My best friend saw an advanced screening of the movie and told me that 2 characters died. I said, does the ship count as a character? He then said, in that case, 3 characters die.
The first time I saw the movie their deaths weren't all that painful but after I watched the series it was horrible on the pain meter.

I learned the hard way from doing MA custom mobs that Footstomp (in particular) is a definite "no-no" on missions designed for anyone under level 20, and still pretty obnoxious at higher levels.

I will say this though, having the choice between excessive KB/KD as opposed to excessive -Def, I would choose KB every time. I can IO away that weakness.
Which is not one bit different from Council's excessive knockbacks for the kheldian arcs which sends me scrambling for a KB Prot IO at level 7 nor dealing with Arachnos and Longbow for villains nor dealing with Tesla Clockwork nor CoT mages nor trolls and pumicites in the Hollows, etc.

The only time Phipps is unfriendly is in keeping up appearances and he is apologetic about it when no one is "looking".

  6. In the new expansion they added 20 new zones for characters level 1-4 to explore.

After you get all the exploration badges you are jettisoned into an Atlas Park AE PLing team.

And, yes, I know I could have avoided the moral choice and just gone to speak with Kang without introduction, but that feels like avoiding responsibility. I want to involve my characters into Praetoria as much as I can in terms of decisions and morality, and that means sticking with it even when the going is not pleasant. In a way, I can't say this is a bad situation from a writer's standpoint, because it really serves as a wake-up call for all the puppy-eyed loyalists. This isn't an easy struggle, and sometimes, hard decisions have to be made. And this one had to be, simply because Washington decided to be a dick about it.

But I guess what bugs me the most is that this is the complete opposite of what I had my character do with Pell. With him, I chose mercy (as opposed to murder) because my character is out to protect the people of Praetoria, not avenge them. The point is to stop the killing, not to perpetuate it. Bad thing is, in the Cleo case, it was unavoidable because it was either her or Washington. SOMEONE would die, which is unfortunate.

The Warden moral choices are rather easier, in that at least it doesn't feel like there could have been a third option. Either you free the Seers or you don't. Either you let the Destroyer go or you don't. Here... The morality felt a bit forced, but I guess it is what it is.

I'm probably going to go with "You don't have innocent people murdered and be surprised with the consequences." And, I just realised that Cleo wasn't exactly up to taking responsibility for her actions. She wasn't all "There was no other way." but rather "I didn't do it! I helped you! *puppy dog eyes*" Gave me a serious case of not-falling-for-that-again-itis, though it didn't make things any easier.
Sometimes we are trapped by the options the devs have given us. I didn't like the choice here or at the very least how it is presented.

But as long as I feel someone is okay with blowing up hospitals then I am okay with feeding them to the Hamidon.
  8. They reversed Twilight's Son arc for Praetorian Ouroboros. Now you kidnap the targets and sacrifice them to Tyrant.

Don't get me wrong, I would indeed like the Defeat X to go away. They are just tedious, and outright maddening when a Rikti Raid chases the particular group out of zone(Happened to me during a Numina's tf. Needed just 2 more Warriors in Talos when the Rikti came; no Warriors for 30 minutes! Stopped us dead)
Did the warriors have to be cleared in Talos? If not, jump over to Striga.
  10. I don't know. "Ask Jeeves" a murder mystery movie involving a clueless detective and the internet.

    LOL. I remember that one.

Though all take a backseat to Jayne's heroic status episode in my laugh-o-meter.

Not trying to scream doom or anything (honestly). Just spreading what I see as the truth.
I think it would be wildly optimistic to expect the current loads to continue every night but I think it is possible we might seem them on the weekends at least for another month beyond the first. I hope.

Is that the one where you beat/recruit 3 EBs/AVs who join you against the last 3 in that big room? I love that one.

I don't feel that the difficulty in Praetoria is more difficult than CoV. I think some of the difficulty stems from our unfamiliarity with the enemies and how to deal with them.

I think both CoV and Praetoria are slightly harder than CoH enemies but nothing that cannot be overcome with strategy.

Of course, without any hard data on what happens to recipes, merits etc it's hard to know for sure. (For one thing, I'd love to know how much of the stuff in the market comes from farmers.)

The devs seem to think that transferable wealth is a "bad thing" but all these alternative systems are make the game more complicated without adding much benefit. That seems like a poor trade off for a game that's aimed at casual players.
I recall reading during beta either the theory or the statement that the devs were moving to these various merits to thwart RMT.

I did have a good laugh that base salvage and invention salvage was too confusing so they got rid of base salvage but have added 2 new types of merits after Vanguard merits were put in the game. I've seen more confusion over hero/villain merits than anything I can recall in years.
  16. Gotta side with Marcian on this one, Sam. The subject line is a spoiler in and of itself.

but once again that is just a suspension moment that we aren't supposed to worry about. the spatial relation stuff is clearly a pet peeve due to your job so its going to bother you no matter what kind of movie it is in.

thanks for the civil and fun debate.
I have no idea how an inertial dampener would work but since they have them in place to keep the living alive through warp speed and such it seems only fair the transporters would have a default setting to cancel inertia.

I enjoy that, in City of Heroes, I can hit level 50 and feel like I'm DONE. That doesn't mean I'll never play the character again, but it means my character is now complete and I can finally use all that power that I've been accumulating over the character's life span without feeling like I could be adding something more.

In some way, the Incarnate system will ruin this completely, but in another way, that too has an end at some point.
I agree but I also think that is why Positron and his end game team are focused on the content aspect of becoming/being incarnate and he wanted to pull the abilities because it was just a power grind without a real story behind it.

I hate waiting but I hope they will make me glad I had to wait a little bit longer for it.
