Quote:Just Enchanted, and that's not much to go on.You haven't seen any of the films she's been in? She can pretty much play any part -- bubbly ditz to intelligent minx.

Quote:You mean The Hidden Fortress?but it was essentially just a space opera remake of The Hidden Castle. Lucas has admitted as much.

It's natural - instinctual, even - to be attracted to a combination of youth and sexual maturity. Both of which have visual cues. Since it's the goal of marketing to attract, it follows that it's natural that such imagery might be used to attract viewers. It only becomes wrong if it involves exploitation of actual underaged people.

Nope. My Bane build still has my Crab legs.

Most of my characters play at -1 x0.
The one character I prefer to run higher than that is my WP/SS Tanker, and for him I turn up the number of enemies rather than the level. I like to be dogpiled by enemies, and I miss the days when there was no aggro cap - particularly the Perez Park Parades that used to ensue. -
Quote:I liked Kidder in the part, but she certainly looked a bit weathered, like she had been marinated a bit too long in cigarette smoke.I'll take anyone over Margot Kidder. Watching Superman on TV the other night, I was struck by just how unattractive she was. The hard-boiled reporter she had down pat. The romantic lead, not so much. She looked like someone's grandma.
I'm not familiar with Amy Adams, but from that pic of her in the article my immediate aesthetic concern is that I hope they dye her hair for the part. -

I'm interested in this movie, but I think I'll wait for it to be available in a more conveniently home-based medium.

I've fought him and failed on all of my 50s (a FF/Rad Defender, a Dark/Dark Corruptor, a Spines/Dark Scrapper (Toggle-Man inspired build - didn't really expect to win), and an Electric/Energy Blaster). I believe each of them are set to -1 difficulty.
With the Defender, Corruptor, and Blaster I simply couldn't do enough damage - he'd Bifurcate and I'd kill it and return to find him with a full health bar. Ultimately, the inspirations would run out and I'd lose or retreat.
The Scrapper couldn't kill the Bifurcations before another Bifurcation was summoned, but that's due entirely to his bizarre build.
I'd expect a Controller to be able to keep him locked down with Holds and thus prevent his Bifurcations altogether allowing him to be readily dispatched (if, perhaps, a bit slowly depending on the Controller in question). -

Ditto. I've played numerous other MMOGs and this is the only one that has kept my sub for a significant length of time.
And of all of them, it has the best community IMO - sure, I get dogpiled for some of my viewpoints from time to time, but compared to other communities it's a far less vicious dogpiling.

It was an awesome episode. And the fight between Batman and Superman was excellent. It was a nice change from all the meh-pisodes of Young Justice.

I typically played Malkavians. Gangrel were my second favourite clan. Of course, I really preferred "mummies" (a non-Egyptian variety achieved through internal alchemy, preferably), Changelings, and the Eastern were-critters and vampires.

There are two forms: Knockup and Knockback.
Knockdown is currently a low magnitude Knockback effect when it would make more sense for it to be a low magnitude Knockup effect.
Yes, it flies away from you if it's a Knockback power, and it goes upwards if it's a Knockup power.Quote:This is why when you slot knockdown powers with knock-increase, stuff goes flying.
Not really. The two it has is sufficient. If they simply changed Knockdown powers so that they were using Knockup rather than Knockback all would be well.Quote:Now, should the game be updated to support 3 different states of Knock effect? -
I like dice. I have several full sets and then some. I like to roll them en masse to add up for damage. I do not like to roll them en masse to dodge, attack, open doors, chew gum, hurl insults, dance a jig, and activate the Glamorous Gift of Paradoxically Disciplined Pathos.

I've always thought that Knockdown powers should be low magnitude KnockUP instead of KnockBACK.

That was absolutely not my experience. Starting at about level 39 (with the Patron arc) the character was just getting chewed up constantly in missions. The character went from being a blast to play, to being soul-sucking tedium solo. It was such a shocking change that it was one of the rare instances I came to the board for help, though said help proved futile. I ultimately only went back to it and got to 50 in order to unlock the VEATs. Those last 5 or 6 levels were a dogged grind. Almost as bad as levelling up my Toggle-Man inspired scrapper. Almost.

I want my most cool looking power to BE the most powerful. If it's not, there's a problem.

I had an old woman who was a retired catgirl superhero (would have been a Sonic blaster with a non-existant Martial Arts secondary) that found a cat with ice powers and returned to crime-fighting as a Cold/Sonic Defender. I used the shoulder kitty for it, but if there had been an actual pet option I'd've used it.

Quote:I'm sure you can work wonders with the right set bonuses in place. I was responding to the having-trouble-without-such-bonuses-means-build-issues comment. My 50 Corruptor only has one set, methinks, and that's the Sting of the Manticore in his snipe because I needed the toxic damage proc for the Lord Recluse battle. IIRC, Inventions weren't available until that character was in his mid-late 40s. When I started having trouble at around level 39 I came here and discussed it, but none of the advice did anything to reduce the problems. Indeed, the only problem anyone saw in my build back then was that I didn't have "Fluffy", which they insisted would be the magical cure-all. So I took the advice and in practice, I found that the pet did a lot of standing around looking like crap without noticeably increasing my survival solo, and generally just got killed on teams.Oh for crying out loud, having trouble with +0's on a dark/dark?
Geez, I made this build in 5 minutes and it's under 500mil (maybe even 300mil if you economize), and tell me it can't handle +0 diff solo,
In other news: Endurance is bad enough without running Tough and Weave, and would only be worse with Hasten. Soul Mastery is generally a better thematic fit with ye olde Dark/Dark. And a Dark character with blazing orangeish-white light at his feet (or softly glowing happy yellow hands for that matter) will be the laughing stock of GrimCon. -
Indeed, that was my experience on my Dark/Dark Corruptor as well... up until about level 39. After that, the soloing experience went sharply downhill. Eventually I set the character aside for awhile until the ability to set difficulty to -1 was implemented. Even then, I still found some encounters to end very badly (particularly when the game decides to throw the odd +1 level spawn in missions). And the only way I was able to beat Lord Recluse was by sniping him from the edge of snipe range with a damage proc in my snipe. That took ~45 minutes.

If White Wolf's system hadn't ultimately caused me to loath all RPGs that use dice pools for task resolution, I might be nostalgically interested in this.
Still, as a RPG conossieur of sorts, I have to wonder if this will be a reprint with all the horrible errors and typos of the original intact. -
Quote:Does this adversely affect Tankers' performance in the long run, I wonder? All tanker single target attacks with Gauntlet taunt effects are AoEs, and definitely roll tohit rolls as AoEs against every target within range until they hit their target cap. These rolls don't show up in the combat chat, but they do affect the streakbreaker.
As to autohitting attacks, autohitting attacks do not roll tohit rolls and so cannot affect the streakbreaker on their own. However, if they have special effects that perform random roll checks explicitly, those rolls may affect the streakbreaker. I haven't tested to be certain, but I suspect they do.
I agree that is the most likely cause of the apparent streakbreaker malfunctions.
