My in-game ping went from 130 to 240
Strangely Pingtest.net gives me a ping of 147 to Austin TX but my in-game ping is still ~240

Easiest thing to do is save your binds to a file, edit the name of the channel and then reload the file.
In game type /bindsavefile nineclaws.txt
This will save all your binds to the file nineclaws.txt in the /data folder of your CoH install
Then find the file and edit with notepad to correct the names of the global channels that have changed.
Then in-game type /bindloadfile nineclaws.txt
This reloads all the corrected binds from the text file into your character.

My global was eaten and now I'm.....lost
I'm not sure what I'm gonna name myself. The merge left me named after one of my lowbie alts which will have to be changed at some point.

No dissing the chaps who very kindly upload their handheld videos to youtube after these things but it would be nice to have something where the presenters weren't drowned out by the background noise and the powerpoint slides were in focus

Positron famously ridiculed the idea and joked in a closed beta forum that he would just have to rename such a badge the "I paid real money for this badge" Badge. They came up with the "NA to EU" deal as an alternative to this.
Turns out the joke is on me as I used the same account name for my NA account and now my EU account is going to be renamed in the upcoming merge because of this one-use NA account.

Raise a ticket. Despite what Beastyle says, it's worth a shot. If enough people do that and ask nicely for something to be done, it might help push them to change their minds.
Just make sure you make it clear that the inactive account is on the same master account. It's probably the only incidence where we have a chance of persuading them to change policy.
I understand not deleting accounts, as an application dev myself I never delete records, just mark them inactive, but a simple text field edit shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility unless as FFM speculated they have been spectacularly stupid and used the name field as the primary key and account identifier.
So far I have been pointed at the KB article telling me I can't change my account name and informed they can't delete my account "To maintain the continuity and accuracy of the user database".
I've asked them politely to escalate my request for account renaming, we'll see where it gets to. -

Yup, I got this email too. I've emailed support because the NA account I'm clashing with is mine, opened ages ago just for the Passport badge and never used after the initial 30 days.
So far the only reply I've gotten is a cut and paste to the KB article that tells me I can't change the name of my account.
As far as I can tell there's no option to delete an account either so I'll wait and see if they reply to my follow up.
EDIT:
Their reply is "no, we can't delete your account."
Not so much "support" as a brick wall

Yup, having the same problem from the UK. Sometimes the pages will load instantly as they always did but most of the time I'm left hammering the link and refreshing until the page deigns to load.
Very frustrating and the only site I have any problem with. -
Running the new trials tonight I half saw a bunch of captions hidden behind my map and wished we had the ability to move them somewhere more convenient.
There's such a lot of items that need to be visible at once it's a shame to lose the top left corner of the screen on the off-chance that captions appear there. It would be much better if we could move them somewhere that's not normally used.
