I'm pretty certain that IS what's being talked about here. Nearly all the Hero arcs allow you to be the BFH (Big Freaking Hero), while the majority of Villainside are, still, you get to be the lackey or Arachnos, someone else or whatever. Or, y'know, doing it 'for the greater good' in co-op content. Why do Heroes always take precedence there? I'm pretty damn sure there have been comic arcs where the Heroes have teamed with the Villains to try and do good and, while they get the consolation prize of 'X' being stopped/prevented/saved or whatever, they still just helped a Villain be a Villain. We don't GET that in this game, though; we only EVER get the other way around. And that does suck.
  2. Seriously, is it just me? Or are things just this quiet? It's getting mildly depressing now... =/

Same with future trials and TFs; the Greater Good plot is old. Add some villain/rogue specific stuff and you'll make a lot of people happy. To top it off, always add a solo path. Solo paths should never come "later." They should come alongside the 'fast track.'
Agreed. ALL of my Agreed. D-Mac and that lot are some of the best writing, IMO, hands down. The Hero side arcs of the same batch are also pretty good.

What should be avoided? Pancake-loving Pancake Dr Pancake Graves and his Pancake arc of Pancake. Even I, the ragey mc-rage bot of ultimate raging, do not have enough rage and hatred for that arc and its....I'd hesitate to call it writing, given the way it makes your character look like an utter, brain-dead, feckless half-wit. It's bad. It's beyond bad. Kill it with fire.

Because, instead of being run like companies like High Moon Studios, who's lead Dev is a massive (and awesome) geek, and Paragon, who are all awesome geeks and gamers, the 'Big Players' in the industry are run by money grubbing scumbag suits, like EA, Activision etc. They aren't making games for the sake of awesome gaming, which has the side benefit of people screaming "Take ALL my money!", no; they are instead trying to aim directly for the money. And making widdly-poor games while they're at it.

I'm sorry, bitter and jaded? What makes you say that? *CoughDIEEACough*
  5. I take Confront on Scrappers that have weapons AND a cool animation. Some of them are bit naff, but stuff like Staff, DB and TW have cool animations. And only if I need a power pick to fill a slot, something that doesn't need Enhancing. On tight builds, I skip it.

Taunt? Never skipped. Tanks are for herding every bit of aggro you can ("Hit me! I said HIT me! You call that a punch> My Granny can punch better than you, and she's dead!") and Brutes, well....Damage, damage, more damage, aggro, damage ("BROOT SMARSH!!")

The upcoming Power Pool Changes in I24 would like to say "Hello, you're wrong. Have a nice day."

Still, I think mechanical tails are about as long time coming as non-mechanical arms for Robotic Arms. Seriously, what do I have to do to get Foreshadows arms?
    Because a radioactive fire-breathing dragon lizard wasn't cool enough for them, and chrome never goes out of fashion;

Yes. VERY yes. I mean, he's apparently a 4th wall breaking extra-dimensional omni-present Seagull, for crying out loud...him having a hands-free headset doesn't seem weird at all, compared to that.
  9. Null *really* needs to be a more prominently introduced contact if he's going to be a 'stopgap' for a long time. Like, placed near every trainer/notoriety contact kind of noticeable.
  10. Might as well do an art dump, as it's quiet...

    From last years F-Art contest;

Z22 Pyre Fox, one of my characters

His younger brother, X21 Ice Wolf, and an attempt at human faces (blegh)

My personal vision of a re-designed/updated Malta group that people didn't seem to agree with....meh. Apparently bulky and outdated is the new 'in'? /gripe

We don't have any mechanical animal heads. Even being able to add details like cyber-eyes would be cool, but no...I had to shelve my mecha-dragon concept, heh

Suggestion; Remove TO and DO level enhancements, rename SOs as simply 'Training Enhancements'. Given the Dev 'lore' about trainers helping you unlock potential, yada yada, the new TOs would represent what you can do without dipping into more exotic stuff, i.e. IOs and ATOs

Give the new TOs the current SO level numbers, even make 'em scale with level if they want, and make them attuned. Bam. Slotting just because half the chore it currently is. Everyone wins?
  13. If not for IOs, then please god make SOs attuned. And, while we're at it, get rid of TO and DO enhancements. Serious question, how many people actually use those things anymore?

The biggest lesson that the community has taught me personally is how to write better villain content. A lot of feedback I’ve seen on the forums has asked for villain stories that are self-driven and proactive. It’s a lot more fun to hatch your own diabolical scheme than to have one handed to you by Arachnos. It’s more difficult to write, certainly, but the payoff is usually worth it. If it weren’t for direct and critical feedback from the community, I might not have learned that lesson so quickly (if at all).

So personally, I welcome constructive criticism. Sometimes people can get... passionate about the storylines, certainly, but isn't that a good thing? Besides, I already knew I’d need to have thick skin if I wanted to succeed in this industry.
Hmn. I like you. I'm going to call you Steve

The short version; give us more writing like D-Mac and Leonard! Those arcs were awesome! And please, never again do what you did in Dr Graves! That was....'bad'. To put it mildly....

    Impossible.

Unless they are from Transmetropolitan of course...Link NSFW due to language
  16. This wouldn't be an issue if there was consistency.

There isn't. We get gems like D-Mac and Leonard's arcs.....and then we get the Sister Psyche to Penny Yin copy-paste bloody mess that happened recently.

The Dev writers have SHOWN they can do good stuff. Ergo, there is NO excuse for producing half baked junk anymore. This isn't Issue 1.

Edit: You also made me agree with Venture. Bah, I say!
  17. So, yeah, in case people missed it, OP has been updated and Commissions are open.

Serious answer: I could think of a few QOLs for /Stone before this, but I wouldn't be against it.
Yes, because being defeated by a two inch curb is neither super nor Heroic/Villanous.
Even the Daleks can manage that. They can manage stairs! And they OLD!
  19. Much 'easier' solution; have each power grant it's own power.

To clarify; make Group Fly a click that auto-casts on pets and gives Players a pop-up asking them if they want to be granted flight. This, like shield buffs, would be cancel-able to prevent unnecessary hassle for people who had Null always accept it or needed to use a ground-only power. Bingo. No more having to have stupid cohesion, everyone gets the benefit. Heck, it'd be even more useful in stuff like Hamidon (if anyone still runs that...)

Team Teleport would, ideally, grant everyone effected in the radius a temporary teleport power. Like how the 'flying disk' Frisbee power 'gives' the other player a power, only this one has infinite uses on a timer instead.

Sounds like much less hassle to me.
  20. Bill, as usual, said it better. Thanks

  22. Pretty much, yeah. The commissioner asks the artist to draw however many characters doing whatever, whether that's just standing there looking cool or in action shots, whatever.
We apparently aren't meant to, so I won't talk about prices. The prices I can't mention are in the link in the OP
  23. Commission Status is now OPEN.
Let the Silence of the Robots begin! Heh

I'm sorry, which butt are you pulling this 'fact' from?

I have NEVER seen anyone level from 1-50 in four hours, even when AE was at it's worst. And, even then, if people are doing so, they are in the MINORITY.

People need to stop butt-pulling such figures like everyone and their dog can do so with ease.

Either way, I won't complain too much about new archetypes, provided they are interesting enough. =)
Because you cannot currently make such combinations as a DP/SR or Energy Blast/Invul character, or things like that. Which does lock out quite a lot of Hero and Comicbook concepts. Which isn't a good thing by any stretch of the imagination...
