    Saturday MoLRSF

Hiya folks! Please welcome me in saying Happy Birthday to @Needle Fingers this Saturday by joining us for a Master of Lord Recluse Strike Force!

We will be running it at 5pm Eastern, and currently have 5 open spots. Also, Layla will be holding a costume contest shortly before we begin, and anyone may join, not just the interested task-forcers (Tangent: Task-forcers? Hm. I don't think that's a word. Maybe Task-Forcees? No, that sounds bad too. Oh well.). The prize will be a special Rularuu doll made my Layla, example seen here.

The theme of the costume contest will be: Scary. To quote Layla, "something that makes me say EEKK!" Yes, I chuckled at that too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away!

    Team Roster for MoLRSF:
    1. Me--Mind/Fire Dom
    2. Needle Fingers--Crab Spider
    3. Layla--Fire/Thermal Corr
    4. Zaloopa--Elec/Dark Brute
    5. Tenjoy--MA/SR Scrapper
    6. Globetrotter--Dark/Elec Fender
    7. Eric--Fire/Traps Corr
    8. Syanth--Dark/Dark Scrapper
  2. So basically, you're invulnerable to a certain type of damage as long as you make sure you attack enough to keep the bar empty? That'd make certain enemy types awfully easy...

It hasn't changed, though it's probably easy to make that mistake if you use the other while one is still active. If you do that, it will only extend the time and the previous one won't recharge until the new one is done.

    • An obstacle that is implemented for the sake of difficulty, but does not necessarily require much forethought nor strategy to overcome.

In my definition, the former would be pulling the Lichen-Infested Extinction War Walker to a corner to limit the number of Regeneration Lichens you have to manage. The latter would be the Avatar's Confounding Spores PBAoE.
It sounds like you and I draw the line at roughly the same spot.

Thank you though! It did used to work without the space, but I guess this is more "correct".

Someone slips me a roofie and in my delerium, I managed to fat-finger in @Hyperstrike11_11_11 which doesn't exist in the system.

Likely it just bounces in the mail system immediately and returns the item to me. Rather than just disappearing off into the aether.
This is your answer, Moth. Your emails are failing and auto-claiming because they are bouncing off of a nonexistent global name. In fact, you're lucky it doesn't exist, or that item would be gone.

You'd probably just have to see the movie--it's actually pretty decent.
  7. Our plant lovers may be interested to know that there now exists a pet just for them.

  8. Been a while since the last update, but here you are: The Plant!

Haha, I know what you mean.
  9. Sounds like I need to run the Graves arc.
  10. No, really though--whoever wrote that joke into the new Twinshot arc needs a high five and a cookie. Anyone else have anything they like about the new intro arcs (or new content)? I haven't done much of the new villain side yet, but it seems to be pretty neat as well.
  11. Well...it seems to me you're in the same boat any other character without psi protection is in, but you have tools the tools to mitigate that problem (unlike some other AT's). Slap them with the stun cannon before they slap you. Gravity well the troublemakers. Hoverblast in Nova. Use inspirations. Etc etc. Can even join a team if you can't do it on your own.

In other news--I've made a new channel for Kheldian Fridays. If anyone wants to join, please feel free. I will be using it (along with Protector Vigilance) to let our regulars know when it's time to start forming on fridays (or if we decide to do an impromptou kheldian themed activity) and for any random chat if you guys want to chat.

It's a public channel, so just join (I think the slash command is /chanjoin) Kheldian Fridays.

    Human Form PB

Your build looks pretty strong, though you may run into some endurance problems with some of your attacks, namely radiant strike and photon seekers (since it will recharge much faster now). Conserve energy will help with that, but it isn't perma. I'd also recommend taking out the scirocco proc in flare for the +recharge proc, but that's personal preference.

Edit: Looking over your build some more--you'll probably be ok end wise. You don't have any toggles, so the only issue will be long fights.

    My suggestion:

All mez right now that break through whatever mez protection you have will suppress all your active toggles. Not de-toggle them, suppress. I suggest that the kheldian shift forms apply a particular form of mez that does not actually mez, but rather simply suppresses toggles. That way the player can hop between forms while maintaining the defences for human form inbetween shifts. The only problem I can see is if the defences still drain endurance while suppressed, however I'm not sure if they do or don't. If they do I'd suggest a further modifier for the forms that reduces their endurance cost to something minimal.
So...you aren't actually asking for toggle supressing through mezz (which is already in the game), you're asking for toggles to stay up between forms. You may want to find a way to build your character without worrying about humanform toggles.
  15. We decided (after much deliberation) to run the "Death from Below" trial for this weeks Kheld Fridays! It was fun, fast, and honestly felt like we were cheating. I mean, the final boss didn't do more than tickle us. It was quite funny.

Afterwards (since we beat that in like 20 minutes), we decided to run a Citadel TF for good measure. Lots of robot smashing, and we kept getting the same cave in North IP

IIRC, it was that way at PAX, but they changed it to only travel powers. I don't know if this was a change of heart or unintended in the first place.
  17. Hasn't the text on Tough been bugged for a while now? I think I've heard something about this before, though I may be thinking of something else.

Regardless, it is only Smashing/Lethal resistance.

    Hoverboard...

Frankly, I'd be just happy with different colors*, which is what is keeping me from making the board a day one purchase. But according to this:

Later in the podcast they talk about the new Rocket Board and perhaps expanding to other board-related travel powers for purchase in the future.
Something like that may be on their agenda already. I would suggest PM-ing Z with your idea, see if he can drop a hint to whoever is in charge of that project.

*Specifically purple and black, make it happen Devs!
  19. So, when did they port CoH to Dreamcast?

    Also, GOONGALA!

    And nice job!

It may not be an issue by Sunday, but something to keep in mind:

    • Poison Trap: Reduced this power's interrupt time from 4 to 2 seconds. This power now deals minor damage over time, will hold foes instead of put them to sleep and will reduce the affected targets' recovery while they're within the poison gas. This power now accepts Hold enhancements and IO Sets and Damage enhancements and Melee AoE IO Sets and can no longer accept sleep enhancements and IO sets. Additionally, this power no longer has an interrupt time.
    • Venomous Gas (Controller/Corruptor): Now has a more appropriate activation animation.

    • This is a Zone Event recommended for 8+ players.
    • Players must gather allies to defend First Ward by defeating Seedlings, then finish the fight by assaulting the Seed itself!
    • Defeating Seedlings will give players and all of their teammates/leaguemates 2 minutes of a temporary power called “Buoyant Membrane”. This group flight power allows all players to participate in the airborne sections of the event.
    • Charges of Buoyant Membrane can also be purchased from the Seed Hunter NPCs in the Survivor Compound and at the Chapel of Enduring Light.
Players who manage to defeat the Seed of Hamidon will receive Reward Merits, and a temporary power boosting their experience and influence gain for a limited time. There are also new badges for this event to be discovered in game.
Can any of the beta testers tell me whether or not the seed has unresistable attacks? Like normal Hamidon?
  23. I'd just like everyone to know, this thread is inspiring. Truly.

  24. I completely forgot about this until after I turned off my computer before bed Started too late for me anyways, I suppose. Did you take screenies?
