Welcome back, Leveticus! I'm glad you resubbed and joined us for the Mothership Raid. I hope you'll join us for another! There's a thread near the top of the Liberty forum with the raid times. Please join us again.
Do try some task forces too, the ITF and Eden in particular are a blast. -

I'd LOVE to have it where a zero and one star force commentary
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd love it if zero stars didn't exist. From a review standpoint, they make no sense. Star ratings are always from 1 to 5, not 0-5 and the WAY you have to do it feels like a glitch (clicking a rating and then unclicking it). From a math standpoint, it's very uneven since it makes it vastly easier to tank an arc than promote one.
Plus, imagine what would happen if all zero rating were instantly nullified/ignored/cleared from the system...
[/ QUOTE ]
This. There's no reason for a zero-star rating. It's supposed to be a 1-5 star rating system. -
I am sorry to hear about your friend's death, Xisha. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know.

I don't see a reason for attacking me when I offer to run a Hamidon raid. If there is interest in it, what is the problem? Other than a desire to fling poo, that is?
Good grief, people are never happy. I could hand out purples on the corner in Atlas and it would be criticized.
Edit/PS: I asked a friend for a Hamidon guide several days ago and was planning to offer to run one after I did a few more raids on Virtue, but I guess I'm wasting my time. -

Oh don't do us any favors o' great one. As far as I remember it you just hang in the swarm bucket and try to hide your other 2 accounts that are keeping key people from getting in the zone. Really nice? let's see ya get out there and lead a successfull one......then ask. Otherwise stick to the dummy raids aka Mothership.

Try rehab, because you must be sniffing, snorting, smoking, or shooting up something. -

Really, the only people who complain about MA are the ones who miss the Rikti Comm farms. The average player still gets a lot of enjoyment out of them. I took my level 11 tank to it, picked out a mission that turned out to be a farm, and got quite a bit of tickets from it. I rolled for about 15 recipes, several trays full of salvage, and got half of my powers slotted. Normally, most of the recipes I'd get would be for common IOs. Here, I was able to frankenslot several of my powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is just patently false. I never made a Rikti Comm farm. I didn't meow. I didnt PL toons on the MA. Period. I published 6 arcs over the course of the first few weeks that I'd spent countless hours workin on. All of them were (and the ones still up are) averaging 4 star ratings or above with 20-50 ratings.
I'm still utterly disgusted by the way the devs have handled post i-14 stuff.
The worst part is, people's valid complaints about maps being yanked with no warnings, idiotic changes to powersets on custom critters that make things WORSE, not better, and blatantly false information like the fact that automatic suspensions wont happen when in deed they did...to people who were simply in perfectly legal LEVEL PACTS no less, are dismissed by comments like yours.
Look, its one thing to like a game. It's quite another to ignore when the devs do things that hurt players because it didn't personally affect you.
Seeing how the Devs have publicly responded to this whole mess is even more disheartening. It's like they haven't had a sophomore level public relations or even public speaking course.
I'm not crying DOOOOOM...but I am saying "Please...wake up." Im a long time veteran of the game, have 2 accounts because when my nephew stopped using the one I gave him for Christmas one year I took it over for more Justice slots (pre-slot buying) and spend far too many hours a week on the game. And you know what? i14 has actually made me, for the first time, think about trying Champions online when it comes out.
That's not meant as a threat. Really. But it should say something about the importance of the way things should be handled and the clusterhump that has been i14 handling.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you, that sums up how I feel precisely.
The MA itself... I love it. The dev's handling of every single issue that arisen from it... abysmal.
I love this game, but like you I'm seriously considering CO or DC for the first time. I'm not the only one, a half dozen of my SG mates have said the same thing.
WAKE UP! The house is on fire! -
The correct date is Monday the 25th at 9pm Eastern.
I would love to host another ship raid on Tuesday for your birthday, Sukothai, but there is a PERC meeting scheduled, and Vaxin's video card is fried. None of the three of us could do it.
How about I give you a rain check? The next raid will be a belated birthday present. We can have cake and ice cream after we take it from the Rikti. I hear Ukon Grai has some. -
[ QUOTE ]
So I was thinking now was a good time to sell some more level pacts. Anyone interested in a particular server/side?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm glad to see you posting Smurphy, I was afraid you'd been thwacked with a 3-day ban. -
Vaxin, American_Valor, and I run raids cooperatively. Scheduling and holding these raids is a team effort. Leading raids is not a competition between us.
One, two, or all three of us may attend and lead a raid. Just because I schedule the raid here in the forum does not mean that I will be leading it, this applies to the other raid leaders as well. Any one or all of us may lead a given raid.
I hope that Liberty players enjoy our raids and we look forward to seeing you at them in the future. -
A month or two? How about 'never'. There are thousands of non-farm, non-exploit MA arcs. The GMs are too busy to ban farm arcs or copyright violations that are reported (I know since I've been reporting them). The Devs are too busy to play more than one arc a day, if that, to evaluation for DC (as per Positron's post).
So who would be reviewing arcs? When? How fast?
The only way to deal it is to follow up on reports and fix exploits.
I know if my arc had to go on a months... or years... long wait for approval, I would never write anything ever again. I'd also quit playing MA in protest. -

I've done the Praetorian arcs on several characters. Beating Shadowhunter solo on Unyielding was a test of strength for my tank and scrapper, a challenge. I didn't try to solo him on any of my other characters.
Shadowhunter can be very annoying to fight. The mission accept doesn't tell you it's a timed mission, and it should. That to me is even more annoying. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well when we only get three slots each, many authors want to make each one count. Personally a single-mission arc feels like a waste of a slot to me. If we didn't have that limitation then I would make some short ones as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. I've got plans for all three of my publishing slots and could write more, I've published one so far. I'm not in a rush to write the other two because I know once they're done and published it's over (except for updates).
If the option were there to buy more slots I would feel less hampered.
Allowing unlimited slots at no cost or for tickets would be a bad idea. The first thing that would happen would be a repeat of how things were before the 5/5 patch... 50 billion farms clogging up the pipes rather than the still too many farms we have now. The people with the most tickets are, by and large, the people who publish farms. It would be like putting up a sign for an 'all the farms you can publish' buffet. Putting a price tag on extra slots is pretty much only going to appeal to SFMA writers.
The extra slots for DC or HOF is a bad joke. -
[ QUOTE ]
I figured I put out my outline so folks can have an idea what I'm working with and probably how much money CoH will make if they make me pay for story arc publishing slots.

Okay, I really want to play this. Since searching for "Vampire Lord" will probably turn up a bunch of stuff, as both words are commonly used, can you provide arc numbers for the three you've published? -

COX style farming is here to stay and helps keep a lot of people renewing their subs each month.
Exploit/outlier farming is not good for the game, has been removed and is no longer an issue as of the patch that removed the exploits/outliers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Has it, really? Stand in the AE building in Cap Au Diable on Virtue. The LFF and Farm LFM broadcast and local is still there, just not as bad as it was.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those people are Boss and Lt farming.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's still farming. I even still see arcs in the MA list that say "farm", for example "Lvl 54 Farm for 40+" and they're not talking about Old McDonald.
[/ QUOTE ]
YES it is still farming and thats what I said in the first post. "Exploits and Outliers" are GONE. There is a difference.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would explain why this isn't so, but it's policy not to advertise exploits. It just isn't true. There are still exploits that need to be closed. -
[ QUOTE ]
Although, I must admit, if I were a dev and saw an arc played 999+ times, I would check it out.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am still seeing arcs that are obvious farms... with over 500 plays. The number of plays means nothing. A real gem of an arc could be sitting at 10 plays, the reason for that is the sorting order.
I would like my arc to be looked at. It's sitting at 51 plays buried in the back beyond of the 4 star section. I don't hold out any real hope of that happening. I've learned to be happy if my arc is played at all on a given day. That's about all people who refuse to spam global channels and broadcast or have voting blocks can hope for. -
MA is so dead that I have 51 plays on my arc so far.
Golly, I didn't realize.

I remember why FA and other attacks and taunt have target caps.
Remember herding into dumpsters? I do. I found it boring as hell to be told "wait for the tank and don't shoot until we say so" as he rounded up a map worth of critters.
That's why.
AR isn't inferior to Archery because it has one more cone attack, that's the balance between the two sets. If anything, Archery is inferior to AR. I have level 50 blasters of both sets. -
[ QUOTE ]
With Ouroboros, AE, sidekicking, and exempting - you can do everything on one character. Okay, one character per side (red/blue).
Having more than one character takes up server resources and ties up valuable hero names that others cannot take. This is an RPG - and your character is very important. When a new player finds out they can't get the name they want - they quit. You have cost CoX one new player for every alt you have. That's a lot of money for development your selfishness has cost all of us.
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree vehemently. Playing alts is why I play this game. The ability to buy extra character slots generates income. Ive paid $60 so far for extra character slots.
As for the naming issue, phooey. Theyve addressed that by weeding out inactive accounts characters under a certain level (5? 35?). It isnt that hard to get a name, the only name I ever truly wanted is taken up by an NPC. A little creativity goes a long way.
[ QUOTE ]
And you can only play one character at a time (if you have multiple accounts - one per account). So having more than one is just a waste.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bullhockey. Alts extend the life of the game by extending the amount of time a player is subscribed. If I were only allowed one character at a time I would have unsubscribed years ago, instead Ive been playing since July 2004. Alts are what keep me here and keep me paying.
If we were only allowed one character this game would be a laughingstock. The only game Ive played in the last eight years that allowed only one character at a time was Puzzle Quest ($10 puzzle computer game, not an MMO). No other MMO does this because they know better.
[ QUOTE ]
And when you play alts you aren't connected to your main. It is an RPG - you can only have fun from the satisfaction that comes from truly knowing and inhabiting your character. You can't possibly have fun having alts - so why have them (I know, I tried it out and hated it)?
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats you. Im me. Were not clones. Get over it. You pay your $15, Ill pay mine, so dont dictate how I play when it falls in line with developer intention.
[ QUOTE ]
Alts fill up supergroups. The devs have had to waste time making SGs larger so that selfish people could have alts.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont play in or want to play in an SG full of strangers. Maybe you do. I dont need 149 other people to clutter up my SG, I populate it with friends and family members. My main SG has 6 current players, only two of us play regularly. I still find teams outside of my SGs any time I want to, I have a well-developed global friend list and am on active global channels.
If that makes me selfish, so be it. That might be why I help other players so much. Doh.
[ QUOTE ]
And alts make it hard for everyone else to have fun. I see somebody on and make a friend. Later they aren't on. Maybe they are - but on an alt. I don't know. It just looks like my new friend is missing. Alts kills friendships and community - and everyone knows that community is what keeps MMO's alive.
[/ QUOTE ]
Alts make for more adaptive teams. Need a rad for that STF? Ive got one. A tank for the ITF? Ditto. Scrapper or Blaster for damage? You bet. Controllers, Khelds, Widows. Even a level 4 Soldier. If the team needs a certain role filled, Ive got it covered for anything. I dont see how this makes it harder to have fun, the people I want to find me have me on their global list. They can see me wherever I am, Virtue, Pinnacle, Liberty, Infinity. They can also give a shout out in our 10 different global channels. If you cant, maybe you should work on that friendship thing.
[ QUOTE ]
I call upon the devs to solve this problem that is driving away new players, giving existing players ennui and making them quit. Reduce all accounts to 1 character redside and 1 character blueside. Stop selfishness from ruining my game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good luck with that not!
Youre the first player Ive ever heard spout this nonsense, perhaps that makes you a minority. Go figure.
The devs know where their bread is buttered and what keeps the money flowing when it comes to this issue. I dont think you do. -

The GMs will decide. Our opinions and that of the Copyright Office, Lawyers, and the squirrel next door don't matter.
