  1. I did LGTF yesterday. I also have done two ITFs, a Moonfire TF, and 2 Mothership raids in the two weeks. I missed a Hamidon raid last night (sad). That's light play time for me. I think PvE is doing just fine.
  2. A well played storm defender.... who needs heals? As I proved my AE team of 8. It was enlightening for them.
  3. There's no difference between doing the Freakolympics arc over and over again and doing an MA arc that has Freaks (just Freaks, not "massaged" to be all melee types, or all lts, or such) over and over again. If you like fighting freaks because they look cool, are risky because they get up again... have at it.

    The Coming Storm

It's good to see that I'm not the only one awake at this time of morning, wishing someone would post!

    That's an interesting observation:

To Praetorian Earth, are we really the good guys? Or are we their version of the Rikti, interdimensional nutbags who swoop in and try to beat up their emperor? Think about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do we really have the right to interfere in another world? If so, when?
  5. Don't You Love It When: Your defender gets an invite for their buffs?

Don't You Hate It When: They start asking for buffs you've already cast on them?

It seems that most people I see in AE that are looking for teams, or forming teams, only seem to care about boring farms made for quick leveling. No content, no story plot, nothing. Even if I could team without crashing, I'd avoid them like the plague.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It all depends. Some "farming teams" are actually okay with you suggesting story based missions. Just depends on how you approach them.

Or maybe I've just been lucky...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some aren't really farming teams, but just people looking for someone else to put together and run the team. Quick and easy pugging in a fast location, in otherwords Atlas or Mercy or Cap AE. They just want a team. ANY team. That was some of what the Meow craze was - instant teams, no waiting, anyone welcome.
  7. Will the Clockwork Bride be there?

See, I remember YOU! That outfit was unforgettable.
  8. Now I know what the GMs are spending all their time on... generic name renames.

    /em headdesk

This explains why it takes so long for technical stuff, they're too busy laughing at the no-brainers.

Thats why its still there? Of course, that makes sense...anyhow, this whole idea has been discussed, and hopefully no ones feelings get hurt in the process, best of hopes.

Because she can't remove it. The head of PvPEC has to ask the moderator who coordinates with that committee to do so. Dazz has no control of that. She can only control her signature block and things in her home/account lines. That title by her name/avatar isn't under her control, that's a moderator controlled area.

Edit: As examples of this: Tax_E'x "PERC's Notable Novelist" title was added by Koschej (if I recall correctly) at the PERC 1st Chair's request when she won her contest prize. It won't be removed until a moderator takes an action to remove it (if ever). My PERC Title was removed when I resigned from PERC a couple days ago.
  10. Darn, BW beat me to my bridge idea.

    There's no shoulder.
You can't push it off or out of the way.
Being on a bridge adds an element of fear, and uncertainty.
Fred might well have be nervous on the bridge, many drivers are.

And as a side note, people are like sheep, they mostly mill around and go baaaa and watch things happen. That makes it had for the police to get them to do anything without threatening them, at which point many get obstinate.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
A large map with level 50+ Freakshow is NOT an exploit.

The Juicers still fly and have powerful melee attacks.
The Stunners still stun, and fly to melee with powerful melee attacks.
Both still attack with energy and still sap endurence.
Swipers still have their ranged attack.
Smashers still stun, and hit hella hard in melee.
Boss Freaks still use grenedes, or saw blade attacks from range, as well as hit hella hard melee.
Freaks all still use Dull Pain, and self rez at times making them extra hard to bring down.

While not as difficult as SOME foe groups like Malta, Rularuu, and KoA, they are by no means "easy meat". They are on a par with Council and CoT.

    [/ QUOTE ]

QFT. What gives Freaks is appeal that they can get up so you can beat them down again. Twice the risk, twice the reward. It's the same as a normal canon mission. The XP is not out of proportion, they're not being bent out of shape into a custom group. There's no imbalance in risk/reward and thus no exploit.

To paraphrase Positron, if you like Freakolympics....
  12. Wow, I am having a nostalgic moment.... flashback to summer 2004.... first playing the game. It was so new.

    3. Nemesis Staff/Blackwand
    4. Respecs
    5. Chest Details (Vanguard, PPD, Arachnos, COT, etc... I use a lot)

Pretty sure it's aimed at EVERYONE and is pretty sound advice.

With the way GMs/CS have been going about, I WOULD NOT want to give them a reason to think that you are trying to fool around with them.

I would not mind losing an arc or even a slot.

Logically I think most would NOT want to lose their ability to use the MA at all, or even their ACCOUNT.

    Just saying.

    tl;dr: Don't F&*K with the CS/GMs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quite frankly, I don't care. It's a game. Games come and go. I have no problems spending $15 a month on a game. The MMO market is so huge, if my account got banned for some obsocure reason, I'd just play a different MMO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This isn't obscure. This is you saying:

"I'm blatantly exploiting and advertising it. Haha, the GMs are dumb. Here's how to beat them. Aren't I a cool kid?"

'for some obscure reason' is malarky, you would know exactly why.

Can we get this thread up to 50+ pages too please? The forums don't have enough I15 Badge Changes Rage yet.

    Eco.

[/ QUOTE ] 50 pages is relative anyway. It depends how many posts per page somebody has in their forum settings. 50 pages for one person might be only 25 for another.

    Edit:
For example, for me, this thread only had 1 page until I posted this reply.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You should get a badge for viewing a post in 50 post view mode.
That is a lot harder to achieve than the remaining MA badges.
    Combined!

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's my default - 50 posts per page. It makes for less paging and more continuous reading. I like it that way. Try it!
  16. I would like to have the Anniversary badges account wide.

No more logging in 60+ alts.

I'd get the badges on characters I missed logging in.

I'd get the badges on characters that I rerolled for new powersets.

If Posi can't work it out, I won't be fussed about it.

After a large of numbers of posts regarding certain actions of the devs does anyone think

    1. They give a !@#$ what any of us think?

    [/ QUOTE ]
They presumably care about the bottom line.
They must figure that alienating goal and performance motivated gamers will somehow result in a net gain in the future.

CO is going to stink on ice.
It would be great if it was a good game, since it would serve to keep them from power tripping so hard, but it isn't a good game, and wishing can't make it so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All true. The OP has good points with the lesser of them being #3. This game will lose some people to CO, more than they would have as a result of dev actions. What the devs need to worry about is losing players to other games than CO. There are plenty to play out there. I have a lifetime subscription to LOTRO. I don't even need to buy a new game, I subscribed, upgraded and bought a lifetime account when I13 was in beta. Actually, I bought two, I got one for my husband too. He plays that now. $500 well spent. It even just had a major update very recently, I need to go play that and get some festival time in too.

The problem with MA not saving all of your edit changes is known to players, it's happened to me many times and to others as well (it comes up on forums and MA channels often enough), but I've not seen it acknowledged by developers.

    Good luck.

  21. Next raid is Wednesday, June 10th at 9pm Eastern.

I'm sorry, it doesn't look as if either Valor nor I can lead one this week. If that changes I will post something.
  22. Whatever is the most fun. YMMV.

For me right now, and for the last year, that has been my energy/energy blaster. For a long time it was AR/Dev. And Archery/Dev. And Ice/Ice. And Fire/Ice. And Mind/Psi. And.... you get the picture. I <3 my blasters.

Experiment and find your favorite. It's like icecream, you can't have just one flavor.

Does everyone who has ever used an exploit in a published mission know what they did? Every writer? Every player on a team? Every mission leader?

    Hyperbole is so much fun!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I spent two weeks writing my first MA. Believe me, I'm very glad I didn't use any exploits as a vital part of it, or any part of it at all. I'm extremely glad that the RWZ map wasn't yanked. If the RWZ map or the Rikti as a faction are ever pulled my arc is screwed, I'll have no choice but to unpublish because the arc is unviable without both of those.

That's one of the kind of things I'm talking about.

What is up with the racial slurs this weekend?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's not a slur against Native Americans, but against the US government which took back land that it gave to them. The American goverment is what the slur applies to. It's not racial in that sense. At least that is how I meant it.

ISSUE 15: We know there are some things that are exploitable, but we're realeasing it anyway and will punish you if you use said exploits.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Um, yes, isn't that generally how it works? If you're told not to do something and you do it anyway, you get punished for it. Surprisingly enough, you're not actually entitled to just do whatever you want.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And if you're not told, then you may not know until it is already too late.

Does everyone who has ever used an exploit in a published mission know what they did? Every writer? Every player on a team? Every mission leader?

No. I know of too many exploits, some blatant, some not blatant, some accepted as simple design paradigm in very common usage by both farmers and SFMA writers, some live, some already fixed, to believe that.

In fact last night my duo teammate, when we were playing a mission, said that if he had ever seen “that” before he would have used it in his MA mission.

Well, I had just stopped us in our mission. “That” was an exploit. He didn’t know. We were stopping to leave the mission at my insistence. I had already reported the exploit to Mod08 a week ago.

My point? He didn’t know “that” was available as an option. If he did, he’d have been using it in his mission innocently. I predict some people are. Not everyone is an exploiter.

Hypothetically, if I had known about Batzuul Imps being an option when I was first working on an arc in Beta I might have written an arc for those, COT Behemoths, my Fire/Fire Tank Prometheus Unchained and his evil Praetorian Fire/Fire Brute sister Cassandra Pyre using the Cimeroran maps instead of what I did. Fire, family feuds, Greek gods, and betrayal instead of Crey, Arachnos, Council, Nemesis, Malta, KoA, Rikti, and Major Crisis.

And then suddenly… bam… I would have been an evil exploiter without even realizing it. I wouldn’t have known until someone told me because I didn’t test that first arc until I was done writing all the text details (not bright, but true). I would have noticed the Batzuul 5hp given they pop like balloons, but if they'd been like Rikti monkeys in difficulty then I wouldn't have noticed a thing. If they'd given disproportionate xp I wouldn't have noticed at all.

If hundreds of people had started playing my arc like it was crack when it went live... I would have wondered what was going on. I would have asked and found out and taken it down.

Exploit usage can be an accident. You can write an exploit into an arc by accident. You can choose an arc by accident. You can be on a team by accident.

The devs can even punish you by accident. Ask the level pacters.
