Bane for disruption? (build too)

I was wondering if there was any real reason to play a fort since a bane can make a reasonably comparable stalker hunter and is still able to do some disruption debuffing on a spike.

I was wondering how viable something like this would be for arena (some zone) and how the build looks.

I was hoping to get tactics atleast so I could solo cap perception, but I didn't really feel strong enough to drop fitness or jumping...

Also placate would have been nice.

You are probably going to get tossed like a ragdoll with that build ;_;. I posted the build I use on mine in an old thread here
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=203257

It can use some tweaks but it is viable. You want to try to cram as much ranged defense , kb protection and +hp as you can into any bane build. They do work extremely well as disruption. You will definitely want to go with p ray over any other ranged attack. That long dot is sexy. Be aware that wawg does mess with kb on the target.

Edit, missed acro in your build so the kb should be fine. Mine doesn't have it so it was a brain fart.

Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

My build has 50 more hp and hiber instead of phase...I still have basically the same kb prot too.

Yea, I know wawg has -kb, I'd use that off target / maybe even on a stalker.

Figured I'd want p-ray but wasn't 100% certain, thanks.

Is that ranged defense really gonna save me that much over the hp and hiber...?

Veats are one of the few toons left that can get any real benefit from large amounts of +def. Now if we could get the devs to give them a touch of elusivity and maybe a small damage buff.

I'd be all for giving back the 15% damage that was taken away. However, I can't support giving elusivity to banes. Between their CT: D being ranged defense, the available resistance from the passives, and the high hp cap, if built correctly it would have survivability around regen's level.

As for the defenses making a difference… A toon with 70% accuracy from slotting, and 40% from sets, and tactics will have an 83% chance to hit a toon with 31% defenses after DR.
The same toon with….
33% defense will have a 77% chance to be hit.
36% defense will have a 69% chance to be hit
39% defense will have a 60%… and so on.

That is without elusivity. IMO every bit of defense counts.

I really don't see why anybody would play a bane when you could play a NW instead.

Maybe I'm missing something, but a NW seems to be able to do absolutely anything a bane can do...except also with inherent KB protection and Elude.

Unless I'm thinking about it wrong I don't see a reason to go widow over bane...atleast banes have another webnade and surveillance

Banes have more HP and the build isn't quite as tight as a Night Widow.
