First you have to seperate the thematic reasons, then look at code reasons. Footstomp doesn't makes it past the thematic step. You can't footstomp or slam your hands into the ground if you can't reach it.
Now if they changed the name and animation, well that would be different. But I don't see that happening. -
The complaint is not getting free powers. The complaint is that this game has developed the physics law "every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Also stated previously as "unforeseen consequences" that may occur.
I think we are all hoping for the best, but we really won't know until several months after the change is made.
Let's keep our fingers crossed. -
I suggest making everything that holds your interest. A little alt-idous is a good thing for a new player. Try to play them until at least level 20 and then decide which one holds your interest for the long haul to 50.

My guess at this point is that the cost to create this pack was so minimal, that even if it is a bad seller it will still turn a profit. People will not quit over this issue of a bad pack they can choose not to buy. So in turn it may be a good business decision. I will say a lot of people are dissapointed obviously by the threads, but maybe that is a price they are willing to pay and try to wow us on the next one.
Trying to stay positive ... -
Awesome. I love when people start thinking a power or situation through on the larger scale.
I think some people might have missed my point that this change could have unforeseen consequences, that is ok.
No troll, no foul.
Just things to ponder. -
I thought the change was a great idea at first. After a more thorough review, I now have to say I think this change is bad, very bad. Yes, you get more choices, but sometimes too many choices is bad. I am affraid we will now see everyone with leadership and fighting pools and possibly other select pools that just could not be squeazed into the build before. That forced a more concentrated effort to really decide what you wanted a toon to focus on. If you have everyting, then the focus is lost to some degree.
I hate to mention other games in the forum (specially if it is not a direct relationship), but Champions had a very bad problem because of too many choices. Toons became so independant that people were reluctant to team up with pugs. And cetain combantions of powers were far more tougher than others by far. I know that will not happen to that degree here, but it was an unforeseen outcome. What will we do with the unforeseen outcome here?... Start nerfing to re-balance? Just something to think about.
Also, if the benefit is just for lowbies, how long to you stay below level 20 anyways? A day, couple days, or even hours? -
One thing keeps appearing in my mind....
Sneak up on squishy that is typing and not paying attention, pop reds, que AS, rage crash, AS for 2 points damage.
How embarrassing. -
Actually I think there is a place for melee for a dom. I like to hold a boss then run up and hit him in the face. I do like to do this more as a finishing move rather than try to stand toe to toe, but doms have a lot of mitigation to allow for this.
I will say that one of the funniest things I see is a lowbie fire/fire blaster run melee style waving his fire sword around and get spanked by the first boss in his path. Melee is more situational for a blaster, however you do find an enemy in your face from time to time and it is nice to have a very powerful melee attack to dish out.
Your point is made and brings a smile to my face. -
My personal favorite is the elec/shield brute. Very fun and very good AOE damage.

Only if it comes with emotes that I can buy seperately for $8.

I am assuming that the OP was talking about stealthing or something. Any AT can stealth through missions with stealth + SS being the most widely used combo. And since any AT can pick this up, then I do not see the point of the thread.
Talking pure content, definately something hero side. :P -
I have a 50 mind/thorn that I just don't play. I don't like it like I thought that I would. I had a concept that kept me raising it to 50 but just seemed to fall short in the end.
Main point of disinterest for me is switching from mind powers to thorns and having to pull out the spines each time. Man is that annoying.
The damage is ok, but not as much as I would like either.
I have a mind/psi and I like that toon way more.
So I am picking which one to log in, 100% of the time it is the mind/psi not the mind/thorn. -
This is an easy one for me. I think the easiest to solo and cheap is my fire/dark corr. Fire is good hands down, but the survivability is in the secondary 'dark'.
You get +def, stealth, mag 3 hold, amazing wide cone fear, tar patch is great slow and debuff, and aurguably the best heal in the game. And a pet that holds/heals.
I solo very well and at 50 with sets, you will amaze yourself solo or on a team.
I set papers at +2/x4 or +1/x6 most of the time for the challenge factor and usually survive just fine.
The key is the fear. Put the tar patch between you and the mob, make most of the mob tremble with fear, hold the boss, fireball the mob, throw out a heal, ... you get the idea. -
This fitness change will nearly every toon I have. Have any announcements been made to confirm that any new slots will (or will not)be made available?

This is a good vet reward. Vet rewards should be a small token so it does not create any unbalance or unreast among the newer players. I am close to the 75 month mark, and I do not need the prestige. But I will gladly accept the reward for what it is... a token of appreciation for staying loyal to the game.
