  1. houtex (are you in Houston, Texas?), if you are comfortable looking at your registry, could you check and see what these registry keys are set to?

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Cryptic/CoH/GameProgressDialogType
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Cryptic/CoH/GameProgressUserString

If the game is not having any problems, you can safely ignore the 'crash detected' dialog.

Sorry, my magic 8 ball says: Very doubtful
  3. We are aware of the power tray issue.

I am wondering whether there is a work-around to save me doing so or will I just have to put up with it until after the holidays.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.
If you are seeing missing part of the scenery, this has not been reported as an issue and is most likely a problem with your computer.

You should not hesitate to open a support ticket since they should be available for help.
  5. The "vote to kick" problem has been addressed and should be fixed on the live servers.

The issues with the closed leagues are being looked into.
  6. When you see the dialog with:

"City of Heroes has encountered a problem and needs to close.

We have created an error report that you can send to us."

Make sure you fill out the "Describe what you were doing" section, even if it was just "Starting the game" and make sure you press the "Send" button so we can look at the error report.

Other than that, more information about your setup would be helpful.

Then you should follow the last step:

If these steps do not help you resolve your issue, please contact Technical Support here.
  8. We are looking in to the map server disconnect issue.

We'd like to know what server you were logged in to and zones you were leaving/going to.
  9. I believe ATI has fixed some memory leak issues with their OpenGL drivers in their recent releases. You may want to try the 11.9 Catalyst drivers.

Sorry, I was suggesting that link to Scarlet Shocker to help resolve the crashing issues.
  11. I believe it is the latter, using Akamai.
  12. How many people are still seeing 'out of memory' crashes?

First I thought maybe the flag didn't work when added to my projectcoh shortcut to skip the launcher, but after the first crash I used the launcher and got the driver crash the very first time I tried to zone.

Has anyone else notice this flag being broken?
If you can get to the log-in screen, then the -ignorebaddriver flag is doing its job. Without the -ignorebaddriver flag, if you had one of the problematic driver, then the game would refuse to start.

If you are crashing when you are changing zones, that has nothing to do with what the -ignorebaddriver flag does. This flag was put in to allow players with potentially bad drivers to proceed into the game. It won't prevent any crashes with bad drivers.

Your best bet is to make sure you are sending in the crash reports with decent descriptions. If it is crashing in the game and not in the drivers, we may be able to resolve it. But, if it is crashing in the drivers, and only in older drivers, it is difficult for us to track these problems down.
  14. I don't have a solution to your Launcher problems. I can only suggest that you try the "How To Resolve Issues With the NCsoft Launcher" link in my signature and also try submitting a support ticket.

    Corrupted files

Right click on the game in the Launcher and select 'Repair (Consistency Check)'. That should check the consistency of your files and re-dowload any files which fail the consistency check.

Thanks! We'll get that fixed too!
  17. It's a known issue which will be fixed in a future patch. You should exit the game and restart the game and try again.
  18. A problem has been identified. The 'misspelling' should only show up at the character selection screen. Your character should show up as "Aureus" to other players and everywhere else in the game. If this is not the case, please let us know.

A fix for the problem at the character selection screen should be coming in a future patch (Soon™)
  19. In the NCsoft Launcher, right click on the game and select Properties and make sure the "Launch in Safe Mode" is not checked. If you are not launching the game via NCsoft Launcher, please let us know how you are starting the game (desktop shortcut or through the Start menu, etc).
  20. The 10.2 AMD Catalyst Display Driver appear to be the latest available from AMD for your video card and are probably the best drivers to try.

One of the graphical features which has been problematic with older drivers is the water effect. It looks like your CoH Helper output is truncated and I can't see what your graphics settings are set to. Could you try and post the output from CoH Helper again?
  21. It depends on what graphics features you have enabled and your system. Specifically, it depends on where the bottleneck to performance on your system is.

renderscale should mainly help if you are fill-rate bound on your GPU. If you are not fill-rate bound, you may see little to no change with changes to renderscale. It will not help at all if your bottleneck is your CPU.

    Can't Log In

We've identified a problem with the login system which can cause this issue. A fix is coming in a future patch.

There is currently slim chance (<1%) that you will have this problem when you try to log in.

If you get the "You must fill out the account and password fields to log in to your account!" message and are sure you are using the correct login and password, just exit the game and restart and try again.
