Since you are in your 40s, that is prime time to attempt a Dr Quaterfield TF. See if you can scrape up 7 ppl wanting to do that. Yes, it takes a long time but I have heard of 2 or 3 hour times on dr Q. Otherwise it takes 4-6 hours now to finish. But the tradeoff is the number of reward merits you get. You get alot. Enough for at least 5 rolls. Get the expore accolades and you get a few more rolls. Do the other shard TFs, more rolls. Then roll for recipes and chances are 1 could be a high priced one that can finance the rest of your build.
The other option would be to win a CC or 2

Any one familiar with this combo to give some build advice? I am familiar with mid's and have the influence to buy good sets. I do NOT slot purple sets or garbage pvp sets. I appreciate any help. This tank is only 12 right now so I have a ways to go before I start his IO set build.

i really hate it when i try to paste a build in the forums and it doesnt work right...

for a primarily solo tanker... I would suggest a shield defense/electric melee combo. I loved mine and it was pretty durable. Yes, i know with defense sets, it can be traitorous.. but that is only in your head. pop those purples! As soon as you get shield charge at 26, it gets massively easier. If you slot IO sets, slot for +def bonuses to melee and ranged/aoe if you can. trust me, this combo is insanely fun and robust if built right.

As an alternative though, choose inv/SS wp/SS ice/ss DA/SS ... get the picture. superstrength as your secondary.

I will make a traps/dp defender as an alt in case that is needed more than the tank. I really have no issue playing the tank. My experience suggests that 2 scrappers will get themselves in trouble to easily Just plan on the ice/em tank showing.

Nope, not another villain static team.

However I am inviting people who play villains or want to play villains and can't find teams to join me Tues and Thurs nights. I am wanting to work primarily on my brute heading into the time for Going Rogue. He is level 32 and mainly what I do is work my way through contacts and paper missions and mayhems as I get them.

The main catch for this teaming action is it won't start until 8pm Pacific Time. That would be 11pm for you folks on the east coast. So, there are of course less people playing when I get home from work and can finally launch this game. But anyone is welcome. Any level and AT is welcome with the notice that I absolutely refuse to powerlevel anyone's newbie toon. Participate in playing or you get kicked from team. The more the merrier is what I say. But with a team or not, I plan to play my brute on these nights. I do NOT hide my global so if you see me in BMT's player list, then I am on. If not, then I am dealing with RL stuff and will be delayed or not be on at all.

I had a chance back in the day to join the Pingu Coalition.. After playing a few times with ping and his fellow pingus, I ran away screaming. Definately a fun way to play. Grats on your anniversary.

Alright, now that I know I have a team spot, I can start seriously thinking about what I wanna bring to the team. I have a few idea but I wanna think about them first. Studying the current team makeup, a tank is lacking... I love playing tanks. Or I should say, I have the most fun playing tanks. If I make a tank, it will be Ice Armor. The Cold buffs should work well together with that set. But, I am not sure if I wanna play a tank on this team. 2 scrappers suggest plenty of melee and aggro grabbing if the rest of the team is balanced. Another idea I am thinking about is adding a 3rd scrapper to the team and build and play as a tank. The final idea I have is making a defender to help support the team. I am just not sure what I would wanna make. I will think about this more for a few more days then post here what I decide to do.

Background on me as a player: I play primarily on Champion with my alt server being Justice. I started playing in December 2004, so I am a grizzled vet player. With a few months downtime due to computer/internet issues, I just recieved my 63 month vet reward a few days ago. I play this game for the 'fun' factor and most of the time it is indeed very fun. I have numerous 50s on Champion of all ATs except stalker and the Epic ATs. My favorite AT to play is Tanker and I believe that the Brute is better than the scrapper AT. I am currently part of 2 villain static teams playing on Champion and a static team duo on Justice. None of which will conflict with Noir Justice. I beta tested City of Villains during open beta and plan to beta Going Rogue. I also remember the good ol' days pre-ED. The reason I chose to join this static team is primarily to meet new players. I am tired of the same old crowd on Champion... Goto the Champion forum and you will see what I mean. I have enjoyed meeting and playing with some of the great players on Justice. I hope to have the same experience with this team.

Well, I hope some of the championites can make it to Seattle over labor day weekend. Seattle is usually really nice in the summer time.

hmmm... maybe i should make a different thread about this, but i am too lazy.

What you can do in Seattle, even over a 3 day or 4 day visit. Of course, there is PAX, but who wants to hang out with 10s of thousands of unwashed gamers? The Mariners are on a homestand that weekend LOL go M's. I think the indians are in town. Safeco Field is an awesome place to see a baseball game no matter who is playing. Pike place market... see the guys slinging fish! The aquarium, snoqualmie falls. Mount Rainier. The 3rd worst traffic in the nation! Bumpershoot is also that weekend at seattle center. Just dont piss off a cop or you will get your head stomped on.

Anyways, i live about 45 minutes north of seattle and plan to attend the meet and greet. hope to see yall there.

I think the new market UI sucks as well. But that is mostly due to unfamiliarity. I am sure that I will get used to it in time. As far as the player who payed 1.5 billion for common salvage. LOLOLOLOLOLOLROTFLMFAO! No sympathy. Just pay attention to what you are doing.
