I dunno, a good player wouldn't care regardless. Should of told him, "Roll a tank." Sounds like someone with just a little high dose of self importance.

If it's for Apex or Tin, maybe they're just not making it clear. Being removed from the team for lacking Alphas in those two TFs is for your safety, unless if you're purely support; you're an empty spot. But otherwise, this shouldn't be happening in anything else since those are the only two that actually really require your alpha to be filled.
The green mitos. Very low health but heal each other and themselves to full in a split second. They sure do go down faster with holds but it's really not that bad, a 3 slotted accuracy hold and fast enough recharge gets the problem out of the way. It just takes a bit. And that's always been like that with this TF, Alphas are just a bonus; you don't need them. -
Quote:I really don't know where the people are coming from with the whole asterisks not being good for emoting thing.
Eh different strokes for different folks. I couldn't care less since that's originally what I started with but right now I use /e and write the stuff out because that way it's easier to discern chit-chat from actions. But that doesn't mean someone who uses the above method is a bad roleplayer by any means.
I think it comes down to pet peeves of those who are truly literate. They want to RP in the form of a story where asterisks aren't used. So when they observe the astericks in the back of their mind they think the defendant is "new". -
Quote:Yup, pretty much what I do. Find a general hub (Pocket D or wherever) and get a feel for the medium consisting of a large selection of different RP styles and concepts. Get interested in introducing yourself and interacting with other players, this way you can sort of experiment.
That, or just meet people up. Make friends for your characters, and you'll eventually find a group of people that go well with your ideals and likes and dislikes!
Depending on your concept though, handle it with care. If you're a secrete agent, don't blabber about it in a public area unless if you goto lengths of making it seem like a private conversation. Otherwise, if you're surrounded by ten to fifteen and on, expect someone to poke fun for the obvious, "I overheard you...".
More people are accepting than not. You have your anal retentive lot sure, just watch out for the tags. More often than not MRP doesn't equate to ERP (Erotic Roleplay), it just means they take their character seriously from a "realistic" standpoint and prefer using proper literacy when it comes to RPing; also with adult oriented overtones, talk of sex, or verbal language. MRP is synonyms with Rated-R films basically.
ERP on the other hand, they just wanna get their rocks off. And if it's a chick who only hits on other chicks... it's a trap. If it's a chick with male parts... obviously a trap (which is a futa).
But once you get a feel for the general populace, before you know it you'll be making friends and sooner or later an opportunity will arrive. So just be patient. If push comes to shove you can also ask here on the forums, if you find a like-minded individual, to meet in game and RP. Many are probably willing to do that. -
I suppose my toon Enerjack (KM/EA Brute) would be the best fitting for this type of thing. No other toon I have would care for ze interwebz.

Just got together with my grandpa, his girlfriend, and her family. Played Donkey Kong for the Wii which was fun but a pain.

Slides down the stairs in a sled and all wrapped up in Christmas cloth, a scarf that completely covers his face to where only his eyes are exposed. Bundled up like a blump chibi-ninja he hollers with delight while moving rapidly through slopes that wined throughout the Rookery.

I myself aim for what is largely flexible and work with an idea which stems from inspiration from other materials. Often times mysticism works for me because you can have just about anything mesh well, from robots to mutants; and then work with a concept.
-
If I had the Alpha for my Widow I'd be down. Sadly I got work in two hours and that's quite a grind for me to pull off or a mad streak of luck.

Enters in his usual red getup with the addition of redmits, a white scarf, and earmuffs; the collar of his jackek is buttoned up to protect his mouth and nose from the bitter cold. "Tis the season Fey, tis the season." His voice muffled from the cloth of his jacket, but you can hear the sly smile in his softened voice.

It's the Jedi mind trick, nuff said.
Only ones it doesn't work on are folks like Mako who are immune to Placate or your Illusionists and Master of the Carnival who under phase can't be affected.
But that being said, if you need a strategic method to killing your enemies especially on a 1v2 confrontation; Placate is your best friend. Only powers Placate is iffy on are Tier 9 primaries that do PBAoEs as sometimes the critical wont score. It's initially your Goto Hide Free-Card and loses agro. The Feign Death of City of Heroes basically. -
Gleams, "Can I cut objects from a distance?! Oh boy - oh boy - oh boy!"

So, today is the Winter Solstice, and this morning, a full moon underwent a total lunar eclipse, best seen from North America. The a full moon became a total eclipse on the Winter Solstice was 1638... once in several lifetimes thing. -
Eh they're lesser specialized powers. Just like vet rewards which don't crit either under any circumstances (from what I've seen) that's because they're just an off set baring no weight on the character's real specialty.

The games aren't that fun, an MMO of it sure as hell wouldn't be.
Besides, I'm more for Otherland or .hack personally. I want to feel like I'm the character and have complete control! Minus the pain receptors and of course the occasional sound of a water drop hitting a pond.... -
Camera focuses to him as he stands there in a yellow rain coat out on a sidewalk, "IT'S GONNA RAIN!" He shouts as wind hurls trees around and rain droplets the size of baseballs sock the ground.

Quote:First log in Friday I saw LFG tags: lvl 50 somthing Incarnate LFG for Candy Farms. But since most level 50s are incarnates, it's barely anything acknowledgable.
Totally kills the notoriety, just saying.
On a completely different note:
Kind of a bummer profiles no longer list Alphas and went back to IOs. IO set list should go into a new tab. :P -
Out of curiousity what is everybody's desired IO set for this power? I went with Crushing Impact first (6/6) and now to Mako's Bite (6/6) following a respec which I gave Crushing to Disembowl. So what about the rest of you?

Enters in tugging at his tight collar. "I feel naked like this." Feverishly shivers uncontrollably, "Not to mention humiliated... this is very uncomfortable. My kids' kids are crying." Shuffles quickly into the closet to put on a long trench coat that resembles Neo's. "Ahhh that's better." He mutters and slips on a pair of shades.

Ninjitsu by itself is an ideal stalker secondary. Essentially any primary can work with it pretty much.

Eh, every time I think of a question I lose it when I goto think of posting. That being said, I don't even like twitter to begin with. The whole anonymous-status is like a treat for trolls though but I suppose that varies from person to person on how they deal with them. I myself pay little attention to them but if the content that is consistent from day to day tends to be troll-like, I lose interest in keeping it going.
However, best of luck to you and anybody else who attempts or currently has an account for this sort of thing. Like Hollow said, it's a good way to keep active and getting yourself out there. -
Mmmm could really go for some waffles right now.

I don't have the badge but I don't know any friends who belong to large SGs that can run it.
