Wow, that much positive answers to mine...
I took Glowing Touch for fun at 47, because I have nearly all the powers I want and was looking for something that I didn't have to slot.
I was teaming with a Reflex Scrapper at that time and it is quite useful in a case like that but not overly so... -
Hmm... difficult. I always say:
Don't get self rez before self heal, even more so if you don't have Shining Shield at least...
Proton Scatter I never tried, but that is because I only heard of it being dissed by others who tried it.
I love my Photon Seekers as the great equalizer when my surroundings get crowded by mobs.
If you already have a solid attack chain, I'd say heal, else the "Village Idiots"... -
Live fast, die young, leave a good looking corpse...

Sure Dwarf has nice resistance... and nice mez-protection in fact.
But we have zero defense and can't get any without outside help. It bothers me that I can have more resistance in humand form - and more defense - than in dwarf.
Give me a good team and I could tank better in human form than in dwarf form if I took the right skills form the presence pool.
The only thing that dwarf really improves apart from mez-protect is the 75% HP gain which works similar to an additional resistance, right, but even in dwarf form you have less HP than a tank of the same level.
Don't get me wrong, Kheldians are a nice concept and I had lots of fun levelling my PB to 47 now, but I asked myself why I spend so little time in Dwarf form now and the answer is: It does not feel the damage soaker I think it was meant to be.
Most of my time - solo or in teams - is now spent in human form. Mostly because this form is hit the least by ED.
And I don't call myself 4-form PB for nuthin'... even unslotted Light Form outshines Dwarf Form when combined with the human shields... -
I'm not so sure about that.
With the I6/ED Nerf I'm normally tougher in human form than in dwarf form. Human Shields plus the bonuses from Blasters and Scrappers seem to do that... and of course the immensely higher damage output...
Problem is that we cannot compensate our lost Res with other powers while we're in dwarf form.
That and no use of temp powers make me spend a lot less time in dwarf than before I6...
The only plus it has for me now ist mez-protection without having to use Light Form.
To put it in a nutshell:
After I6 we are even less a competitor for the tank job than before... and lost a lot of fun being in Dwarf... at least for me... -
All my attacks are 1acc/3dam/1rech/1end so I desperately needed to take stamina.
My Conserve Energy mostly goes into Dwarf Form, as I no longer have Endurance Recoveries in the forms themselves.
That and of course together with Quantum Flight for fast travel... -
Komisch... was kam denn raus dabei? Eine 11+?
-
Looks like a decent build to me.
One question:
Do EndRedx enhancements help Conserve Energy?
I thought not...
Apart from that I noticed that you don't slot EndRedx in your attacks and don't skill Stamina.
Do you really manage human form without having endurance problems?
Intriguing... -
Which way did you go?
Did you take Nova or are you trying human form exclusively?
Nova form made me do wonders in teams during the lower levels... at least until I got me a nice little Dwarf form at 20.
One of my favorite moments in the game:
We did the Clockwork TF, everyone Lvl 18 or 19.
All Clockies conned 20, no worries.
But then we got team-wiped 4 times by a Black Dwarf boss conning 23...
I expected the Team to kick me our, just for being a Kheldian and the cause for the misery, but they all took it personal and we defeated the Dwarf.
Now, my favorite moment was when I dinged 20 after defeating the Dwarf, went out to skill Dwarf form and switched to Dwarf when I went back to the team...
"Oh my god, not another one of those...!"
Ah, the good old days... -
What they need to change - at least in my opinion - is the price the SG has to pay for the least functional base - that is needed to work with salvage.
If my sources are correct that would be 910.000 prestige now.
(Standard plot, Energy, Control, first workbench plus according rooms)
This should definitely be lowered.
If (and this is a big IF!) the Devs don't want to change the overall prices for bigger and more functional bases they could then raise the prices for the more advanced equipment - e.g. the andvanced worktables...
This would make the start more easier - and enjoyable - for small groups., but would change nothing for larger super groups... -
My Kheldians seem to be the ones least hit by ED.
Don't get me wrong: I am not a fan of ED, it seriously crippled my Regen...
But as a dedicated 3-former I am always short on slots so I never planned on slotting more than 3 res in the human shields for example. Slotting 1 acc and 5 dam in your form attacks never worked for me as Stamina never carried over into the forms.
So now all my attacks are (how diverse!) 1 acc 3 dam 1 end 1 rec and I have 3 slots instead of 5 in Stamina and 3 slots instead of 1 in Conserve Energy...
ED did cripple my tanking abilities in Dwarf form to some extent and I'm not sure, if I can do by removing the slots from Dwarf itself to the Dwarf heal power... -
In fact, I feel very epic with my PB (46) and my WS (20)... In short: Epic yes, uber no.
I can understand when people skip the forms and go full human, but if you feel you lack something then perhaps you should try out the forms.
My mez-protect comes in a handy Dwarf package and helps me soloing and even made me finish the 2nd Respec (Freaks one) as the only Tank in the team.
This from a guy who completed the game with a Regen Scrapper nonetheless.
Don't get me wrong, I more than once thought at least marginal mez-protection in the human shields would be nice, but in the meantime I always start missions with 4 breakfrees in my tray and if I engage a mez-heavy team solo there's always Light Form.
There ain't many mobs, I can't finish in 3 Minutes... -
Fire?
Think Nemesis and you'll find lots of it...
They are the reason why I skilled Thermal before Quantum Shield. You already have - albeit marginal - energy/negative protection, but Nemesis flamethrowers can be hell... -
It would be too nice to be true... and so it isn't.
The Quantum Shield is one of the most grossly misnamed powers in game. It protects solely from energy and dark energy. So it reduces the damage of the quantum gun, but only the energy (or was it negative energy?) part that's already neglectible but not from the special insanely high damage that only effects us Kheldians... -
Forgot to say something concerning the human shields:
I use (plan to use) 3 Res in Shining, 2 in Thermal and only one in Quantum. I am 3form so I have to skimp slots wherever I can.
Shining is maxed out - kinda - with 3 Res, so that's a no-brainer. Fire and cold attacks are less common and seem to do less damage than their lethal/smashing counterparts so 2 Res works for me. Same goes for Quantum and energy damage, but Incandescence with 1 Res makes up exactly for one slot in Quantum-Shield.
Slotted like this I reach Res-Cap (Lethal/Damage a bit over 85%, NRG/Neg/Fire/Cold a bit below, no Tox/Psi) with Light-Form (unslotted regarding Resistance).
This is a lot better than my Dwarf can do (apart from Toxic of course). -
2 acc seems to be a bit uber to me, if you don't constantly engage reds and purples.
With 1 acc I normally have no problems hitting minions up to yellow (not sure about the hard facts here), for lts and bosses I use Build Up and then there's our innate Def Debuff in almost all of our attacks which helps quite a bit I think.
Nova uses 1 acc buff in itself and 1 acc in the area attacks but only damage in the single ones. Lets me drop the defense of an entire spawn with 2 areas a bit and then finish of with singles and recharged areas.
Before I6/ED I even used only the single acc buff in Nova and no acc enhancers at all and felt I did quite well. -
Would be helpful to know not the number of slots in your powers but the slotting too.
4th slot in a shield might be useless as a DamRes but very useful as EndRed.
6-slotting Attacks you really use in your attack chain is never a waste, I mostly go for 1Acc/3Dam/1End/1Rec in almost all my - useful - attacks, even in my forms and do quite well. -

Photons are more useless now. Their sucky AI was offset slightly by the very high damage but now even that has been lowered due to ED. They need to fix the AI so you do actually get full damage out of them (rather than 2/3 as one ALWAYS wanders off somewhere and doesn't attack) and maybe raise the damage of each one to make up for the reduced damage output now.

I play a 3form PB and focus on melee in human form. I would not want to live without my beloved "village idiots". I think of them as another - devastating - melee attack and they rarely miss with my current 1acc/3dam/1end/1rec slotting.

As for build up - I'm contemplating slotting damage buffs to make it easier to hit the cap when using Dawn Strike now? Anyone know if that is worth doing?

No damage buffs in this game, sir... -

A form-drop animation would have some downside to it:
Ainamtion-time.
Happens from time to time that I face a Void in Dwarf and want to switch to human and use Quantum-Flight via my panic-button...
Animation into human might give the void the second shot needed to kill me... -
Nun auch mal meinen Senf dazu als (noch) CoV-Verweigerer:
Für mich ist CoV ein Add-On:
Neue Territorien.
Neue Charakterklassen.
Neue Spielmodi.
Neue Grafiken.
(unbedingt mal genauer checken heute...)
