  1. Wonder what kind of frilly swimsuit they'll give female characters to go along with this.

You do realize they also drop in game, yes?

And that not all the sets are "zomgbillionz" priced? (Or, frankly, that they're even worth it?)

And that you can get them through other means? (Like running trials constantly, and I *believe* alignment merits?)
  3. Next, marketing goes out, finds all the 3-5 year olds they can, and tells them there's no Santa Claus.

Personally, I have a villain who loved SSA4. Just to also affect manticore.

That's like saying an apple has nothing to do with an apple tree. We don't need Praetorians scattered all over the place.

And yes, I consider it screwing up the zone. Locking it to 50 instead of putting content in to actually explore the zone and its lore. *Far* better ways of updating the zone and introducing actual *content* have been suggested for years now.

No, I mean screwing up an old zone that's otherwise interesting and just needs story arcs and such in order to make it part of the incarnate system, and I highly doubt they'd be able to resist adding a bunch of praetorian nonsense to it.

    - Brand new shiny base editor that can do all the great things we've wanted for years replaces the old system.
    - Once the new system is live, no new bases can be created with the legacy system.
    - Keep the legacy bases, with the ability to modify them using the legacy tools - and the understanding that no new features will be added to the legacy base editor (bug fixes will still be done).
    - Allow base editors who have built bases under the legacy system to delete those bases and replace them with bases designed with the new system. Once the legacy base is deleted, though, there is no going back to it. (as mentioned above we would need a way to easily and reliably transport stored items from legacy base to new base)

What's interesting to me is that now that I have typed all that up and read it back, I realize that given that system, I am almost certain that I would voluntarily tear down my old base and rebuild it.

I know that not everyone will feel this way, but I'm interested to hear if anyone would be opposed to a solution like this, keeping in mind that without a new base editor we are unlikely to see any significant improvements at all.
It (slightly) sounds like the issues with costumes - people have old parts/old bugged parts still on their character. They can still use it, usually, but can't ever edit that costume.

I'm not sure they'd keep "Editor 1.0" and "Editor 2.0" around for those who don't want to rebuild. Especially if they add some new features/items for use in bases (heh... yeah, sure.)

The storage transportation is probably the biggest hurdle - but don't forget other items are created and (to me, at least) can be irritating to have to re-create (and dig up the appropriate salvage, etc.)

    Edit:

  7. Given what they did to DA and what they're doing to DA, I almost don't WANT them to "incarnate-ize" the Shard.

Still, we have other Ruularu-based mobs and a whole other story hook with Darrin Wade. And people have wanted stuff in the Shard (beyond and better than what's there) for quite some time now.

Fixed. The AT is not the problem.

(Edit: I know how that sounds - it's not meant to be a slam on players who found they couldn't complete that solo. But if I can solo it on an SO'd emp defender, decidedly not a damage powerhouse, it's soloable. Inspiration use and paying attention to what's going on are all that's required.)

Somewhat faulty premise, as right now the trials are the ONLY way to get Incarnate components in anything other than geological time scales. I play them even though I don't really find them "fun."

They'd be great if they'd been brought out, *from the beginning,* with a mix of solo stuff so there was some variety.

    C) The trials are not 'light on story' either. The only way the trials could be considered light on story aspects and plot is if you consciously skip over all of Prometheus' dialogue, and all of the dialogue and scenes in the trials as well, and ignore the fact that they are part of a massive, interconnected story-line that spans all levels of the game (with the iTrials being the conclusion/endgame). Hell, the MoM trial has numerous sections in-between each phase where you can talk with various NPCs for information, with no rush or anything.
That's like saying "Doom" (decidedly story-light game) wasn't "light on story" because there were books and movies and such about it.

Not to mention the "interconnected story" is running amok over everything else.

Human, Bi, or Tri-form? Why?Whatever I want for the specific toon.

What is "wrong" with Peacebringers? The forms don't work together (don't bring any benefit to each other.) Slightly "fixed" now with Inner Light being longer than buildup and light form, though I miss the LF look. But there's nothing like the WS dwarf mire/human mire stacking.

    What's wrong with Warshades?

Powers unusable vs anything that disappears fast (event zombies, new shivans, ghosts, 5th column drones, rikti drones.)

What's wrong with the respective human forms?

No air-superiority in PB. No hover to pick with WS teleport.

How do they, if at all, compare to VEATsThey're actually fun, and have storylines worth playing.

The indicator in the code points to an old version of the piece which the costume editor won't "find" (they're no longer a part of the editor), so it will give the "hey, we can't find that item; you may not have access to it. Do you want to attempt a fix?" prompt in the load screen (like when you try to load a costume with a cape or aura on a character that doesn't have those unlocked) and would never let you load it up with "bad" pieces in the first place.
Side note - you can open up .costume files in notepad. Costume parts look like this:

    {
    Geometry Tight
    Texture1 Tights
    Texture2 !Chest_Assassin
    DisplayName P566009771
    RegionName "Upper Body"

This is old, old information. If he had talked about the newest "Who will die" arc, you might have a point. But this is like getting annoyed at someone wearing a T-shirt that says "Vader is luke's father!"

The alternative is to avoid any and all lore discussion on the forum AT ALL. Which would be ridiculous.

You are incorrect. They said those things would take too much work (IE, time/people from other things) to implement. At the time, they were correct.
  15. All, no. The final one, maybe.

Give them villain equivalents with villain content, yes. (As well as giving the heroside ones more, real and up to date, NON PRAETORIAN, NON INCARNATE content.)

Though the way the devs "revamp" lately, they'll probably destroy three of them with... I don't know... exploding Ruularu and stick a couple Praetorians in the one zone that's left, no matter how nonsensical it would be. And lock the zone to anyone who doesn't have a +1 or better level shift.

    P-38... eh.

The FW-190, now... or *looks to left at forum name* the ME-262 - though I've become more fond of the HE-162 from that era.

People insisting that a certain AT or powerset is obsolete. Who really gives a flying rat's rear? Play what you like. Don't sweat what other people play. If you want to get your undies in a wad over what some spreadsheet is "best" by some measurement, well, good for you. Pick what you like by that. Most people *don't care.* They'll play what sounds interesting. (Or they'll be so stuck in the holy trinity from other MMOs they'll be looking for something else entirely.)
  18. Frankly, I'd rather see them come back with reinforcements.

What's annoying when it comes to rescuing (or kidnapping) people is having them still be a "captive" because of caltrops or some other summon. (The most annoying one for me, recently, was fighting Carnies. I actually don't mind carnies in general, but this one had an MI and friends - rapidly defeated. Except for the Dark Servant. And the phantasm that, just as it FINALLY disappeared, summoned a decoy. Which meant more waiting.)

That's nothing - I don't remember which pack or issue it was (it's been a while,) but there was one that had chest details sticking out about a foot from the chest. So the "back" of the detail was stuck on the front of the chest... it was ver odd.

Come on, I already bought this but would be nice to know if we can expect any kind of fix in next patches.

    Pre-tint
Belt doesnt fit well for jackets
No strip versions of the buttcape belt and corset.
No bow options for buttcape belt.
No spurs option for high boots.
    Etc...
Set is nice but way too limiting. Also lacks some holsters and some chaps, hats and jackets for females.
Apparently these things are done way in advance and their schedule is too packed with issue 22 and 23 to have done anything. Which of course brings up the "Why bother letting us 'beta test' and give feedback," unless you really want to hear the "We value your feedback" platitude echoed once more and not really lived up to.

(You can't tell the repeated disappointments lately have been getting to me, can you?)
  20. I don't think that'll even touch ultra mode.

Best bet is to head up into the "Technical issues" forum - there's info there on cards that'll run, and people can give you far more detailed information on what to look for.

So how is it that the Rikti content lasted forever if it was contained to 1 update?
    /this.

The only thing I heard people complaining about "lasting forever" was the fairly common string of rikti invasions at that issue launch.

This incarnate/well/praetoria nonsense is bad enough in it taking this long. It's worse in that it's corrupting *other, perfectly fine* lore. "Oh, the COT and Mu had gods? It's the well." Bull.

Honestly, it's a good thing we have the Leviathan mastery patron powerset. Plenty to jump over the way things are going.

You know the pack that is called 'Gunslinger' and should add 'Gunslinger' parts to the game, for making such things as female gunslingers.
