  1. I'd be fine with a debuff to jumping/running if it were *just* a debuff and not a ridiculous and arbitrary ban against turning on sprint and/or flight/leaping/superspeed toggles. You can zip around at superspeed, fly, and jump off the ground though other means while using Rooted/Granite but for some reason cannot activate associated travel powers? It's sheer idiocy.
  2. There's always a certain amount of sadness when one of my favourite celebrities passes, but I can't recall any of them quite managing to put a lump in my throat and moisten my eyes like this news did. The BBC should run a Who marathon of all the Sarah Jane Smith episodes.
  3. I haven't seen enough of this series, mainly because I only randomly notice when an episode is on TV. But it's actually a decent series from what I've seen.

And call me weird, but when I was a young lad I used to stage epic wars between My Little Ponies and Care Bears that might have given the Transformer vs. G.I. Joe wars a run for their money.

MLP had a sizable comic run, and I believe it even had a relatively recent set of releases from Tokyopop. Knowing is half the battle!

I never had trouble reading The Lord of the Rings. The Silmarillion was a bit difficult to get through, though. I found both easier to read than the first book in the Wheel of Time series.

As bad as the "Noooo! (The suit is mine!)" from the Superman Animated episode "Prototype"?
  6. I didn't really notice much "excess baggage" in the four books.

    1. Would you buy Base Expansion Packs?
No. Not with the current prohibitive construction and upkeep costs.
  8. Another episode with not much of anything moving forward. I get the feeling that's how it's going to be right up to the finale when they hurriedly cram in a bunch of stuff in a haphazard fashion.

You didn't miss much. Not that it was bad - more watchable than Generator Rex, IMO - just forgettable.

I dunno... the internet is small potatoes compared to the walls of reality.

It's just like Disneyland except the costumed mascots are creepier.

Not necessarily a good thing. As much as I like Gillian Anderson, it was a terrible casting choice for the wolf god in Princess Mononoke (due to her voice itself, rather than her acting - she just did not sound right for the part).

I think anime dubs in general have gotten better over the years, though. I've been watching a lot of anime streamed on Netflix, and for the most part it's been tolerable to decent. If I had to say why that is, I'd say it's a combination of me simply getting used to it combined with the fact that a lot of the line delivery seems to have gotten less restrained/flat over the years.

Arbitrarily raising the level cap might work for some games, but I doubt it would work for this one. The way they've done it they have added progression but not trivialized things like the Story Arcs from 45 - 50, the zones that have level 50+ enemies in them (Grandville, the Hive, PI, RWZ, Cimerora) and they would be trivialized on the first or second day because likely people would run AE into the ground, and they would have to because as it stands right now there isn't enough content to support it.

The way it is now there's progression with powerful abilities, but very little "leveling" and the bulk of those only exist in certain content. It's a lot easier to balance around and it provides a great deal of incentive to not abandon the rest of the game that isn't incarnate content. If ti had been just a simple max level, then we wouldn't likely have the new 20 - 40 TF's because the entire dev team would still be trying to hammer out new content.
That's all true enough now, but the point is that if they keep adding content of a boosted/level-shifted variety to challenge Incarnates it ultimately won't be true. And at that point it will be just as if they *had* upped the level cap. Catfish?

At first it has the shock value you expect, but after the fourth or fifth one the shock wears off and a certain numbness sets in.
I have to say that, at this point, if he kills off Tyrion I may become disinterested in the rest of the series.

The stuff that, if you were simply a higher level you'd lose the benefits of being higher level for by exemping down anyway?

Indeed. At that point, it will seem like they should have just increased the PC level cap in a more typical fashion rather than making players jump through odd construction hoops to get to what is essentially a higher level.
  17. Neat! I wish they had the subbed option more often.

    Overpowered?

If I ever feel a character of mine is "overpowered" in this game it will be a glorious change from constantly feeling underpowered.
  19. The movie is looking pretty good so far. The only complaint I have (and it's minor) is that I don't like the pupils visible in the white eyes.

Incidentally, for some reason Abin Sur's face reminded me of George from the Alien Nation series...

If he had a good editor, we wouldn't've gotten so many books full of "would of", "should of", and "could of".

Indeed. I've always hated it, myself. I don't level these characters up and get all of their powers in order to play them without said powers. I'd exemp down without a second thought if I could keep all of my abilities (and with that in mind, I'll freely exemp down 5 levels below my current level).
  22. I'm terrible about using consumables in any RPG. In this game, I regularly use Blues and Greens - though more often BETWEEN battles than during. Indeed, the best use I've found overall for Inspirations is to alleviate Endurance issues.

I'll use yellows and reds if they're piling up, though I prefer to use yellows when faced with To-Hit debuffs or the ever-irritating Blind status.

Oranges never seem that beneficial, so I combine or use them just to get them out of my tray.

Purples I'll use in an emergency, and then I'll get hit several times even if I popped a full tray of them and be defeated.

I try to keep one or two Cyans around just in case.

And Breakfrees are never around when I need them, but are useless the rest of the time.
  23. 'Mazing Man

Lobo (would probably be unrated Sci-Fi/Grindhouse)

Shang-Chi (some people might not even notice it was a comic-based movie)
  24. They were a bit rude, but the rather imperious "don't give me that attitude" and the excessive "you jackass" is even worse behaviour on your part. After that, I probably would have bailed on you, myself.
