It's a placate proc IO. It's broken and works 100% of the time instead of the intended 20% or something. Every single time you use will dom, you placate your target, and there's nothing they can do about it.

Can't possibly happen. By doing that, they would admit to the entire playerbase (and really the entire video game world) that they basically destroyed a game. To admit to one of the biggest failures in MMO history is not something any developer will do. We know it happened, they know it happened, but they will NEVER actually admit it happened.

Psy is definitely better. It has arguably the most broken thing in the game - placate proc.

Reitanna are you Russian or something? Why does barrier call you a commie?

Colonel Jasmine had a very detailed zone guide she made years ago. Might want to search for that. Also, her forum name may have been Col Jasmine. I'd just search for "Jasmine" as the poster.

My last conversation with Mod8 showed me that he's actually kinda cool.

I really don't see why anybody would play a bane when you could play a NW instead.
Maybe I'm missing something, but a NW seems to be able to do absolutely anything a bane can do...except also with inherent KB protection and Elude. -
It comes down to winning. When people first come to Freedom, they're willing to play everything they got, just because the active PvP is fun, and not something they're used to.
But after a bit of time they settle into it, and go back to playing the easiest thing they have, because it's more fun to win than to lose.
As far as uneven sides, that is probably the biggest problem with zone PvP. It's unfair literally 90 or 95% of the time. But every single suggestion given by the players about it over the last few years has been completely ignored, so just get used to it. It will never change. Again, it's more fun to win than to lose. Few people will switch to a side getting owned, just to get owned themselves. -
Quote:It's ok to limit lineups to an extent. I don't think anybody wants to ever fight an 8 stalker team. Regardless of whether it can be beat or not. It's simply zero fun.I don't like the idea of limiting the amount of X Archetype you can bring to a match. Such a provision limits lineups, not the exploit-ability of sharks.
I highly doubt anybody would complain if there was, say, a 2 stalker per team limit. It still gives some people a chance to spam sharks, but it guarantees that it won't be a ridiculous amount of spam. -
I don't understand what the debate is even about. The argument is to either ban sharks or limit the number of stalkers. Most are leaning towards limiting the number of stalkers, which will probably mean 1 or 2 per team. So there will be no such thing as a "stalker sharks team".
If your team can't handle a total of 1 or 2 stalkers throwing sharks, then the team has problems. Stalkers that can actually AS will always be a bigger threat. -
Yeah just PA and phantasm (which also spawns a decoy) for targeting disruption. No reason to be Ill these days other than that. SI is completely useless because of stealth+stealth IO.
I think most Ill/emps were just made back in the day when it actually meant something. -

Quote:I know how it works. Which is why I said "it's a big part of people's builds". It would be like telling a blaster that he can't use his tier 2 blast, but not to worry....he doesn't have to respec. Fact is, if you can't use sharks, anybody that actually cares about winning will have to respec into a pool they actually CAN use.A rule against sharks doesn't require anyone to respec. You can have sharks, you just couldn't use it. It's not like anyone would have to respec, unless they didn't take AS or something.
Either way, it sounds like I'm not the only one that has this opinion, and you guys are leaning towards allowing sharks, and just limiting stalkers. That really does make more sense. Few people will have serious problems with 1 total stalker spamming sharks, especially considering that widows can make the stalker close to useless for a whole match. -
knockdown and knockup are the same thing as far as mechanics are concerned.
-
My only input is regarding sharks.
Keep in mind, you're doing this on Freedom, not test. Also keep in mind, like 95+% of stalkers have sharks.
So what do you expect people to do? Specifically respec their character JUST to play in this league? Not gonna happen. As broken as sharks are, they're a big part of some people's builds. No casual or semi-casual player is going to waste 2 respecs just to attempt playing in this league, the success of which is unknown to anyone.
Basically, if you really are interested in getting new people into this thing, don't ban one of the most popular powers in the entire game. A 2 stalker, or maybe even 1 stalker limit would work much better, I think. -

It does like 100% more end drain than it's supposed to. Or maybe 1000% more. Something absurdly broken.
