently posted Message Forum Rules and Guidelines that it violates.

  22. Having seen the entire post before it was changed, that isn't the problem.

    The problem is that there is a bug that can occur that doesn't allow the Tier 6 reward to show up to be chosen.

    There is a slash command (that I failed to write down before the post was edited) that will allow you to access that power choice. If you file a support ticket then support will give you the slash command.

    If you do, please don't copy/paste the response to the forums since it's a violation and will be removed. Just summarize the answer and list the slash command so others can know what it is.
