  1. So... this is the official announcement of the Shotgun powerset, yes?

The first news item on the main page of the website is the aforementioned 1:30 AM PDT maintenance. It is not the "regular" maintenance mentioned on the server status page. The fact that it is irregular is, indeed, why there is an announcement in the forums and on the main website about it.

I like their dynamic (and I've liked Matt Frewer since his days as Max Headroom), but I was really impressed at how easily he picks up Carter. Frewer looks kind of frail these days, but he must be tough and wiry.

Fixed. It was 5:30 AM for me, which is nearing the end of my shift. Brain glitches are more likely to occur at that time.

Anyway the problem with Cold is that cold isn't an energy, it's a lack of energy. That's why I came up with the Vacuum Energies mechanic.

I did kinda add Lethal to Kinetic with Lethal Adaption, it's just not absorbed as well as Smashing.
I felt that the added mechanics you mention were a needless complication in an already complex system.

I also realise that "Cold" is technically a subjective appellation, and what we tend to think of as "cold" is really just "less thermal energy than we're comfortable with." For simplicity's sake, however, I'd either lump it in with Thermal (since it involves thermal energy) or leave it as a hole. I'd likely do the same with Toxic and Negative Energy (leave them as holes, that is).
  5. I haven't had a chance to do the mission(s) yet, but I'm not thrilled to hear that it Exemps you down to 20. I've never really liked the Exemping system. I'll tolerate it these days thanks to the improvements it's gone through, but I still hate losing abilities.

Personally, I've long thought that they should ditch levelled enemies altogether.
  6. Re: the Dog - it came from the episode where Artie linked minds with the dog to get a clue it had seen. After which Artie said they'd be linked for life.

Re: Claudia and Jinks - I think Claudia just latched onto him like a brother (or sister) of sorts. And she has shown she generally has problems letting go of people.

It seemed to me that I detected some reluctance in Jinks when he told Claudia to lose his number. Like the cliche of setting a faithful animal free when you're going someplace too dangerous for it, telling it to scram and possibly even throwing rocks at it, all for its own good.
  7. I would add Cold and Lethal to Thermal and Kinetic, respectively.

Also, I don't think there's a such thing as Toxic defense in the game.
  8. Neutrino Bolt can be its own attack chain.

I have a hold proc in it, and I manage to hold bosses with it on an irregular basis. Back when I made my FF/Rad Defender, I thought Neutrino Bolt was the more recommended of the two powers by guides and various discussions in these forums.

The pic in question doesn't tell anyone else to stop reading, it simply informs that the poster in question stopped reading.
  10. Preferably a harem anime where the protagonist ends up with someone.

Compared to the male's armbands they're thin little rings.

And the female barbarian belt is cool... for a dancing slave girl. Just clip a leash or chain to the handy ring and you're all set.

I wouldn't advocate changing those pieces, mind, but I do wish the girls got the "tougher" pieces that the males got.

I also wish the Barbarian Ring glove option for males was properly two-toned to match the belt and shoulder pieces. I think someone dropped the ball there.

    This is not necessarily true.
  13. So... pay 600 points for a costume power, or use a costume slot to make a pirate costume that isn't a clone of everyone else's for free... tough choice.

I haven't checked on a character that has unlocked capes normally in-game, but with the purchased ability to use capes from creation the DVD cape doesn't show up for me in the regular cape sections.
  15. I don't have any purpled out characters, and indeed the only fully IO'd character I have was IO'd out simply because he had to be in order to be remotely playable for me. And back when I did that, the market seemed a great deal more reasonable in both prices and supply. I recently decided to mostly ignore IOs, and to never take the Fighting Pool again (except maybe on a Willpower character). And I still haven't crafted any Incarnate abilities with my 50s. How's that for casual?
  16. Was the account *started* together? If not, it's up to whoever started the account, I'd say.

If you both had it from the start, I'd go with whoever actually paid for it, or paid for it the most.
  17. I liked LRT and Afterburner well enough. I didn't get a chance to try Burnout and Spring Attack. But of the four, I'd say Burnout is least likely to ever be taken by me.

He reminded me of an alien from ST:TNG as well, but for me it was Klim, the guy who ran the junkyard in the two part episode where Picard and Data go to Romulus to see Spock.
  19. If I didn't already have a 50 WP tank, I'd probably pair it with WP. It would make for a tireless Street Justice beat down.

I'm personally going to be doing a Super Reflexes/Street Justice tanker when it becomes available. The easy defense soft cap (sans Fighting) is a big draw for me.

Shield ought to be decent, and the damage bonus would be helpful, of course.

Dechs would probably recommend Dark Armor.

The thing is, rather than just going up against some guy who trademarked a random word, you'd have to go up against the combined might of Time Warner and Disney. It's probably safer and cheaper to bow to their lesser whims and hope that neither of them patents human DNA and starts charging us all for using it.

That's WW (not to be confused with WW or WWs). It's right next to AE in AP. You might see an EM/EA go there after using MA (don't ask me how they got three primaries) to get to their APP (in AP, no less). Then they may take a tour of SC (not to be confused with SC) and IP (that's PI for the dyslexic). IP is the IP of PS (PS: that's not CS). All of which is in PC in your PC, neither of which is necessarily PC. OK?

Yeah, I've been there many times. Moreso after Fitness was made inherent, though.

With the appropriate Holiday getting expanded on if it is within 4 months of it.
Great, now I'm envisioning Wal-Mart as an island chain superstore nation.

Still not saying I agree with putting such a lust worthy set so out of reach for most, just giving reasons why it could be. If we saw the Celestial set running around as much as we're seeing Rocket Boards, it would kind of deflate the significance of the set.
The only significance of any costume piece for me, is how I use it for one of my characters.
  25. I only really have one Villain in this game. He is The Dark Cliche. Being the manifestation of cliche'd villainy, any given stereotypical world-ending/changing scheme might be up His alley. However, because he is the manifestation of cliche'd villainy, all such plans *must* be stopped by heroes. Were He ever to actually succeed in such a plan, He might by His very nature cease to exist.
