  2. I really like Angelina Jolie's acting but I don't see her as Monroe. Perhaps they will prove me wrong.

    True.

I am wondering though if it goes live at midnight or if there will be another downtime tomorrow morning.
  5. I wasn't happy with my inv/ss tanker until around level 30 but it's no scrapper/brute.

You may want to consider using a Brute if you want to go the SS/Inv route. I liked that a lot more though again Inv is an endurance hog.
  6. An inv tanker would never, ever need Acrobatics.

Keep in mind you are using DOs or IOs so at best your powers are weak.

This is the layout for my inv/SS tanker at levels 1-15 but I did take Fly with DOs/common IOs:

Temp Invulnerability 4 slots 3 Resist Dam, 1 End Reduction
    Jab 2 slots 1 Acc, 1 Dam
Dull Pain 3 slots 3 Rech Red
Haymaker 4 slots 1 Acc, 2 Dam, 1 End Red
    Swift 1 slot - empty
Unyielding 4 slots 1 End Reduction, 3 Res Dam
Air Superiority 3 slots 1 Acc, 2 Dam
    Taunt 1 slot - empty
    Fly 1 slot 1 Fly

If you really wanted Super Jump, then swap out Air Sup and Fly with CJ and SJ and move the 2 extra slots I have in Air Sup into Haymaker (Damage) and Dull Pain (Recharge)

    Ah this tired old tactic.

Let's see, forum posters could have been posting for 6 years, 3 months, 2 weeks since go live for a total of 2298 days so far for those here since launch.

Tens of thousands would be a little over 4 per day average. Oh my, the horror.

In that perspective, it won't be "industry shaking."

It will, however, be very successful in its own right.

CoH was made with a fraction of the budget of other "leading" MMO's like Eq2, WoW, Age of Conan, Aion, LOTRO, and Warhammer Online-- and that made it's "modest by WoW standards" subscriber base give a very nice return on investment. Going Rogue would have been budgeted with that in mind. It will perform solidly for its market size, but it won't transform the MMO landscape (based on sales revenue and quarterly profits).
I was exaggerating for comedic effect.

I gave it a "B" in some post somewhere around here.
  9. Easy predictions:
    1. The recent hardware upgrade resulting in markets, AE and globals being down will happen and people will ignorantly blame the market merger.

    2. Market haters will blame marketeers for all their failings.

    3. Someone will post about a market price as if it is only the WW or BM on their one server yet mention the market merge in the complaint.

  11. <QR>

I agree with the OP. Tomorrow's launch of GR will be huge and industry shaking. It will rock.
  12. Setting aside the OP.

Praetoria is real villain content not the pseudo villain content of the Rogue Isles.

The ability to be free of Arachnos and Statesman by Rogue/Vigilante.

So I'd say overall Going Rogue is more for those who want to play villains than those who want to be Recluse's or Statesman's lackeys.
  13. Missing is part of the calculation of an attack. Do you reduce endurance, up damage, up accuracy, reduce recharge, etc. ?

Anyone who is missing so much that it actually bothers them to the point of wanting the game changed probably isn't slotting well or is taking on things they shouldn't be.

Ah but I enjoy the villain missions where you "rescue" hostages, they thank you and you take them to a bad place...

    <--- Guilty as charged.

    I want it now.

I remember when I crafted a bunch of commons to make 100k here, 200k there. Now I don't feel like doing it if I will (only) make 1 million.

Silly Monopoly money. If it could buy food and pay for things in real life I might care.

But you cannot blame Batman any more than you can blame every police officer who has ever had a felon guilty of a capital offense at gunpoint and did not pull the trigger.

However, this is very interesting. If only there were some kind of interactive setting (maybe an electronic one) where one could explore the morality of possibly supporting a corrupt system versus the possible necessity of committing murder to protect the innocent...
    If only!

    Forum issues?

I think it is related to their network web servers maintenance or whatever they were doing recently. I've even been logged out after posting a couple of times.

I thought we're supposed to be able to get the APPs instead of the Patrons even if we stay red.

Conversely the healer forums were slow, even though ingame they had a huge representation. If you check other games, even this one, the people who play support classes seem to be the type who are much less competetive much less likely to post. This is strictly my opinion based on all the online games I've played, of course. I do sometimes wonder if support issues get overlooked because of this but I digress.

The point that I am slowly trying to make is that I agree, the forums represent a certain particular type of gamer and not the playerbase as a whole, and those people tend to be more likely to complain (Even me!)

Then again I think its just human nature. We tend to remember bad not good. We tend to be blissfully happy and silent when happy and usually voice our opinions only if we are angered or annoyed. It makes sense though, if I had to constantly post what I liked about the game, as opposed about what I didn't like, these forums might get a bit spammed.

P.S Loving the fact other people are as excited as me. I can't wait for launch day and Nova Praetoria being packed!
I think the reason posters tend to be more likely to complain (or to praise even) is that we have invested more than just playing the game into the game.

    Side Swapping

My plans for Going Rogue and my warshades:
Level 50 -> going full on hero
Level 35 -> going Vigilante, the Vigilante power is an AoE fear which works in forms
    Level 20 -> going Villain

Okay, so before I state my ideas let me say that I know the devs have said this isn't going to happen, and no I haven't read ALL the threads on the vehicles suggestions, because A) I'm lazy... and B) I have too much of a life outside of the game/forums... So forgive me for any similarities to any other posts...

As for bringing this subject up again, I basically wanted to put my 2 inf in on the subject and also keep it alive so that hopefully eventually the devs will see how much the players want it and perhaps work it into the game... So without further adieu...
When will you be starting your "Remove ED" and "Remove Travel Suppression" and "Roll back PvP to pre-I13" and "merge servers" threads?
