Returning Premium player: Paragon Rewards
I have returned to check out Premium after a seven-year hiatus (actually according to the forum my last visit was 9/28/2005, so it's only six-and-a-half years). The game has decided that I get 14 Paragon Rewards Tokens which seems pretty good, if for no other reason than my Controllers are unlocked, though with only 3 character slots I probably won't be playing them anyway, at least not soon. The game automatically spent 12 of those tokens for me, filling up most of tier 5.
Anyone know how the game decided what to spend the tokens on, or why if it was going to spend my tokens for me it didn't spend the last 2? Probably a silly thing with which to concern myself considering the enormous number of changes since I last played, it just seems really arbitrary. |
@Roderick
Accounts that existed before the transition to CoH:Freedom had Vetran Rewards awarded to them based on the old Vet system. In order to avoid taking anything away from you and forcing you to reselect the same things anyways, some of your tokens were spent to preselect the Paragon Rewards that correspond to the Vet Rewards you already had. Any that are left over after that are left unspent so that you can redeem them in the order you choose (limited by your Reward Tier, of course).

Thanks very much.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
Also, welcome back, and stuffs.
Interesting. At 14 Reward Tokens you should be full on Tier 5 with one token to place in Tier 6.
That's according to the chart at ParagonWiki.
That information matches what I see in game when I look at the Paragon Rewards window. If you actually have 14 Tokens, Tier 5 is full with one Token left to place where you want in Tier 6.
When you first receive your Tokens, it is supposed to automatically fill through any Tier that you have have enough tokens to fill and then leave the rest for you to place in the next Tier where you want. Basically, the left overs from filling the previous Tiers allow you the Freedom to pick whichever reward you want of the next Tier.
And welcome back to Paragon.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Thanks all for the welcome!
What it did was fill all of Tier 5 except for the middle slot, Vanity Pets, leaving me with 2 tokens to spend, which seemed especially arbitrary (or disturbingly insightful, as though it knew that I don't really care about vanity pets).
Thanks all for the welcome! |
As others have mentioned, you're gonna need to slot the one for the Vanity Pets (it was apart of the old Vet Rewards System) before you can slot in Tier 6. Even though you get the Pets, doesn't mean you have to claim them. That will sit in your Account wide section of your E-mail.
Once you have Tier 5 fully slotted, then you can choose the order of what you claim in Tier 6, ect., ect.
Thank you for the time...

I wonder if they made this change after making the pets mutually exclusive to each other (can only have one out at a time). If so, it wasn't announced.
