  1. I hate when people complain when they die, like it's not their fault at all. Yeah, you could've healed him a bit more (I would have personally), but if you're built more for debuffs, you're doing what you're supposed to be doing.
  2. Yeah, I know, guess that's what I'll wind up doing if I get another one. The Market makes it easier.

I don't mind losing my powers while its in use, but to have to return everything on? total waste
How is it a total waste? So you have to spend less than a minute retoggling stuff before a mission. Are you that strapped for time?
  4. I'm kind of upset that you can't sell them. I don't see myself using them in any other character and I'm sure I could use the INF a lot more.
  5. Fun:
    - Costumes, oh, the costumes...
    - Open Concepts. I've got characters that run the gamut: a wereweasel, classic superheroes, a humanoid killer whale, a WWII fighter pilot turned thunder god, an one-man alien invasion force, an average guy who happens to work for Arachnos, and (soon) a sentient water in a robot suit
    - Soloing.
    - Brutes, Tanks, Masterminds and Dominators, my fave four.
    - Role-Playing with a fun group.
    - Joke Characters. The aforementioned Arachnos soldier took Pummel at first level because his superiors neglected to give him bullets for his rifle.
    - The 10-40 range.
    - Fighting Nemesis. The guy's just such an awesome villain.

    Unfun:
    - Anything endgame. I've deleted and rerolled most of my 50's because there was nothing to do, and then when there was, they were trials.
    - Trials, and specifically, the people who nominate themselves as leaders on them. It's rare that I don't have to bite my tongue to keep from snarking the whole time.
    - Blasters. Just don't see the point to them.
    - Malta. Oh god, Malta...
  6. I have it in Tornado on my Mercs/Storm. Definitely an improvement. I still have and use Gale and Hurricane as positioning tools, but good ol' Tommy Twister was a maniac with his knockback.
  7. Anyone else notice that the Tornado is kind of unmotivated with this enhancement in it? Before I had the KD proc in him, Tommy Twister was running around and chasing enemies. Now he just sits there listlessly and doesn't take any initiative on his own.

They could have easily first gotten together in the last one, and the clone wars were made into little more than a gift to all the Boba Fett fans out there.

  10. Star Wars fans have got to be the most fickle people this side of hardcore Nolan-Batman fans.

I still can't grasp how anyone can prefer Episode II (an entirely unnecessary movie) and III (watch how Anakin Skywalker goes from indecisive over turning to the dark side to killing children in no time at all) to Episode I, which isn't such a bad Star Wars story (though it has little to do with the grander arc of the series).

He has superpowers. He's saved the world. He's got his own rogue's gallery of villains. Sure, he's gone on a rampage and destroyed some stuff, but the Hulk's a superhero too.

Godzilla and the Doctor are my two favorite non-American superheroes.
  12. I know the point is high defense, glass jaw, but is there any other way to not fold like a wet paper towel on a SR character when the enemy gets a lucky hit in, aside from grabbing Tough?
  13. Can we at least get some bullet points on what was discussed? Why is this such a hard bit of info to get?
  14. I'd still like to know what was discussed. I generally like the community in Guardian, but I'm left wondering about one thing: Why, when the goal seems to be to strengthen the community, am I finding out about this after the fact, and when I noticed the commotion in Pocket D, why wasn't my question of "what's going on?" not answered?

Not that I'm trying to be as hostile as I'm sure I sound, but as great as the community can be, there is this feeling of it being very insular at times and hard to break into.

    It's... frustrating.
  15. So what exactly was discussed, who decided that this was necessary, and who put which people in charge of this?

If I have SG mode on (over level 29) AND I have no xp, double INF on, do I:

    1) Get 100% INF (50%x2)
    2) Get 150% INF (100%x2-50%)
    3) Something else?

I'm assuming #1, but I haven't actually tested this since I don't pay attention to INF anyway.
You can set yourself to get double INF?

We got respecs grudgingly- the old guard was hostile to the idea and wanted extremely limited access. They made the process as annoying as possible in keeping with their design philosophy that time spent dealing with wrongheaded nonsense counted as "content" (see: old transit system, DO & SO naming conventions, stores not marked on maps, etc).

the ever increasing complexity of the modern game makes respecs a valuable tool- they're not just a last resort OH CRAP button anymore.

    The interface should reflect this.

The interface is garbage and is in dire need of an update/makeover reflecting the massive changes since whatever long ago issue added it to the game.
I don't think the respec interface is archaic or garbage. It's basically just getting to choose your powers and slots again from scratch. It's no more of a hassle than leveling up. Also, not everyone uses a third-party offline program to do their respecs. (And what was wrong with the old transit system or the enhancement naming conventions?)
  20. It shouldn't be time consuming? It's not really time consuming anyway, and removing the last sentence of my post also removes the very "why?" you're asking.

Making it faster would lead to more mistakes made, which would lead to cries from the player base that the system sets you up for mistakes so you have to buy another respec and yada yada yada. It works fine the way it is, and it's not difficult.
  21. I don't see what's so difficult about it. Yes, it's time consuming, but that's kind of the point. You make less mistakes if you take your time.
  22. Lightning Storm sucks?

For what it's worth, I enjoy the Storm set much more than Dark, and that's really what's most important.
  23. I usually try to have a goal in mind for my builds, especially those I wish to IO out. I know Doms want Recharge, and melee types want capped defenses (and who doesn't?) but what would be a good direction to aim for given these powersets? Any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance.
  24. I usually don't form teams just because I feel like I'm terrible at it. Other players usually are able to put a team together much faster than I can for some reason.

I also dislike doing trials or being on teams/leagues with leaders like those Toast mentioned. I get that some of the content requires a certain approach, and my first time out, I'm fine with some direction, but there's a difference between guiding people and either hand-holding or barking orders.
  25. I like it, but what should I do instead of the Hami-O's, I did that raid once and I'm just not gonna want to do it again. Also, any idea how much this might cost me? (I already have the +3% Def, but I know this is looking pricey otherwise.)
