  1. At this point I would like to note that if the level shifts are supposed to be more pronounced and actually affect the whole league whenever the lights are out, if they fix that, this trial is going to become significantly easier than it is right now.

From that point of view, it could be argued that the current form of the trial is too hard or at least much harder than intended.

Add on a another Crushing Blow + Whirling Smash if I used Build Momentum.

Consistently superior damage with Double Hit.
The cycle times definitely are keeping the proc rate high (pretty much 100% across the board as Hopeling noted) and the high base recharge powers keep the bonus damage of double-hit high. That said, if you could maintain the stacks of Core, it should still be better (maybe, I haven't really checked how awesome double-hit gets at the 16 second and 20 second recharges).

This leads me to believe maintaining stacks of Core could be an issue, although it may be particular to TW or even to your specific chain.
    Cool info, thanks.

That wasn't an ad-hominem, there was no intent for it to reflect on your argument, simply on you. It was an honest question borne from two similar experiences designed to make you consider your behavior. You are free to ignore me of course, but I will recount the 2nd experience I just had today.

I was on a league earlier that failed. The leader did a decent job, and I think their one lack was not calling for an organized Lore drop. I get the impression that they had failed one or two runs before I joined, so frustration was in evidence, but not too bad. Most were doing ok, happy to be getting iXP, but one of the members was more bitter. Throughout the final fight they kept going on about how hopeless and impossible it was. It was really annoying and several people suggested that less complaining and more fighting was in order (they were not all necessarily as diplomatic as I just phrased it, but there was also nothing terribly insulting said).

Once the trial failed I picked up the star. We lost some people because they couldn't stand being on a team with someone who complained so much and was a general downer. As we went through the next trial, said complainer continued complaining as well as reciting the hopelessness of it all (we were a 15 person league, and they were pretty convinced a small league like that couldn't succeed). I simply told them that I understood it could be frustrating, but please try to just focus on the mission and that I felt we had a solid league that would pull through.

The trial was a success and they still complained at the end anyway. After they left, several people commented on his odd attitude and how it was not fun to be around such a downer. Do with the story what you will.

It could be even worse considering that pets are possibly also targets (for MMs sake I hope pets are valid targets). If it pulses multiple times while the lights are down, that could also explain why I sometimes have no extra level shifts, then all of a sudden I have some.

I didn't start playing until Issue 2, so I don't have any nostalgia for what is a myth anyway.

What I might want is for blasters to be a game break AT like controllers are NOW. Who cares about what the game was in Issue 1?
  6. Yeah, I just learned this. Crafted the tier 4 Core... on my blaster. Sigh, I would have gone radial if I knew it was only 6% for the people that matter to me, player's characters, not their pets. A purple down the drain. It hurts, it hurts. Oh well, I'll just have to be sure to team with lots of MMs, controllers, and dominators I guess.

If the numbers inside are going to say 12%, then the description should not say it is doubled for pets but rather halved for players.

Is it all because of the Incarnate System? No. Is it a factor? Yes.
Is it because they wanted to go to to a server than ran more of them? Is it because they wanted to go to a server where they didn't have to listen to someone constantly complain?
  9. More observations. Lights of the well out for about 7 seconds, my level shift is only at +3. A second later +7, then a few more seconds, +9. Several seconds later back to +3 and about 10 seconds until the lights spawn.

I thought it odd to see it climb for no apparent reason (although I am glad it did, just thought it was odd).

I think it is fine to continue to give feedback and opinions even if it is live. I love Hybrid, although I am concerned about Melee, Control, and Support Radial. I'll be keeping an eye on them and providing my opinions over the next month or two.

I would say around the time SOs come into play is where the disparity really starts to ramp up, although even the late teens may start showing a discrepancy for most players.

On my original Fire/Fire blaster when my musculature is slotted my attacks have 125% damage and I have a constant +27% global damage buff. Add in new defiance for another 20-30%. I use to slot 1 Acc, 5 Dam. My Acc now is through the roof thanks to sets and a Kismet. I have more end reduction slotted than I ever did in the past. I have tons more recharge (I never had Hasten, but now I have 37.5% global rech plus tons of recharge per power from sets). My recovery is higher than six slotted stamina gave me as well.

All my characters are better off with inventions than pre-I6.

I do not think this will ever be a long-term problem. There will be times right after new content is released where this is a concern, but 2 to 4 weeks after that new content is out, a regular rotation that includes earlier trials will always prevail.

Our alt-heavy nature, the merit stores, and the fact that even with the new incarnate tiers we don't out-level them, virtually ensures that even veteran trialers will have a steady interest in the early raids as well as new ones.

I believe you got threads. I believe you were in the hospital when the trial ended. I do not believe the two are related as I have been in the hospital when the trial ended and got a rare. I will admit my one counter-example does not prove that being in the hospital when the trial ends may cause a problem, but it suggests your conclusion may not be accurate.

Something's odd about this level shift mechanism, I think maybe.)
Black Swan is draining our power by design. It may be too much sometimes, not sure the full intent. I have had Fire Shield on my blaster grayed out and unusable during the Black Swan fight (just one time, but I was tripping when I saw it).

It is not working. The character in that screenie does not have level shifts from the lights being out, you can tell because the Olympian guards are red instead of gray. There is some kind of issue with the lights that needs to be fixed. Only being buffed sometimes when the league puts in the effort to play as designed is an unfortunate problem. Bug it.

When it does work, and it does work sometimes, it does show up in the level shift area. I have had it read 9 and the OGs are gray.

Because the devs obviously aren't.
The tanker problem with double-hit was first noticed on beta the day it was released. There was at least one other player of a tanker besides you who was checking it out (and you were making helpful reports on the problem as well). It's not game-breaking and the fix just didn't make it in time for release (I haven't tested this on live personally, but I take your word that it is true).
  18. Indeed. I couldn't figure out the level shift thing at all. Heck, sometimes I used the quills on a light and failed to get a level shift. Other times I was cranked to 9. Also, the shifts do not last until the lights are back up (which may be intended). I wonder if there is a target cap. Maybe the buff radiates off Tyrant (I was testing on a character who was at range a lot, but this is just a thought and may be totally off base)?

I think the important take way here is that once Arcanaville posts her picture, can we please get these options into the Options menu rather than from a stupid NPC located in one zone? Please? And put the difficulty sliders in the Options menus too, while you are there.

This is why moving around is important even for tanks. I like to use the term wiggle. Wiggling around in a spawn is a great way to help convince enemies to move towards you as well as helps ensure you tag more enemies with damage and taunt effects.

There are a whopping 9 threads in the Announcements section. Sure it wasn't stickied and sure it was the last thread. But there are only NINE. Also, it is in the Discussion section and it is the 4th thread on the page and has been since May 13th. In other words, you just missed it.

For non-Fiery tankers the Radial should be much better (once they fix it so that tanker single target attacks are not treated as AoEs, gauntlet rears its head again ).

SS/Fire farming, likely also involves using reds, so +dam is not very useful to someone at or near the cap; double-hit for the win (if you want more damage).
