Secondary for Street Justice

EDIT: Dang, I wish I could edit that thread title. Ugh. Sorry about that!

I'm planning a Street Justice tank when that set gets released but I'm really stuck on what I should do as a primary to go along with it. Right now I've got it down to three choices:

Willpower: I've played a WP tank up to about 30 and found it really effective. I worry a little about the lack of taunt though.

Electric Armor: I know very little about EA, other than a good guide I read over in the Brute forums. I've never played it. It sounds very effective and fun, and for me would be new.

Shield: I've never played Shield either, but find myself having a hard time getting past the whole having to use a shield part! Weird I know, but that just seems to pigeonhole my concept, where the other two don't. I don't think this one is going to make the cut, but I suspect it's going to be the best match with StJ.

Any thoughts on other primaries? Speculation on which primary (out of all of them, not just those three) might match up best with StJ?

Which of the three listed above would you choose, and why?

Thanks!

If I didn't already have a 50 WP tank, I'd probably pair it with WP. It would make for a tireless Street Justice beat down.

I'm personally going to be doing a Super Reflexes/Street Justice tanker when it becomes available. The easy defense soft cap (sans Fighting) is a big draw for me.

Shield ought to be decent, and the damage bonus would be helpful, of course.

Dechs would probably recommend Dark Armor.

WP/SJ and SR/SJ are going to be the two most "natural" looking and playing combinations for that, if you're going for more of a "natural" concept and appearance.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

One thing to keep in mind (if things don't change) was that it appeared that Streek Justice seemed to use quite a bit of endurance. SJ / SR would probably have to be built with endurance management in mind. At least getting to the soft cap will be easy for SR tanks so that with IO sets, you can built for recovery instead of defense (unless you're going for the trial soft cap) but I'd also build for hp.

WP has the advantage of QR and now that Stamina is automatic it'll cover the endurance issue well.

Shield can be a nice paring as well. AAO with the SJ combo built up can probably do some nice damage.

Since I build for concept I'm thinking of SR / SJ. Though since I don't like using the same set multiple times, I'm considering holding off on an SR build for Titan Weapons.

Dang, no love for Electric? Maybe I'll do that then, just to be contrary!

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to do Shield. If I didn't have to carry a shield I would, but I just can't get past that (totally understandable) limitation.

I've already got an SR scrapper, an SR Brute, and a Widow (which is very close to SR). I really really like SR, and would absolutely recommend it, but I want to do something different.

WP seems to have everything going for it. Low graphics, which I like, and it's very effective. Just the taunt limitation would be the problem, and I could maybe slot some taunt in the aura to help that (and I certainly would take taunt). The stacking recovery would be awesome too.

Still, I find Electric Armor interesting. It seems to have a high ceiling. But maybe it's just the fascination of the unknown that makes it so tempting.

Thanks to all who have replied so far!

EDIT: I should add that my concept is pretty flexible. Right now I'm planning a red haired, freckled, Irish teen but will adapt her to fit the primary. WP would certainly be pretty easy to throw in there, but Elec shouldn't be much trouble either. She doesn't have to be "Natural".

Electric Armor would be a fine selection if you haven't played it. Of my tanks, my Elec/ is my favorite. (Grounded takes some getting used to.)

I had also been thinking of an SR/StJ tank. I don't particularly like repeating sets and I've played /SR on a scrapper, but on paper is seems like they will go well together thematically.

I beta'd a StJ/Reg Brute, which helped with the mentioned end issues (similar to WP). Between the combos and regen's normal clickiness, though I decided against it for Live. WP wouldn't have the same issue.

Energy Aura is also good, but just finished leveling a brute with it, so don't want to repeat so soon - besides that just looks too spiffy with Kin Melee...

My suggestion...ELA!

Grab Tough.
Grab Cardiac Core Alpha Slot.

You're now at 86.4% S/L Resist with 90% Energy Resist.

Buy those Kinetic Combat's, and build for S/L Defense.

Then proceed to giggle madly!

I'd rule out Energy Aura, mainly on the basis that it hasn't been proliferated yet.

My top choices would probably be Invuln or SR... I'm working on a baby SR/MA tanker now and at level 12 I have ~35% Melee/Ranged defense. Yeah, that includes the 10% buff from Crane Kick but it's still mighty nice. Heck, I had over 30% to Melee at level 4!

Unless SR falls on it's face later on; something I can't see happening; it should be a very nice set.
