Huh. Why would removing the Fog of War be useful?
... unless... Maybe you can use it in the Shadow Shard?

I'm a little confused. You said

I'm sure if i was a little patient, and decided to farm the cim. wall 24/7 i could have gotten it for less, but that is ridiculous...
[/ QUOTE ]
And
[ QUOTE ]
When did i say i never farm??? I rarely do boss farms, but i do farm the hell out of the cimeroran wall, and doing itf's
[/ QUOTE ]
How big is the difference between "farming 24x7" and "farming the hell out of"?
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to play devil's advocate, even if you farmed every waking moment of the day, you're still asleep for at least 6 hours a day. You could be making 33.3% more inf per day farming 24 hours! But I'd consider "farming the hell out of" to be 4-6 hours a day. That's 600-400% more info you could be making by farming 24 hours per day. -

The blaster will be squishier than the scrapper no matter what
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought squishies in PvP got auto-resists now. That being the case a Scrapper with all toggles off would presumably be easier to kill than a Blaster. I may be missing something though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Melee types get 10% resist to all with higher HP
Ranged types get 30% resist with lower hp.
To be honest it takes just about the same number of attacks and time to defeat either when the toggles are all off
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe any blaster sets have self-rez.
Oh, just double checked and there's an epic pool one. I think I'd sooner go with a scrapper so I can start trying at lower levels. -
If you were TRULY ebil, you'd wait until 2xp weekend and flip it for a profit!

Thanks for the info everyone. I'll wait another two days and ask this again.

You get another smile, Farmer McFarmenstein.
But yeah, sorry if I sound a little short, it's a person peeve of mine when this stuff happens. When I played LOTRO, we used to get the same questions day in and day out on some of the class-specific boards, even tho there was a sticky at the top of the forum that explained it all. One gets tired of saying, "Check the sticky" or "Someone asked the EXACT SAME QUESTION half a page down, did you even look at the FRONT PAGE before posting?" Yeah, it went down hill from there. -
People who feel the need to use real life gains to influence their in-game status sadden me. It's SO EASY to make money in this game that you have to be a real [censored] loser to support the Chinese sweat shops. Ironically, they don't even realize that they're the ones driving prices up through their actions.
This reminds me of the people who, instead of waiting in line in traffic, shoot to the front of the line of cars and push their way in at the last minute. They are the ones CAUSING the line of cars so if they'd just [censored] WAIT like everyone else, the line of cars would go away.
Oh well, stupid people just are. -

I'm not seeing it either.

Sorry, you guys are right. He asked that question in ANOTHER thread and it was answered in the next post. -

And if there's a penalty involved in doing this solo...guess where the farmers will end up again?
[/ QUOTE ]
IF there's a penalty, I expect it to be in the form of some limit, decay or other impact to an individual's rate of reward. Doing so in this way would ensure that it doesn't matter what size team you're on, or where you farm or PL. You won't exceed target return rate limits.
Note that I do not want such a feature and would not ask for it. But if I was tasked with implementing it, that's what I'd do.
[/ QUOTE ]
IF there is a penalty, I expect it to be completely over the top and ridiculous, like a 5 minute timer between drops that resets if you kill anything else within those 5 minutes. -
Man, what's with the forum this week? All of a sudden we're getting a rash of questions that were answered like 2 days ago and then 2 day before that also. This has been discussed at length twice already this week. Flip back a page or two.

does this answer you question flu. you might want to actually check a few posts back from now on before you go asking questions that have already been answered.

Post your predictions for the market for Issue 16 here.
I predict people will roll lots of new chars to play with Powerset Proliferation and Customization. People may also spend a significant amount of time retrofitting established characters for Power Customization, complete with costume tweaking. That will result in fewer people leveling up mid and high level chars, at least in the short term. It'll take a few months for the game to return to a more normal distribution.
Low level demand will spike. Lots of lowbies will still be using AE and earning tickets, so low level supply will only spike weakly from the Traditionalists who avoid the AE. There's money to be made selling to lowbies for a month or two. Common IO crafters will be busy.
Farmers will go gonzo with the new difficulty system, and supply of level 50 stuff will spike. More people will try fighting larger spawns, effectively increasing the number of farmers in the game and again increasing supply. Total Farm income will increase, and that will go to buying shinies since it's all disposable income. The price of most high level stuff will go down due to oversupply and a reduction in the number of new people hitting 50, but within a couple months prices will rebound higher than ever. Items trading in a shortage (purples) will not go down at all as there will be no oversupply, so they will continue to rise as disposable income rises. Hold on to your purples, the prices are just going up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Interesting, I disagree with a lot of this.
Agreed, people will be rolling new alts, but it takes all of 4 hours to get them up to the mid-20s in AE. Low level stuff won't change from current patterns at all IMO.
This will result in a TON of tickets and most low-mid level recipes (say 30 and under) will drop in price. There might be an increase in demand, but the increase in supply will outstrip it.
As I stated in another thread, I think demand for purples and high-end IO sets will spike before supply catches up from all the farming. Prices will climb before steadying and finally dropping as the market saturates from all the farming. I think the saturation will take a while tho, because of all the new alts being created from scratch.
In summary, low-mid level stuff will crash in price, making frankenslotters happy. High-end stuff will spike for a while before farming saturates the market. -
TBH, changing colors on powers didn't excite me until I saw their little i16 banner. The green ice stuff looks all tech and cool...you could make some GREAT concepts now with the power colors.
I was hoping for the new power sets for i16...proliferation doesn't excite me all that much (tho elec/shield scrapper should be fun!).
Oh the money we will make off respecs when i16 hits....good lord, I'm salivating just thinking about it. -

I say, why roll for levels below 50?
[/ QUOTE ]
We've been over this twice in the last week. Flip back a page or two. -
[ QUOTE ]
Is there something you can get with a 40-44 bronze roll you can't get (worth value) than with a 30-34 bronze roll?
Seems like you are shutting out many uniques at 40-44 that you can get at 30-34? What am I missing here?
[/ QUOTE ]
You're missing what I'm shutting out that I don't want, namely a TON of worthless garbage that ends at 30.
EDIT - To clarify, out of all the recipes that end at 30, how many are worthless and how many are good? Now imagine what it does to your odds of getting something good when you take out that much worthless stuff, even if you also take out one or two good ones. Your odds are still much better overall. Without knowing the exact weighting of recipe drops, it's impossible to PROVE, but it makes sense and it has worked out well for me in practice. -

Next april fools day, it would make me laugh if they ran a script that looked at all the bids on the market for IOs that don't exist, and then filled them. A large number of billion would go up in smoke, mainly from people who could afford it.
The howls of "What do you mean I paid 2BN for a call of the sandman" would be quite amusing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh...That doesnt make any sense, but okay. You do realize when you lay a bid down you pay the money immediately, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
People put down the bids on something they know won't get sold as a way of bypassing the inf cap. If the devs actually sold that stuff to them it's like clearing out a bank vault and leaving a dinner mint with a bow on the ground. I lol'ed. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hell, Stillhart was telling me he rolled 10 golds in a row (or something) and didn't really get anything good at all. Don't be that guy (lol)
[/ QUOTE ]
It's true. My luck in general is horrible so I tend to go for quantity over quality. I rolled some 2k tickets worth of bronze 40-44 last night. Haven't yet crafted and sold the good stuff, but I definitely made more money on 2k tickets than I did on 10 gold rolls (35k tickets) full of bad luck. -

I know. A lame attempt at humor. Appears my success rate at that is in line with my PvP IO drops in arena...
[/ QUOTE ]
You got a smile, what else do you want? Sheesh!! Now get back to farming, Farmer McFarmenstein!! -
[ QUOTE ]
Actually, the fact that I was willing to set this up and watch the painfully slow action for 3.5 hours straight already worries me.
[/ QUOTE ]
The whole point of doing it in the arena is that you don't have to watch. Duh.

[ QUOTE ]
That's why I think specific builds would be the best solution. It seems like it would be the best way to get around this new timer.
[/ QUOTE ]
I used my fire/kin as the beatdown dummy and my spine/dark scrap as the killer. With FA and Death Shroud running, I was able to consistently take down my f/k in 5:05 to 5:15 minutes in the arena (due to the periodic misses).
My method was to set up a 30 min battle royale cage match. fully attack the f/k on startup as quickly as possible then let the 5 minute kill cycles run.
I ran about 7 of these last night and another 3 this morning.
No PvP IO drops.
Bad luck I suppose, but I still haven't heard from anyone that actually had a PvP IO drop in the arena. several report drops in zone PvP, but not in the arena...
I did receive inf, and I think I got one salvage drop but may be mistaken on that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was getting one drop per 2 matches or so before, when I killed in ~30s. With a 300s timer, you'd expect it to take 10x as long, so 10-20 matches. If you get to 30 and no drops, I'd get worried. -
Oh, and ironically, it's gonna take purples to be able to SOLO 8-man missions for purples...which means I think the price will still go up before it goes down, and it will take longer to go down (demand will go up before supply does, supply will eventually go up pushing the price back down to current levels and beyond hopefully).

[ QUOTE ]
Looks like I should just start working on building cash to buy Purples instead of dropping one, eh?
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends on your time frame. I suspect it will be quite some time before we see the inevitable price drop. People EXPECT purples to be expensive so price won't drop until there's a true glut of them on the market. I'm more inclined to farm purples now and sell em, bank the cash, and buy in a few months when price drops.
