  1. You get merits when you reinforce a morality so the first time a villain goes rogue or a hero goes vigilante you get nothing.

When you reinforce the rogue or vigilante you get 30 reward merits the first time and 60 reward merits each time after that.

When a hero or villain reinforces the first time they get 50 reward merits and they get 1 alignment merit on subsequent reinforcements.

Been there, done that. But you still need yellows to hit them with it.

I think the axe needs a to hit buff against them to be really useful rather than a blind luck weapon.
  3. I like Praetoria the best but that might be the new shiny factor exaggerating it for me.

But I do love the way the city looks at night as I fly around it so the graphical upgrade/makeover to the old zones would be nice.

    Today's patch notes say
"Fixed a crash whenever a Tourist became leader of a Task Force or Strike Force. Tourists can now accept and lead Task Forces and Strike Forces. "

So clearly prior to this morning something was broken with Vigilantes and Rogues regarding them.

TheOcho is not a dev. He is a Mod. Mods tend to initiate announcements and announcement discussion threads. It was about 2 hours before yours.

That's fine if you want to RP an idiot. But expect to be treated accordingly by people who don't.

Or more to the point, villains cannot be in Paragon City so to assume a villain is running around Paragon City is silly. A villain who has repented to the point of being a rogue, yes.

I would also expect a sudden influx of supers from a mirror universe would be news among the supers of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.

Perhaps he's a bit of a bigot who refuses to disbelieve that stereotype no matter how many times your character tells him he donates all his money to orphanages and only takes missions to save the elderly. 9. I am not personally experiencing any more difficulty in the game, even in Praetoria. I just had to learn to adapt my style to the new types of enemies.

This is not to say ghouls and destroyers aren't more difficult than Hellions, Skulls and Council. They are. But they are not more difficult than Vahzilok, Longbow and Arachnos.

And that won't be happening for at least another month. There'd be no point, except for Fulmens inf destruction project, to buy a-merits for the PvPs selling at 1 or 2 billion inf.

I know they work differently but would think that if tips could be held in escrow, so could V or H merits.

I haven't tried switching a character yet, but I certainly hope that there is a notice presented in bold, flashing and bright colors that you will lose V or H merits if you switch sides because that is a huge loss to surprise you with.
There's a Red warning message about changing alignments and losing alignment merits.

If you go back to hero, does it remember you were a hero once before and that you already paid your 20 or do you have to pay AGAIN?

If he's not asking that, then I am. =)
Well I would assume (but am far too lazy to test it) that since we lose all our hero stuff if we go to the Rogue Isles and all our villain stuff if we go to Paragon City that you start all over and just get the 50 merits and would have to pay the 20 million again. However if they have 2 secret badges that track those rewards were already given out then it would be an a-merit.
  17. Unbridled optimist. I'll bet we get 2 in Player Questions plus 3 more that are rants about it plus 3 more here plus one rant.
  18. What if timed missions could be adjusted based upon difficulty level? Granted we would need a difficulty slider in Praetoria first but if any setting above the base +0/x1 kept the current time limits, add some percentage of time if +0/x1 and more time if -1/x1.
  19. The real reason they made the new merits is:

they wanted to show how confusing it would have been to have kept base salvage in the game.

You don't get any merits at all when you switch to an alignment the first time.

And let me add, I don't mean the real first time either. If you go villain -> rogue (none), rogue -> hero (none), hero -> vigilante (none), vigilante -> villain (none). Rinse wash repeat.

It is only hero->hero, villain->villain, rogue->rogue and vigilante->vigilante that you get a reward of merits.

He/She gains exactly what I gain when I level a hero or villain to 20 now. Nothing. I already had 50s of each already.

Yet everytime I level up a character to 20 I get the Epic Unlock message.

In fact, I think I will go so far as to say that restriction only applies to those who have ONLY purchased Going Rogue. I don't know of anyone who would purchase the old game, create an account on it, and then purchase Going Rogue and apply the code to it, but I would guess that would give them access to the old content right away.
It's not an assumption. New accounts cannot start except in Praetoria unless they don't have Going Rogue.

This should not depend on whether you started them in Paragon City, the Rogue Isles, or Praetoria, or whether you change sides. (Only ONE side should be available when you hit 20 in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles. You cannot switch sides until after the unlock has already happened)

Since so many of us already have EATs unlocked, because we came into this with characters above 20, I'm not sure we can be 100% sure about this until it has been thoroughly tested. Even what a red name says "should" be the case may not be the way it is currently working.
    It's not complicated.

Praetorians at 20 unlock the ability for new accounts to start heroes or villains in Paragon or Rogue Isles. They have the Praetorian badge.

Characters that can only start in Paragon are blasters, defenders, controllers, tankers and scrappers. They will not have the Praetorian badge. At 20 they unlock Kheldians. They cannot switch prior to 20.

Characters that can only start in the Rogue Isles are corruptors, dominators, masterminds, stalkers and brutes. They will not have the Praetorian badge. At 20 they unlock VEATs. They cannot switch prior to 20.

    Matrix for unlocking:
    Praetorian Badge -> Level 20 -> Unlocks Heroes/Villains*
Hero* AT + No Praetorian badge -> Level 20 -> Unlocks Kheldians
Villain* AT + No Praetorian badge -> Level 20 -> Unlocks VEATs

    * as defined since CoH and then CoV launched

    2 ?s

It's hard to say. On the one hand I have 135 characters though 33 charactersare 30+. Ten are 30-32, seven are 35-38, two are 41-44, one is 47 and 13 are 50.

I have one with a second build.
