No kidding. I don't want to be tokenless until December 2012... (12+2 plan)
  2. I am trying to decide which day during the 2 weeks I am going to take off to run as much of this as I can...

I can never seem to get enough KB on those jerks to get them into the lava before I kill them and I so want to watch the Voids burn.

I want to kill Hardcase, rez him, and then kill him again and so on until I get bored with it.
  6. I have run hard with Windfall twice on 50s. I've gotten no rare drops except temp powers, no shards, etc.

Then I went and played another 50 without windfall and of course for 2 shards right away and a rare boss recipe.

So yeah I hate the PRNG.

    Yep.

They should set the price at the point where it makes them the money they want for it.

I have no idea how they can determine that price point but I would hope with the new model someone is in charge of figuring that out.

So if you don't get your points you have nothing to complain about because they were free.

We cannot use the before comparison to the current because before points were not part of the game.

Before $15 = 1 month of game access
Now $15 = 1 month of game access, 1 token and 400 or 550 points depending on Tier Level.

This is not unlike an all you can eat buffet including the drink. If you were told you could not get a drink because the machine was down would you be "oh well, at least I get the food. the drink was free anyway"?

This is a new game. This is Freedom. The purchases have changed. These guys are not crying for entitlements or demanding free stuff. They* are asking to get what they pay for when they pay for it.

*Me? I don't care. If I did I'd be "demanding" my 14 months worth of points and tokens when they charge my card. But they are making valid points about this.

You're really making a big deal out of nothing. And your example above doesn't apply because you're not paying for the free 400 points.
So what are people paying a subscription to get now that there is more than just monthly access for the payment? Can they just not give the 400 points since they aren't being paid for and are free?

It's catchy. Kind of like when I "demanded" in a post years ago for Positron to tear down the walls (between markets).

And therein lies the entirety of the issue for those wondering.

When Freedom launched I bought points for my subscribed account and an old one. I got both points and tokens immediately.

TrueGentleman's point is valid. If they take your money on the 5th you should get your points and tokens due after that payment transaction not on some later date. This should absolutely be the case for people automatically paying each month just as it would be for someone manually re-upping each month.

Of course, if it's laid out clearly at the time you buy it, on the page where you pay, that it's spread out over a time period, then that's fair enough. If it DOESN'T, then UK law at least requires that you should receive all you paid for at the time you paid for it.
The points and tokens are new additions and I hadn't considered the implication of my pre-paying each year until this. I'm probably better off getting them budgeted out to me each month but you do make a good case.

Not that I'm anything other than mildly annoyed by the delay or anything, though I do roll my eyes at their lack of programming ability to issue the things when people pay their subs.
That actually is a good point but do you mean that as an annual subscriber should get all my 14 months' points in 2 weeks when the next payment goes?

I see your problem. You believe part of the $15 is buying a server transfer token you don't want rather than it being a bonus freebie that you don't want.

If you think a bonus free thing you don't want is even remotely related to flaming bags of poo on your porch that's your problem.

I am waiting for people's reviews of powersets plus a couple weeks of potential live tweaking before I buy them.

Besides after the initial rush they could go on sale in a few months.

I would strongly recommend Paragon Studios not open that pandora's box.

Its one thing for the numbers to just happen to be available, just like all other powersets are, with the same understanding they are subject to change just like all other numbers are. Like oh say in the character creator screen, perhaps. But once you say its an obligation to release numbers, and you set up a specific system for releasing those numbers that goes beyond what the game automatically allows for all other powers, you cross the line into territory that frankly I would prefer not have to witness the fallout of.

No MMO player has the right to expect that any specific element of the game will not change, particularly powers. If you can't handle that at all, you shouldn't play MMOs. If you can handle that in theory, but not for powersets you purchase separately, you shouldn't purchase powersets. Anything else is impractical.
would it be fair to say the tl;dr version is "Nerfs/buffs happen"?
