I'm still holding out for the chat holy grail... You know, the one that keeps all your assigned global chat colors when you zone?
-
You can no longer invite trial accounts, however many people on this forum, myself included, are more than happy to log on to any server to perform invite duties. Just let me know when and where
-
Nope, it would have to be a hugely complicated keybind.
-
You can, however, use /teamselect 1-8 to target teammates.
You're probably going to have to use bindloads to do this.
It would be something like push button a, fire power, load keybind 2. Push button a, fire power, load keybind 1.
Unfortunately I'm not at all talented with writing something this complex so I can't help you beyond that. -
Quote:I'd just like to point out that the physical box for the Architect Edition doesn't talk about anything else aside from a brief blurb about bases. It doesn't mention the game at all outside Architect. I think some of the problem lies in marketing.This.
Another poster also mentioned that the PL-quotient of AE seems "tuned a bit high." I agree.
Also, that a whole slew of new players appear to have been drawn into the game, but aren't seeing the game beyond the MA suggests something is broken to me. Removing the AE building from starter zones might be an idea. Some of the anecdotal stories are truly shocking, like the level 50 tank who thinks a /regen scrapper was supposed to heal. Good grief.
The genie's out of the bottle though, and I'm not sure it can be stuffed back in. Not easily, anyways. -
Quote:Ahh thank you! I checked the Announcements and it wasn't there, didn't think to check discussion at all!

Quote:What, what? What are you talking about, -another- double xp weekend?Fail.
At numerous times there were freezes at virtue confirmed by entire teams, no exceptions, and many people saying the same thing with help and broadcast.
Just because some of you were not online during those or at different servers does not mean anything. He may be experiencing issues at his end but these are so widespread that they just gave the players ANOTHER double xp weekend.
These flames would not be here if the OP was not belligerent, but it does not make them more credible. -

Quote:I was just going off what they said. It's their logic that doesn't make sense. I'm sure they didn't mean for a person to be able to have a signature that's 1280X720 if it was only 70kbyou can have an image that is 452 x 387 as long as the image is under 146.5 kb, according to your logic statement.

Quote:Take the gun away and the shooter will find another weapon. Plenty of people own guns and don't use them to hurt others, just the few that had issues before they got the gun. It isn't the tool that's the issue, the gun can provide you a meal or you can use it to hurt someone. The knife can help you prepare a meal or you can use it to hurt others.
The tool is just that, a tool. You can use it for its intended purpose or you can use it for something entirely different. A lollipop stick is just that, unless you stick it in someones eye, then it is a weapon. It is up to the user of the tool to abuse it, not the tool itself.
Exactly my point, but with more eloquence, thank you. -
Exactly my point. Take away one thing or change it, and people will find another way to do what they want. IT IS THE PEOPLE. I refuse to believe that people cannot be held accountable for their actions. -
I should think people complaining about the AE babies would be happy if they never left Atlas Park. Then you (generic you) wouldn't have to worry about them showing up clueless on your PuG.
Honestly, how is it hurting you, personally (generic you), if they never leave Atlas?
I have a wide level range of characters and I have yet to actually run into or be inconvenienced in some way by a new player who leveled from 1 - 50 in a day. They simply don't exist for me.
Chances are, these kinds of AE fluffers will stay in AE and never touch the game outside of it. So what? Who cares? They are still paying $15 a month to do it. If you (generic you) consider that wasting their money because you think they aren't seeing "the real game" so what? Hundreds of thousands of people blow their cash on frippery frappe grandes with skim and a shot of espresso EVERY DAY. Are you going to tell them how to spend their money? -
Quote:Guns are the problem, not the shooters. The TOOL is the problem, not the players who abuse it. You fix the tool and you have no abuse. If you give people a weapon, a majority will take advantage of it. It is ridiculous to say that the shooters are to blame.
AE is the problem, not the players. The TOOL is the problem, not the players who abuse it. You fix the tool and you have no abuse. If you give people a shortcut to 50, a majority will take advantage of it. It is ridiculous to say that the players are to blame.
Note: This is just an analogy. This is not my belief. -
yeah, on one of the announcements for the forum migration, or during one of the conversations, I can't remember, they said that handles would not be able to be changed afterwards, and to change it to what you wanted before it happened. Sorry they didn't make it more obvious.

Quote:You obviously don't remember the days of level 1's hoofing it to PI to sit next to the ferry while their PLers went off and killed scads of mobs.Come on. Blame the players? Really? AE has no role in this? Without AE they can't farm to 50 in atlas park. Players who go from 1-50 in any other alternate route to 50 don't ask me questions like what does "LFT" mean.... which I got this weekend from a lvl 40 while I was trying to form a team.
Using your line of reasoning we might want to blame those f-ing new people just joining the game also. Those jerks, coming in here joining an AE farm team. Yeah thats the problem.
DocHeal is right, AE is the problem. Lets revert the AE system back to what it was intended to be in the first place. Remove the xp from AE and reward alot more merits. People doing missions in Architect ENTERTAINMENT should be doing them as entertainment not as farming vehicles.
Since its being marketed to the public as a way to go from 1-50 they will never take away the xp from AE. So I say remove AE from all zones except Talos, IP, Bricks, FF and PI. Make it harder to get to farms instead of having endless broadcast farming messages introducing new players to the game once they created their first character. If we aren't going to address this problem we might just remove all zones from the game and just have Atlas Park and rename it to "ChampionsOnline is Coming Soon Get Your Copy Today".
The range for XP sidekicked thing was put in because of stuff like that.
PLing is NOT a new thing. People who want to be PLed will go anywhere and do anything to get to their farm, it does not MATTER where you put it. It is just as easy to get to Talos, IP, Bricks, FF, and PI as it is to get from Atlas to Galaxy.

Have you played any of the actual stories and arcs in AE? At all? Or are you just blaming it because players made farms, and other players used them?
AE is NOT the problem. The people farming it are the problem. -
It can't be changed. However, if you're worried about the "NA" on the end, it's being worked on.

Quote:"Tagging along on AV arcs is playing". How is that different than tagging along in arcs in AE? Some people have put tremendous effort into their arcs in AE, and it shows. Those arcs shine, AND you can level from 1-50 by doing perfectly legitimate arcs.Honestly, to answer that - if someone leveled from 1-50 doing missions, even if they were papers, that would be fine to me. At least they experienced the game. Also tagging along on AV arcs is playing.
My 'beef' as I would call it is with players ONLY doing AE. And its not even the fact that they get to 50, its more to the fact that we pay $15 a month for the devs to develop new arcs, zones, etc and it just seems like a waste for all the effort to make a great game and they never experience it, or seem uninterested beyond 'getting a 50'.
If you're talking about AE -farming- that's a different animal, and again, all I can say is please don't blame AE itself, blame the players, but remember, ultimately, it's THEIR $15. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the idea of AE babies any more than the next vet, but I haven't actually RUN INTO any of them so I can't speak from personal experience.
No one has called vets "noobs". -
Quote:I just wanted to touch on this. AE is -marketed- as an alternate route from 1-50. If a player did 1-50 in 2 days doing all newspaper missions, would you still be upset? How about if a player did 1-50 by tagging along on a praetorian arc over and over? Or by farming in the Fab?
Plus when a loading screen says 'You can level from 1-50 within Mission Architect' - to me that just sends the wrong message to new players. It's like saying - you want a 50 - do AE and you won't have to play the game.
All are viable routes to 50. All can produce the same inept players when handled improperly, so please don't blame AE for doing what it was meant to do - level players 1-50. Blame the players that level newbies 1-50 in 2 days. -
I had a great time. Didn't reach my goal of getting a level 50 villain on my second account, but I got her to 44 so it was a good run. I also got a bunch of lowbies to the magic levels of 14 and 22, and I didn't have any problems with connection on Virtue until late last night, when it was bedtime for me anyway.

No, I meant post the link here so we can figure out if there's a problem.
