You must not have recieved the newsletter, as it's Healing -> Blues -> Offensive -> Defensive -> Awakens/Breakfrees.

However, somebody must have contacted you since the last letter was published, as you appear to have organised your awakens and break frees correctly.
  3. Ahh, my laptop has a bug like this that crops up all the time. Usually when I alt-tab out to something else. Interestingly though, sometimes the texture that randomly appears is a part of my power tray, which I find odd as it's a bunch of textures rather than one.

All sorts of things can be replaced, like a roof:

A costume (which leaves a rather rainbow snakeskin feel, I felt):

Sometimes removing parts of the costume entirely:

I think that this one time, Imperial City's windowlight glowmaps may have been pasted onto the buildings of Paragon:

    the glow behind alert text:

and my personal favourite, the sky itself:

It was wonderful watching my power tray glide across the sky.

It's a bug that crops up often enough, but it's little enough of a nuisance that I don't really bother looking to fix it. It sorts itself out if I just change the character and world texture levels. A quick notch up and down and it's good as new.
  4. Dear Santa,

I've been a good boy this year, and despite difficulties cropping up, I've remained goodwilled and do my best to help people out. What I'd like for Christmas this year is power pool customisation, epic pool colourisation, more epic pools to fit new power themes, and power colouring in AE; which is more than it sounded in my head.

    Storm,
    Aged eighteen and eleven months.

However, for next year, this is beautiful:

We here at City of Heroes have what I consider the best on line community of any MMORPG out there. Our players have more heart. Our development team listens and responds. The general public should know about this.

This is a game of Heroes. Maybe it's time WE emulate the characters we play on line.

    Sincerely,

I will agree with you that this game didn't necessarily need a difficulty increase, and that this TF really isn't fun for some people. But people who want to play casually in the same style they have been for years have had issues seeing to their needs up until this point. Why can't people who enjoy this, as you put it, "challenge", have their challenging content to play with? Why can't the people who have been asking for a difficult endgame get content they've been asking for?

For those of us who don't want high-end challenging content, the ITF isn't getting any harder. The LGTF is exactly as it was before. The rest of this game isn't getting a difficulty increase. There are story arcs out there that could well be right down your street. As long as all future content isn't aimed at a higher difficulty, then what's the problem? Why does every addition have to cater to you personally?

On a lesser note, I'm doubting that sarcasm or splitting the playerbase into casual players and elitist "munchkins" is an effective way of getting people to take your opinions seriously; valid or otherwise.
  6. Thank you!

I've been dieing to see this, so a screenshot is very much appreciated. I've been told you can hear a sound sometimes when this happens, and I'm just as eager to witness that. Out of curiousity, where were you looking when it popped up? I could go camping for a bit.

My bots were dropping within seconds, and they normally don't dip into the yellow. I didn't look at their power numbers, but I'm fairly sure they weren't buffed, leaving me to [Brawl] my way through. Although in hindsight, I could have grabbed vet powers.
  9. As the title says; why not have an option, be it in AE and/or an official arc, to face off against a Paragon Protector that matches your body type and powersets? Crey are finding ways to clone heroes all the time, and this seems that it should be possible with the new doppelganger tech.

I'd further this on to suggest power colouring in AE, as Doppelgangers really do increase the need for it. But I do recall a dev saying it was being looked into. Whether or not that's still the case however, I have no idea.

Runners I can deal with. Running it on a mastermind with no personal attacks made it difficult enough I auto-completed it, though. If only it were a map-wide buff like the Syndicate Disguise, then my bots might have been able to survive.

    Good luck.
This is actually information that I've been looking for quite desperately. I've been trying to get one of my characters fixed for months now, and this should help out a ton. So thanks a lot!
  12. I ran this arc for the first time this morning, and I must say that I loved it. I ran it on a Praetorian, but I think I missed out on the fancy Praetorian dialogue by keeping it to myself at the beginning. It just wasn't the sort of thing the character would blurt out. Looking forward to running it on prouder Praetorian some time soon, though.

I got a little bit nerd-excited when I saw that people who had already done Jenni Adair's arc could call in assistance from SAM. I couldn't take it, but the option is a very, very neat game mechanic. I think the only thing I would have loved more as an option would be calling Provost Marchand and reporting in what I'd discovered.

Edited to add: Laughed like hell when Castillo remade his entrance. Funny stuff.

I've no idea if it's been fixed yet, but I think I remember there was a guy that did just this and roleplayed it as having a heart condition. Brilliant, in its own way.
  14. I think that the mission needs to be looked at again and the regen buff needs to somehow be made map-wide. Or perhaps a mega-huge PBAoE that goes through walls and stuff.

I don't think this tactic has been removed because it's cheating, exploitation, or the devs disagreeing with how people are completing it, but more because they've got the regen buff wrong the first time around. I don't particularly think removing the ability to pull him is the right way to go about it at this point, but I can see where the design decision is coming from. Ideally the regen LoS issue should be fixed, but if it were that easy I think the patch notes would say something else.

I think if they just wanted to make everyone play their way, they would have removed the tactic of knocking him into the lava while they were at it. But they haven't. Presumably because that method makes sense concerning his powers.
  15. I think it kinda makes sense that he doesn't follow you. If I had that kind of power, I wouldn't willingly follow my enemies away from my source of regen. However, I can see what some people are getting at about restricting some strategies.

I think an alternative I'd like to see is having his clones somehow come with him; follow him into the hall or something, so you'd have to keep him on the move to flatten his regen. If that's the kind of strategy you want to use.
  16. Not only was this an informative and useful read that made me want to work on my Demons/Thermal mastermind, but it was also wonderfully easy to read. Something about your layout and sparing use of colour made this an ease and a delight to waltz through. Nicely done!

This is where the EU servers actually have some foothold above the NA ones. I just waltzed in and nabbed a code an hour after it was posted.

here is the quote, in fact "Now players can customize the animation for some characters' powers. Shoot a Psychic Blast or even launch a Fire Breath from your character's hands. Hurl an attack from one or both hands. Select the animations and customize how a character fires off its powers at any Tailor."

    is that description inaccurate?
I don't think anyone's suggesting that we were lied to or that we haven't got what was advertised. Some of us are just a little disappointed. I think they're okay for changing the one-off power, but I expected more variety.

Not to call out on you personally, but I saw something relevent to quote.

Have the devs actually expressed a distaste for farmers? I've heard them expressing their strong views about exploiting bugs and getting involved in RMT, but I've never heard anything beside player assumptions that the devs are against people running genuine and WAI content repeatedly.

I wouldn't mind being proved wrong, but I just don't recall this ever actually being said.
  21. Issue Nineteen. Wreyy! I've actually managed to forget half of the additions, so I'll be scouring the patchnotes in a second.

I would say that the reasoning and fairness of the matter is down to perception, communication, and expectation. I think it's a pretty solid statement that we're getting half of the slot with i19, however.

(Yes that may have come off as ungratfull, but that's my opinion so screw it, but I am happy that i19 has gone live regardless so I hope I'll have time this Christmas Season to play it as much as I'd like.)
I'm glad to see you're happy nevertheless, but to be fair, this is the original release date. We were told that they were aiming for the sixteenth unless any big bugs came along, in which case they'd aim for after Thanksgiving. Some nasty bugs came up, and here we are on the week after Thanksgiving.

I can neither confirm or deny whether the exploit is still around personally, but there were reports that the exploit was indeed fixed on the open beta boards, and I think it's pretty standard for exploit fixes not to be reported in the patch notes.

  22. I understand it's becoming increasingly easy to earn inf these days, but I'm proud nevertheless. When can I expect my device to arrive that prevents the purpling of warshades?
