Quote:And it zero's out the *player's* endurance as well.Just as a hypothetical, since I haven't run the Keyes raid yet, but it seems like his "penalty" for failing to Disintegrate a player is not in line with the benefit for success. Zeroing out endurance on an AV seems rather meaningless in and of itself, since they have so much and recover so quickly. Perhaps if the risk was a bit more balanced to the reward, it would feel less frustrating to people?

No, it's entirely the correct phrasing for it. If it was intended to be either of those conditions = badge, it would read "without anyone dying or without destroying any panels".
-
Especially when the released information on the next update is "Hey! Bucketloads and bucketloads of new content that IS for you! With more stuff each month!"
-
Well, I would celebrate pride month, but I just can't fit it into the schedule with the other four months I have to celebrate this June.

June's sure going to take a long time to get through... it's five months long already! -

The reminder/advertisement email sent out to inactive accounts didn't get there until past the start date for some people; others simply didn't notice the ad in time. Grace period = more people reactivating/buying longer subscriptions = more money.

Quote:But if you're going that route, there's no point to having the prize be IOs at all.Sold off-market, the Gladiator's Armor proc can be worth more than the influence cap...
I'd say there's a way to split that among an eight-member team.
And either way, given that it's pretty much a forced pug, there'd be a LOT of ill will tossed around from the folks who just want inf, and those on the team that want the IOs, and who gets WHICH IO, and on and on. I'd rather be on the second place team where you get a clean split than deal with all that crap. -
I managed to get all my nukes picked up. Raid ahoy!
-
So... the grand prize is something that is literally impossible to split evenly between your team? How nice of you.
-
Yeah... with very few exceptions, everything I run is first come first serve of any AT. LGTF is the only one that comes to mind that I don't. (Other than Tin Mage and Apex, but I don't actually *lead* those... I let others handle THAT headache.)

Quote:Wow, random hate dump. I think you're projecting attitudes onto me that aren't actually there. I'm not being 'intolerant' of anything, nor am I being anti-fun. It being POSSIBLE to do without holds doesn't change that it's ridiculously easier to do it with them- nor does it change that *every single pug* I've ever been in for it that didn't have the control available brickwalled at Hami and had to split.I did it back on hard mode when you needed 50 mag of hold with nothing but my tanker's app hold on the team. For a successful master of run, no less.
This game is balanced around SOs. Any rag tag team can accomplish anything, apart from maybe the new incarnate stuff. There is little that cannot be overcome with the right strategy and inspirations.
Your intolerance haas no place here. We play for fun.
I'm not pushing for requiring entire teams being an exact specific makeup, but as you put it- I play for fun. And on the LGTF, for a specific example, fifteen groups failing because they were unwilling to make ONE SLOT out of 8 go to a planned useful role isn't fun at all. If making things harder on the people involved is what's fun for you, that's fine, but being so rabidly "absolutely anything goes" that you can't deal with a single spot being saved for a role? Seems a hell of a lot more intolerant than the flip side. -
Done it without holds, or done it without a control-type AT being responsible for the holds? That's a rather large difference.
Either way, the point stands- there IS stuff in the game where tossing together random players without any planning *can* result in an impossible task.
Mini-Hami, green mitos. It's not an absolute, 100% hard requirement, but it's WAY more trouble than it's worth. -

I'm in. I can't gaurentee I'll have all three nukes (though I probably will), but I can gaurentee at least a chemical nuke, as I already have it.

Quote:I don't know if it was yours or someone else's that I was trying to get in on before, but I would like to throw up one small bit for people organizing them- if you've gotten to a point in organizing it where you're only taking specific ATs/roles, could you *let people know*? A whole bunch of people and I were just sort of quietly ignored while the teams sought ought the remaining buffers they needed. I could have saved myself around half an hour of trouble if anyone involved had just said they didn't need any more damage.Hola,
As i said on another thread, I try not to make this a scheduled Event. Well as far as I am concerned. If other ppl willing to make an official (or pseudo official) Virtue event... then ill be happy to do my share.
Anyways, since i18 came out i ran 1+ CoP a week, most of the time on Sunday night, after the Red side Hamid, or later on the night.
Last week we did it on Friday at 8pm EST, Red sidee then Blue side. And i havent done any on Sunday. I think Arky did led one that Sunday.
If you need the badge, ill be more then happy to help. We could find a schedule that work for both of us. I can normaly yell enought to my sg/vg mates to find 2 others to help lead it. (only need 3 fomr the same vg/sg). -
Quote:Well, it definitely pushes them towards a more likely situation of a god-mode scenario, but as always that particular problem remains in the hands of the person roleplaying it, not the system itself.well, yes.....typically, if someone was like "oh hai I'm an incarnate" they would kind of be....overplaying themselves, and potentially submitting themselves towards a more god-mode scenario.
Quote:My question to you: Do you RP your character as an incarnate now? did you add an interesting twist to it? or are you simply ignoring it?
Quote:Honestly, I'm mostly ignoring the Incarnate stuff IC because there's just not much explanation of it in the lore. Kind of like how I ignore the actual story implications of Invention Sets and the salvage that created them, or of the fluff behind standard Enhancements, but still acknowledge that my characters are more powerful than I'd be portraying them if they didn't have either of those.
Quote:Right now... I don't actually know what an Incarnate Shard is, or why gathering them does anything to my Mu Mystic's lightning powers or my Batman-Wannabe Stalker's Mad Ninja Skills. Same for all the Uncommon Salvage you upgrade them into. Did my Weather Wizard take that Infinite Tessalation and... what... eat it? Wear it on a necklace? Grind it into powder and inject it into his eyeball? Just put it somewhere in his apartment and occasionally take it out of its box to tenderly stroke it and call it his precious? What about my Dark Matter powered robot? Eh. Don't know, don't care.
I am definitely RPing characters who have unlocked and slotted their incarnate abilities as being more powerful than those who haven't, even if I come up with other story justifications for it, though.
Quote:One also has to remember, no one is actually an incarnate yet. They're working towards that step in the (at the end of the) story arc, not becoming one.
Quote:It's really not important to me either way.
I don't see being an Incarnate as the only way for characters (players and NPCs alike) to be extremely powerful and I don't really think anything has changed along those lines.
Each and every character origin is equally terrible and great, so I'm not going to judge, hehe.
In the end, I love the options it's provided, and have really gone pretty hard to town on it; I've always enjoyed working out in-character justifications of how all the powers I actually use *work* from an IC perspective. My close RP-friends and I have all enjoyed figuring out how tapping energy from the Well "feels" to them, what working with the energy feels like and what they do to draw it out. The different kinds of components, I play off as it simply being easier to discover, or grow accustomed to different parts of the power by fighting powerful enemies of a different type; for her, it *can* be done by beating on exactly the same thing repeatedly (doing the same TF repeatedly and using shards), or by simple repeated, directed application of her powers (fighting mobs of any level anywhere), but the breakthroughs in understanding are much easier to reach if she varies her experience. -
140 million "almost as much as a purple"? SOMEBODY hasn't been checking the price of the popular purples today. Try 500, 600, 700 million.
