I went to make some updates to Hopeless and was quietly creeped out by the fact that, when I ran it, nothing was bugged, nothing needed changing, and nothing was different. I was sure that something would have broken it. It's kinda weird that that means it hasn't been hit by any patch in the past... year? Eighteen months?

I for one am disgusted with how you forced those people to pay a 1.999999999b markup. You should be ashamed.

Reviewing Reviewing "Farm Reviews" by FredrikSvanberg By Nihili.
Personally, I found this review bald and pedantic. -

Quote:If you need everything in the area held for 52 seconds, you're not killing fast enough. You go ahead and laugh, I'll keep the ability to hold everything in the area for 52 seconds.
If you, as a mind control character, need one power to do the job for 52 seconds, you're not aware enough.
If you feel that this is a dealbreaker over the guy who can hold things for 30 seconds, then you're taking far too long in a single spawn.
I find, in any play experience, a single long-lasting control is worthless, especially when they come with equally long recharges. A control that lasts ten seconds and recharges in two is far, far better than a control that lasts sixty seconds and recharges in five minutes. I kill a spawn and move on, I don't need an AOE hold that lasts for ages in one spot.
Levelling, before you have these layered controls and manifold options then yes, I can see an option, a use for these powers. But when we're talking about builds that are permadom? The hell it matters that you can get a higher number on your irrelevantly long mez. Gimme three controls that last a third of the time so I can kill a spawn, then another spawn, then another spawn.
Can you see why longer durations seem totally unnecessary? A duration needs to be long enough - any more than that is just unnecessary showboating. And with the damage output of a dominator, 'enough' comes very soon. -
Quote:Sure, you can put go-faster stripe on your Veyron if you must.Erm, no it doesn't. Power Boost will affect things that Dominate won't (for example Elec Controls chaining confuse and draining aura) because it works by affecting the AT modifiers for mezzes and some buffs/debuffs.
Also PB & Domination will combine anyway, which is great for the AOE Holds. -
Energy is very economical to permadom, if such things interest you. Ironically, permadom makes powerboost unnecessary, but that's the price of progress.
-
So my secondary dominator project was a dom I dusted off and reinvented for Going Rogue. A fire/fire with permadom without Hasten was the goal, and I achieved it, and I gotta say, the guy's a frigging jackal.
(Build if anyone's curious.) -
I'm kinda surprised.
At this point there's only person left at NCNC who I respect. I know that's not worth a lot, but man, it still sucks to consider.
Take care out there, man. Thanks for being reasonable. -
This whole thread has to be trolling. You're all trolling. All of you. Trolling each other. That's the only way this **** makes sense.

It's not necessarily because he's afraid to burn his money.
It could just be because he wants to look impressive and scary and cash in on the success of the 88s without having to expend things like effort.
It's basically the marketeer equivalence of hipsters talking about how they were into things before they got all popular. -

Quote:Can't I hold onto my sweet mental image of the plucky underdogs of Guardian in some ebullient land of purity where oh, hey, where did all this prestige come from? Must have been from all that FUN we're haviiiing!I'd say we have been playing the same game for the same amount of time.
The prestige farming SGs seem to come and go. The top prestige SGs on Triumph are long term active groups, who replace the usual 'churn' with new members and have been running missions TFs etc nightly since (before) COV launch -
It was noted in the last few weeks that the smaller servers still have the same general large sized prestige totals. Smaller populations, more dedicated?

Energy also gets Power Push, which is both total hax, and really useful for positioners.
Fire offers only damage. Don't get me wrong, that's the choice I'd make and suffer the consequences. But every set has its own stuff to offer. -
It's grotesque overkill. Sonic is a good fire-and-forget set, earth is great for active mitigation. Use one or the other, but using both on the same character is overkill. Try wedding them with sets with strengths in other areas. Earth/Kin, Fire/Sonic, for example.

Making a TF that's explicitly designed to be hard harder because people were doing something that made it easier is not 'screwing you.'

Quote:You could also try praying to make sure that prices came down to the level you want them to....find the most outrageously over-priced on the market recipes you have...
post them for 10 influence....
make other people aware that you do this so they're more likely to bid lower in order to get a deal
do this often...
convince other people to do this
hopefully watch prices get to something reasonable
Or ask Santa.
Or sacrifice a goat.
Or you could learn how the market works, make the money you need, and wind up doing crazy stuff like Fulmens to actually fight inflation. This is the most awesome option, of course. -
30 mag immob protection? Assuming 4 base, that's only 4 Domination-fuelled single-target-immobilizes, and those things recharge FAST.
-
Other people are playing the game! And they're not doing exactly what I'd do for fun! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS.

Such a cornucopia of flavours, such sounds and tones and changing moods... these tears, the- wait, Dechs already did that?
