I got called Chicken Legs by a Brute last week. My SR Scrapper just ran about only fighting 1 on 1 until more villains joined the fight (I was outnumbered 4 to 1). I also only went after MM, Corruptors and Stalkers because I know I can beat them. I tried fighting a Brute once, it lasted until he managed to hit me with full Fury.

I think I might have to start playing my Fire/Thermal Corruptor again
Level 16 so far.

Defiant have one planned for the 6th of Feb. Lots of time is definatly required to let as many people as possible know when the Raid takes place. They can then level up their characters and make sure they are available to attend.
I think once a certain amount of people attend, all the people put off by previous raids attend too because they think its possible to defeat Hamidon. Numbers ftw! -

might have to be careful with the use of speed boost before we reach the bottom however, as we don't want to be falling off the ledges into hostile territory!
[/ QUOTE ]
I only use speed boost on people that hover when descending, walk ways are difficult to navigate as they are lol. We should aim to get to the bottom in less than 30 minutes. -
I'm Kin/Elec btw.
I don't think I've tried it under ED. I think we have a good chance though. 2 Kinetic Defenders and a Tank to protect the team when the Rikti Spawn in. So long as the forcefield generators are taken down at the same time and people open fire with the right weapons, it will be easy.
Seeing as how 50's can't get weapons, three people will probably have 2 (one of each). -
I'll come along if you need me. I've done the Trial a few times before. Jumping straight to the bottom after getting weapons is the easiest way of doing things. This Trial is probably the most difficult in the game because it requires the team to work together in more ways than one.
I can get a hold of Teamspeak.
Stryker - Level 50 Kinetic Defender -
The Leadership pool is more effective on a Defender than a Controller and as we all know Stalkers are a pain if you don't have Tactics. Defenders need to team to get anywhere in PvP.

I was just wondering how many people have a character on Union with the Sonic powersets?
Before my computer went out the window (not literally) I created a Sonic/Sonic Defender because I never saw one over level 10. I plan on levelling him up when I get my new computer (any day now).
His back story is something like - Lead Singer in a Rock band (Mutant Origin) looking for another member of the same Rock band (best mate), who had been kidnapped. -
Would be cool if there was a secret way of nerfing Hamidon that no one knows about. Union is then the first server to uncover it

wow....another REAL hami raid....with another REAL hami at the end of it. I can't wait!!!
Love these REAL ones....they are always so successful compared to the none REAL ones!
[/ QUOTE ]
This post is not about a Hami Raid. I am not planning a Raid at this point, since I will not be avilable during January or February to run it. I am merely throwing an idea out there as an alternative to using a plan which is not working for us anymore. This post is about Hamidon raid strategies.
I also don't understand this reference to a 'REAL' raid. What is that supposed to be? There are no fake Hamidons in the game, so how could any Hamidon raid not be real? Please explain.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm curious as well...
[/ QUOTE ]
I think this is referring to the failed attempt at gaining support for an attack on Hamidon. bobthedemon suggested that after the mass brawl in Siren's Call last month there should be an attack on Hamidon and was blasted because the 'Real' Hamidon Raid was a week later. Much flaming ensued and people are still taking pot shots. Bridger you were on Holiday I think. -
Halo 2 has a good rep system, but I can't see how it can be implemented into CoH. (Your rep is based on where you came in the rankings after a certain amount of time.) They would need to create a system where everyone in Siren's Call was on a score board and every team was ranked on number of kills then after each hotspot battle, PvP ranking would change. Halo 2 has different ones for Solo, team and team modes.

If i'm online and you need someone, send a tell. I don't mind doing this twice over 3 days. (I offered to help on the other one too)

Send me a tell if you need more people. I should be online after 6:30ish on Friday and tonight.

I'd like to see a Hero team take on a Villain team in the Arena. Maybe one of each AT (5 a side, no peacebringers/warshades). I'd also like to try 8 a side or more if its possible as well though.

Once they bring in the 10% rule, Stalkers are going to find it hard to kill pretty much everyone. They will need a second attack power that can remove the last 10% of health, be quick enough to hide/placate and AS again or wait till their target is below 100% health and stood still.
I can see Stalkers approach even if I can't target them and knowing they will not kill me in one shot I'm going to have a heal ready either transfusion or a Insp. They will need to be quick with the second shot or have enough moves (I only ever see their AS) to take me out. Even then my team will come to my aid (I'm very rarely without one).
Not sure if it will affect some Stalkers but definatly the ones that are currently one hit wonders and then dissappear are going to be affected.
If its too hard to remove the last 10% it could be better to reduce to 5%. Will need testing and a discussion. -
I'll be making a Crater out of erm.. Crater

I still have the fitness pool on my defender. Only really comes into play if I'm in a large battle and I don't need to chase enemies for end then. Its possible to do it, but I prefer my leadership toggles to stay up (Tactics and Maneouvers). I also have Hasten to speed up Transferance and Transfusion in hectic moments. I don't use Transferance to recover my own end much. Its usually on team mates to get their end back, or on an enemy to disable them.
Inertial Reduction is better than fly if you want mobility, I can chase down pretty much anything.
Short Circuit can reduce the end of NPCs to about 5% if they are the same level. It also stops end recovery so its very useful.
Ball Lightning is very useful after using Fulcrum shift on a crowd of enemies. Seeing all those numbers is great.
Increase Density is good in PvP as you can stop people teleporting your team. It also stops knockback and frees people from Holds, among a few other things.
I also have Tesla Cage because its useful for taking an enemy out of a fight and lets you have someone close by thats not going to kill you. (Transferance and Transfusion target). -
As a Kin/Elec Defender I usually jump around using Inertial Reduction, but having the Jet Packs has probably helped me in PvP. I usually use Inertial Reduction to get anywhere quickly and Fly to stay out of the way. ( I turn on Fly when I'm at the high point of the jump). Siphon Speed a flying enemy and then shoot them down. I like flying around, turning on Inertial Reduction mid air and then dropping to the ground
I doubt I'd respec two of my other powers out just so I could get Hover and Fly though. -
The travel power you use in PvP depends on your AT and style of play. If you want to chase people I suggest Super Jump. For getting away, probably Teleport or Super Jump. Squishy ATs find Fly to be useful as they can stay above the Melee Range Fighters. It can also be effective in getting away from SJ as you just hold down jump and you go out of reach.

I remember fighting you, was good fun and I hope to see you on Wednesday

Had to use a full tray of inspirations and was about two seconds away from death when finally managed to make it back to the villain base.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I had loads of fun chasing people, its just when they get back to base and stay there. I think a drone got me in the end.
[ QUOTE ]
I don't mind people running off, but It ticks me off when they head to the safe zones and drone hug. Why bother coming into PvP if thats all your going to do?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've started seeing Villains hugging Hero Drones. This just seems silly. Villains committing suicide just so the Hero doesn't have a chance to kill them. -
[ QUOTE ]
well stryker , those 10k goggles can buy you tons of insp in the first place.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but they take up space and you have to leave the zone to get some more.
[ QUOTE ]
secound , the fun comes from fighting .if youre end drain = you cant use youre powers = you cant have fun . thats why i eat some "blue pills" when we fight .
[/ QUOTE ]
My end drain is my style of fighting. No fun for you, but I love it when someone runs out of End.
[ QUOTE ]
as for the runing theres no point imo continuing a 1\1 fight when 4 others jump on you . guess aint much fun for neither of the players that were 1\1 .
many times i just stay there and watch a ongoing 1\1 . i could just join and kill with a AS the hero but i would be ruining those 2 players game fun ( something for some people to think about) .
[/ QUOTE ]
Shame not all STalkers are like you lol. I was having a discussion online last night with a Corruptor because Stalkers kept stealing his kills.
[ QUOTE ]
ganking is never much fun for either side , but i admit some people or classes just cant kill without ganking .
always remember to try to make pvp fun for both sides , if people get ganked\killed\bored all the time theyll give up pvp and youre left with a empty zone.
so try respect everybodys fun\play and try play fair to ( at least thats what i try ) .
[/ QUOTE ]
Some ATs need a team to take them down. Tanks, Brutes and some StalkersThere was even a MM last night who gave myself and 2 scrappers a run for our money last night. (They were new at PvP though.) Never happened twice though

Aren't inspirations 50 influence/infamy each? I don't think anyone will be going bankrupt very fast...
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats true, I can't see it happening some how lol. They need to put a Insp dispenser in Siren's Call. So I don't have to leave and lose all the bounty I collect. -
I don't mind people running away, sometimes the chase can be interesting weaving in and out of buildings and avoiding NPCs. To be fair I've started using Insp just so I can kill them faster. I'm probably just being daft.
I'm only a Defender so I'm not good in 1 on 1, altho I do have my moments.
I think its just against bad builds though.
I'll be in Siren's Call tonight if you want a fight.
