A very simple way to make Stone Armor a little more friendly

Sad little level 50 Stone Armor tanker. Never gets played.

Big changes to the set might be too much to ask for, so how about a very small change.

Leave it all as is except for one thing.

Allow us to Jump when in Rooted and Granite, but with penalties to height and speed.

Then I would play my stone tanker.

You want to jump when your feet are part of the ground?

Serious answer: I could think of a few QOLs for /Stone before this, but I wouldn't be against it.

There was another good thread on stone armour tweaks the other week. That had some good ideas. Seems like being able to jump is the minimum people would like to see..performance wise.
I think there needs to be another minimum..for looks. This game has such an amazing costume creator, and NOTHING else in the game murders your work like granite does. And Rock Armour, also stone related. The ice and fire shields can at least be tinted, aside from the epics.
Dark armour was given options (great ones) to stop the cloak, pulse and fear effects. How hard would it be to just have a stoney tint to your characters skin..instead of just becoming a big boulder.

Eagle Claw and a couple of other powers would like to tell you: Sure, why not?

Yes, because being defeated by a two inch curb is neither super nor Heroic/Villanous.
Even the Daleks can manage that. They can manage stairs! And they OLD!

My solutions for Stone Armor have always been:

1- Remove the -Runspeed from Granite and Rooted. These are remnants of the OLD days of MMOs, where developers had the idea that making travel slow made the game longer. We've long since moved away from this in most parts of the game, I see no reason to keep it here. Also, remove both of these from the Jumping and Running groups, so that you can turn on Combat Jumping, Super Jump and Super Speed while using them.

2- Remove the -Jump and -Fly from Rooted. Make parts of it suppress when off the ground, like how Grounded works. I'd say that the Regen and KB protection should suppress, but the rest remain.

3- Remove the -Jump from Granite. Add a -Jump Cap so that you can hop over that curb, but no matter how many Jump buffs you get, you will never be able to jump onto a building. Possibly add a -Run Cap as well, but not enough that it would slow fully slotted Sprint+Swift. IMO, the -Fly can stay in Granite.

This way, you keep the thematic slowing of the Stone Armor character, without crippling him in comparison to all of the other characters that can currently leave him miles behind almost instantly.

Eviscerate says: because.
