I recently got my 18 month vet reward and with the new samurai armour have been able to make my samurai nekomatta, YAY!

But have encountered a little problem. The samurai leg armour attaches as a belt, as do the tails. So, as it stands my Samurai nekomatta is a manx samurai nekomatta!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wouldn't you tuck your tail in your armor for protection anyway?

    [/ QUOTE ]

All depends on the concept. As always, more options is a good thing.
  2. FF defenders don't have 6 minions wailing on the oposition, nor do they have an AoE Hold/vomit trap, caltrops, acid mortar and other nasty gubbins

Oh, and if you use hover and group fly, bots are even more of a nightmare to fight for melee types.
  3. And some actual, realistic looking tails, not the abominations we have atm I mean, come on, fail much?
  4. Yeah, but it's pretty pitiful really.
Why is it too complex? VEATs especially shouldnt be complex at all! They're no different from any other AT, really!
And PBs work fine in the PPD and suchnot, so why not the HEATs?

Another problem is; Why no Traps? Its really, really annoying always having to use Devices =/

Players are encouraged to report anything that breaks the EULA - an exploit is the same as a bug, so it should be reported the same.
Getting a 50 in a few hours is an exploit, and players should report any mission or arc that seems designed to make it possible - the feedback will help the devs to close more PL loopholes in the MA.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actualy, if you use the 5-gap on a 8 map mission only bosses is within the game mechanics, thus not breaking the EULA. And in such run, within the boundries of the game mechanics, it is possible to hit 50 within hours.

That you use the MA creativily, maybe not as devs would have liked you to use it, is in no way breaking of EULA.

And how much you cry, scream, kick, trash, yell, flame or spam, it wont change anything unless devs want to. And that is good, devs only should listen to constructive and argumented remarks, and since the majority is based on own personal view (including mine), it is far from the reality.

And maybe, instead of being so against it, so hatefull and so anti-farm (i sence hypocrism - or how u spell it), its better just to accept the current state and move on. Be it outside CoH since u cant enjoy it anymore, be it within the 'living hell' and find your own place of peace.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If Positron says they're going to delete or suspend 50s who were leveled too fast in the MA, I think that's a kinda hint that it's not within the EULA
Fast 50s outside of the MA were never mentioned, so the PLers can go back to doing it the way they did it before the MA came out - and as PI is pretty quiet these days, it seems the MA makes fast 50s easier than the old style PLing, which is certainly an exploit
PLing in the MA is worse than PI PLing because it clutters up the whole system - it's meant to be a creative resource for the players.

  6. What Carni said, and what I woulda said if I hadnt got a damned 'Form not Valid' >.< Sigh
  7. All this about 'Stop crying and move on' etc is the hypocrisy, really. Those who are pro-farm want it to stay the way it is, and it doesn't seem to matter whether others like it or not. From a purely detached view, I can easily imagine the same feelings being expressed, if not more vehemently, if steps were taken against farming, or at least the level it is at right now.

Personally, I find it it useful at times (the Fitness levels I get tired of fast) and detremental at times (harder to find normal teams when people are more often doing farm missions).
My main issue with it is the effect on new players, since it is so much easier to be exposed to it, when before it was really only in PI. Redside, afaik, there never was much.
  8. Bots are now fixed, thank god. And, unlike some sets, cycle all attacks just fine =]
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Dispite the recent change of pets being unaffected by +recharge, they still get stuck in a certain power.

Quite often the bruiser only trows rocks, the big bot only shoots his laser, graveknights only spam that ranged dark attack etc etc.

but i thought fireball is part of upgrade 2? (along with char/RoF)

    [/ QUOTE ]

From my experience, Bots cycle all their powers normally. AND no longer get stuck on seeker drones!
So, yeah, bad luck to everyone else, really
  10. Bots/Traps with scorpion shield and assault/tactics. Nigh on unkillable
The Combo: Poison Trap and Trip Mine. With Protectorbot shields, FF generator and the Scorpion shield, only the most ungodly slotted personage will hit you, and even then the damage is spread over bodyguard mode. Couple with Triage beacon, caltrops and Acid Mortar, Bots/traps is arguably more survivable than Bots/Pain. I may well be wrong on that, but I know I've had good results with Bots/Traps =]
  11. That's your own daft fault, the Quartermaster sells ALL SOs from lvl 35 up Ya nonce. This is why I use him rather than the blooming seller who you have to do a mission for.
I mean, honestly, who came up with the bright idea of the shops needing unlocking?

Tbh, the whole Costume system, one of the best parts of CoX, needs a boost.

    Gale = Fail

This and [Forcebolt] from the Forcefields set.
I mean, hello? Level 1 on FF is so much suck. In fact, it can really mess with some builds, especially MM builds. Shouldn't forcefields have, y'know, Forcefields? [facepalm]

    Whats wrong with farming anyway?

What exactly is different then doing normal missions? Same mobs, same goal, same powers, same exp. Sure, its more efficient since u can 'create your own group', but the baseline remains the same, doing something over and over again.

Outside 'enter mission wack mobs click glowy', what is there to do in this game? Outdoor wacking is only done in RV, with a certain goal, everything else boils down to the same basic of the game.

PL'ing can and will be done, you cant remove it. If you remove it from MA, they move to PI or create other ways within the MA to get 'doorsit' exp. Do you consider 8 people wacking 50-52 mobs in MA farming, PL'ing or doing a MA mission? Even within these missions, creativity ran wild and the most exotic and fun mobs are made.

Where do you draw the line? An 'super' team doing nonstop +4 missions grabbing some lowbies from their SG is not called PL'ing? Or is the plain issue that farming/pl'ing was made too easy now?

If they only would make a proper party-search thing, so they dont have to use /b for MA teams , non-MA players wont have to see the nonstop spam anymore and everyone can continue in peace.

All that learning-curve arguements is plain rubbish, newbs will learn be it at 1 or 50, n00bs will remain n00bs. Not MA, not farming nor PL can ever change that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's an issue when people get from 1-50 in a day, and all newcomers in Atlas park are inundated with Farm spam.

Yes, there always was farming in PI. Thats the final high end zone on blueside, where newbies only went if 1.) They knew about it 2.) They were willing to wait for a team.
That was fine. It was out of the way, it was quiet, it was unobtrusive.

In any zone it would be alright, tbh. Hell, I've farmed myself, due to getting rather sick of the lower levels over and over, and the 'Fitness levels' (14-20). But I know what I'm doing. I've been playing for however many months, tried every AT and know how things go.

It's not good to have the MA's in the starter zones, however. Tbh, MA isn't a beginners tool. It wasn't designed to be a Farm tool and, while it can be used by one and people do find it enjoyable/useful, that shouldnt be what beginners are faced with. That leads to custom mobs that are horrible to fight, due to newbies not knowing what sets do what, lvl 50s who have no idea how to play, which DOES cause a problem if you team with them, and the detrimental effect it has on the image of the game. Which, if that goes bad, means we see less subs, less money into the game, less people for us to team and play with...you get the picture.

So, no, it's not a horribly bad thing. MA allows for great stories, and for a helping hand on alleviating low level boredom for those that have done the levels too much. But a slight move would, IMO at least, be better for the longterm.
  15. Enough said
The Crey Cloning lab was the perfect finale for my arc (Ten Thousand Fists), right up until they removed it from MA.

When are we going to see the removed maps back in game? Some sort of approxy would be nice, seeing as I even have to have a note in the arc description saying that the last map is wrong!

    MA feedback

They said there was a 'feedback' drop-down or something on published missions. So that the feedback was stored with the mission.

Where the frag did that end up? Sounded like a damn good idea, thats gone to utter waste.
In game messaging, IMO, sucks bad. It really, really needs and overhaul.
  17. /unsigned

They still need to give us back stuff they cut out.
  18. I've said it before, I'll say it again;
Remove the MA buildings from only the starting zones, Atlas, Galaxy and Mercy.

That way, people can STILL enjoy the MA (as I do as well) with relative ease, but it eases the problem that, on the most part, is in Atlas; New players wondering how to play, and instantly being in MA farm teams. Because, say what you like, this is BAD for the game and the playerbase in the long run. Because people will think this is ALL there is to do in the game, or all that people want to do, will get to 50 a few times, get bored, quit. They might even tell their friends to stay away from the farm game. There is No Way that can be a good thing for the game and therefor us in any shape or form.

The run animation is designed to look good from behind. Well for female model the huge and male look awful from any direction. Also when the body is doing anything but standing still the neck stretches oddly which IMO looks awful.

But I seem to recall reading that the various animations in game were done from scratch rather than mapping an actors actual motion. That might be a nice upgrade to see and make the whole thing look better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh god wouldn't it just?
Rule number one of any game based on humans/humanoid creatures; Study your bloomin subject matter. It's elementary!

IMO, the female run animation looks [censored] horrible. Its all elbows. At least the male and huge look semi-believable, but the female arms should be lopped off an replaced, frankly.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Well, it's messed up the tailor and avatar selection screens - but apart from that, it's ok

    [/ QUOTE ]

Considering it worked fine the first time it was on test, it'd be interesting to see who caused it and why...
  21. I personally find the arms on the female models to annoy me the most. I have never, once, in my entire freaking life ever seen anyone, female, male, deranged or otherwise, stand like that. The men sometimes look somewhat ape-like, but generally pull it off. The female model's idle stance, and IMO the run pose, was made by a moron.

I think being able to alter where the wasitline is for postioning of belts and such would be nice. If I knew how, Id try and build a better system, but, sadly, I've yet to go through Uni for that sort of thing
  22. [ QUOTE ]
But it's also up to the longer term players to help them if they haven't learnt everything properly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only works if they let ya, GG trust me, I've tried, and I know I'm not alone. While sometimes its a success, like when I ran a sewer team and the peeps who did it said 'Hey, this is better than MA!' and were happy with it, other will just '[censored] I pay to play how I want, so get lost' while the farm runners (in some cases) will be particularly vitriolic. And sometimes far less cohegent than that

So, I'd like to do something, but so far it's just led me to NOT enjoy the game I play to enjoy. So I stikc to my SG, who are people who know how to play, will help people who join how to play, and are generally good company, and leave the vitriol to those that can stomach it.
  23. Now, Im usually quite patient...

But where in frags unholy name is the Science Booster pack? Its been on test. TWICE, in fact. It works FINE. WHY is it not on Live?
    -grumblemutterthreaten-
  24. Personally, I'd work on an overhaul of all the contacts/missions system. For free. Because I honestly think I could do a better job of it, and I'm at that much of a loss right now I'm serious, NC, if you're listening.

Anyhow, amen. ENOUGH of the BS talk to missions. /Signed
  25. You have a grand total of ONE attack, until level 16?
    Ouch.
